Service was kind and welcoming; they were attentive and friendly. The food was delicious, although a bit pricey. The atmosphere was pretty fun, wouldn't say I hate it nor love it. It was comfortable. read more

Tic Toc - App sampler. Mushrooms. ‍ onion rings and pretzel bites. Yum - Pubs Near Me - Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Came here on a Friday night and it wasn't too busy. The service and food were great. They also have some tvs so I had them turn on the game. The staff is friendly and everything seemed clean and orderly. My friend got the fish sandwich and enjoyed it. I got the Rolex burger with bacon, Swiss, mushrooms, and garlic aioli. Highly recommend! We got the campfire tots which have a special seasoning on them that was good. I've always had good service here and the food comes out fast and hot. read more

Ignore the state of the parking lot and go inside anyway. Well it isn't the old Tic Toc! No. They aren't trying to be. I had to have a nostalgic moment. They kept a lot of the decor and they have quarter draw cups strategically placed. So I got my moment. We've been for breakfast twice. They do it well. The pancakes are huge! Bloody Mary's are great flavors and decent pours. Lunch options are plenty and have all been good. The service is always top notch and I appreciate the suggestions they gave us. Great neighborhood option. read more

I loved the original TicToc. Went there for years. Now. Food isn't as good. Burgers seem to not be the same. Doesn't taste near as good. Same name... but not same. That said - it's better than most places like it. Staff are friendly. It's clean. Just not 5 stars anymore read more

My husband and I came in for dinner. I got what I believe was called explosive bacon burger, and my husband got a sriracha burger, we both agreed they were so good! I upgraded to onion rings, they were hand breaded in house and very good as well! Super duper good dinner, glad we came! read more

I love the drinks and food here and the atmosphere, but the bartender was horrible. I was here with my boyfriend and she started yelling at him and his friends about how they aren't of age but they literally were if she would just look at their id's. She seriously was acting like she was methed out. She had stretched gauges. Will not be going to tic tic while she is working. Especially if you guys hire meth heads who yell at customers for no reason. It made us so uncomfortable and we have been going to tic toc for 2 years almost every weekend now. We love Kristen though and will always be there when she's working! read more

Craving a tenderloin after not having one for 3 1/2 years after moving out East. My Tic Toc experience was great. Tenderloin and hash browns were so good. The cheese sticks do not taste like the old Tic Toc cheese sticks. Completely different batter, not light and airy but still taste good. Great server. read more

Great food and great ambiance! Our table started with mushrooms and the cheese logs and both were delicious. The breading was light on both and the mushrooms were huge and so fresh. A couple of us had the tenderloin sandwiches for the main course and it is worth the trip just for these. They marinate the pork tenderloin and it arrives at the table very moist despite the breading. I thought that it was the best breaded tenderloin I've had because of that combination of a crispy bite and a juicy finish. There is a good selection of craft beers on tap and the Beefeater martinis were perfect. Great service, great food and a blast from the past with the history of this place. read more

I went to Tic Toc on a Friday night for dinner with my boyfriend to check it out, since neither of us had ever been there, but both of us really wanted to try out the restaurant. When we walked in, we were greeted by staff and seated promptly. We sat at the table inside, but I was delighted to find out that they had patio seating as well. I really liked their indoor décor as well, very modern and neat. Our wait staff was very kind and quick with our service. I ordered a salad and my boyfriend ordered a burger. We agreed that both of our meals were delicious. I only wished they had a better craft beer selection as their selection was mostly domestic beers. Overall, pretty good experience. read more

This place renovated under new management and reopened in March 2021, so you can pretty much ignore reviews older than that as they won't reflect the restaurant as it is now which simply shares the name and location of the old pub. Tenderloin was pretty bland and underseasoned. It might have been helped more with some good, flavorful mustard but all they had was French's yellow (which is fine for some uses, but isn't going to carry a dish). Hashbrowns were really good. We were disappointed with the mozzarella sticks. Like the tenderloin they were underseasoned. These are the really thick, battered type, but the batter, while crispy, didn't taste like much and inside it's just a big hunk of mozzarella that's so thick that only the outer layer reaches the nice ooey-gooey consistency while the core is just kinda squishy without a particularly good mouthfeel. read more

Great food, atmosphere, and service. Definitely will continue to go here and introduce to others as well.

Well, what a pleasant surprise. The TikTok one of my favorite places to go back in the day. Unfortunately it got run down was closed and all the great food was gone. But one can rejoice the TikTok has been resurrected as back up again. So my girlfriend or what is known as my better half or what is known as my wife or... Saw the rest saw the restaurant on our way to an eye doctor appointment. On the way out we went back for lunch. It was awesome. The place was like brand new somebody made quite an investment into this restaurant. Apparently the individual on several restaurants around Cedar Rapids. It's obvious to me they know what they're doing. Peggy had the tomato with chicken salad. I had a nachos with a chicken pot pie soup. Everything was great. Peggy said she would do it again. I would definitely do it again. So we're both gonna do it again. Wink, wink, wink. Unfortunately I do not have any pictures to contribute. As I left my phone home. But it's worth a trip and if you're in the area. read more

Been there a few times recently. Food is good, service is good. Little loud. I'd take friends there without hesitating.

