This is a nice comfortable place to visit with several regulars having their beverage of choice while deep in discussion solving the world's problems. This is a typical sports bar heavily favoring the Chicago Cubs as you can probably tell from the name. There are pool tables, a jukebox, video poker and lots of TVs. Lots of lighting but the place still seams on the darker side. The only staff I saw was the man behind the bar and there has to be someone in the kitchen because people were ordering food. It looked like the typical bar food, deep fried and burgers. I have eaten here in the past and enjoyed that meal. Cubs fan or not this is a nice place to visit and you can feel welcome. The interior is standard upscale brewery decor, and everything was clean and nice. I was promptly seated and attended to several times before the rest of my party. Our server was fantastic, and everything came out quickly and hot. The Bloody Mary was decent! I would have liked a few more olives or pickles, or maybe some meat/cheese, but the menu said they make the mix in house and it was pretty good. My friend had a mule, and that seemed fine, too. Food: the menu is different than I remember. Between us all, we had the spinach artichoke dip, the fish and chips, the BLT, and a kid's pasta alfredo meal. The spin dip came out bubbling hot with melty cheese on top, served with warm chips and pita bread. It was creamy and garlicky, and really good. The fish and chips was great! Two huge pieces of beer battered fish, crinkle cut fries, and coleslaw. My friend had the BLT; it looked loaded with crispy bacon. The kid's alfredo was also great, and gobbled down with no complaints!

There are lots of cool automotive touches, vintage signs, and garage-style charm that give it a laid-back, quirky personality. It is the kind of place where you notice something new every time you look around. We were seated quickly and greeted by our server. We ordered waters and a couple of pops. It is a Pepsi establishment, so I went with a Diet Mountain Dew. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with extra crispy tots and a side of honey mustard. The sandwich was just the right size for lunch, and the tots were hot, crispy, and plentiful. The honey mustard was way better than expected--sweet, tangy, and perfect for dipping. My friend was excited to see an Impossible Burger on the menu. As a vegetarian, it is rare for her to have a solid lunch option. Daisy's even had vegan fare available, which was a nice surprise. I did not remember to photograph my lunch, but I have absolutely no regrets about eating it. If you are in the Cedar Rapids area, give Daisy's a try. Great atmosphere, great service, and some seriously great tots.

The variety of appetizers is solid and we almost always get at least two because it's so hard to decide. The pork belly burnt ends and cheese bread are regular favorites for us. The barbecue strangely enough is solid for a place that doesn't do it regularly. I usually get some type of chicken sandwich and the chicken is always moist and above average. The only "cons" I have. Sometimes the service can be a touch slow. This isn't super common, but has happened once or twice for us. Second: the kids chicken tenders just do not look appealing and my son isn't impressed by them. They're dry and honestly they'd be better off getting premade frozen ones cause these ones aren't great. The fries however make up for this ten fold as my son is obsessed with their fries. Otherwise, this place is solid. We recommend it to friends and family regularly and it's a great spot if you're wanting to try something unique.