I use to come out to the Tic Toc when I was dating my current wife. This is a nice little pub. they often had buy one get one free in the paper, I think they still do that so check out your local Penny Saver, Gazette or whatever newspaper you have. The atmosphere is a dark pub type place with a large bar and a decent amount of seating. I think they specialize in sandwiches but I am sure their other food is just as good. This is a place you can go to relax after work. They have a casual crowd and not all college students you might expect being so close to the college. I recently had the Ruben and it was very good lots of fries too. read more

Their food is delicious. Made hot and cooked exactly how I asked! Would def eat here more often if I lived in IOWA. Thanks!

My self, my son and two friends went to eat at Tic Ton on Sunday, October 16, 2022. Our orders were not correct, we did not get half of what we ordered and when I mentioned this, the person waiting our table, was very snippy saying, "we had other orders too." The soup ended up being served when we were completely finished eating, As well as the fries. Above our heads was the biggest cob Web, yes, a real one with spiders in the web. The floors were very dirty as well. I will not be returning. read more

I was so excited to go back Tic Toc! I had been telling my son how great the onion rings were. He was looking forward to his as well. A1 sauce, they were out. French onion soup, they were out. Not the worst things on earth right? When my onion rings arrived, they were burnt. Some of them almost black. I told the waitress and her reply was, " I'm so sorry ". That was it! The onion rings should never have left the kitchen. The waitress should never have served them. I'm pretty sure they both knew better but to not even be offered a fresh batch? Oh come on! I phoned them and left my number. I never heard back from them. Imagine that. Are we going back anytime soon? Oh hell no. read more

Food is good, but we waited over an hour just for appetizers. When they came out with our food and he apps were cold. The cook was sure to come out and drink at the bar. I will not be back or recommend this place. read more

You walk out of this place smelling like grease. The walls are marked by dust, clocks, stains, smoke, beer, gold framed paintings, and age. The service is unpredictable, the patrons a mix. The Tuesday night cups are smaller now. The food is artery clogging. I could subsist on their fries with ranch, french onion soup, and light beer. I know, it doesn't sound great. But it is. read more

ok, what's up Tic Toc? Are you trying to go out of business? Went in on Friday with the family and had the worst experience I've ever had there. First Guinness is no longer on tap. What! Then to offer up a can instead, insult to injury. Ordered our meal and I had a salad on the side. Brought it out with my bleu cheese dressing. It was rancid. The bartender tried to tell me that it was because they put paprika in it. No, it tasted rancid, like bad milk. Got French instead. Better. Had the all you can eat fish. It came out with one filet on the plate and the cook who delivered it said, 'There is more in the back when you're ready'. Ate my fish one, it was ok. They use a corn meal batter, very light and not overpowering. I would tell you what my second one tasted like, but I never got one. After waiting 10 minutes for the server to stop back, especially since our drinks were long since empty, my husband flagged her down. She came back with a refill, she came back with box for my daughter's sandwich, but didn't come back with fish. By this time, everyone at our table was finished eating. Waited for another 10 plus minutes. Saw the server again. Decided that it was crazy to wait any longer. Went up and told her to remove the meal (since I had only had one filet and the side salad). She brought check to husband and meal still on it. Fortunately, the bartender took it off, but by that point her poor service had earned her no tip. Normally we tip 18-20%, but tonight the service didn't warrant a dime. Need to up your game Toc. read more

This place is a classic and must for anyone interested in a landmark restaurant! It's has been around for at least 60 years, although under different ownership, and still maintains its reputation for amazing food, good prices, and good drink specials. I used to eat here constantly when I attended college near by, as most Mt. Mercy and Coe students do. The fact a college student can afford to eat and drink there is a testament to the affordability of this place. The hand-breaded appetizers are amazing -like breaded mushrooms or cheese sticks- I recommend any of them- their homestyle breading makes everything taste made to order (rather than frozen&mass-produced). Also, their soups are almost always out of sight- the gumbo is the best! Generally, this is one of the very best places to eat and drink at in CR. It definitely has a 'hole-in-the-wall' vibe, but I personally think that adds charm- it's unique in that sense and still maintains some of the antique decorations from the previous owners 30 years ago. The staff are always very cordial, and after becoming a regular, they're very good at knowing what I might order or what to suggest that I would enjoy. The owner, Casey, who can often be seen working, is also very friendly and approachable. Once you get your food you'll forget about everything- your angry spouse, your boss being an asshole, or whatever else ails you. read more

Very solid food and great atmosphere that has remained the same over the decades - even under new ownership. I just had the ribs on barbecue night (Friday night) and was very impressed! They have a wood smoker outside and slow cook chicken, ribs and pork chops to a tender, smokey perfection. You have to go on Friday or Saturday night to get them hickory smoked though and trust me, you'll want to go there. A number of restaurants tout ribs that "fall off the bone" but are often flavorless because they just bake them the oven with little or seasoning. These ribs were just the right tenderness where they stay on the bone when you pick them up but peal off easily. And that smokey flavor - the best I've ever had in CR. I just may become a Friday night regular... read more

My group meets here once a month. It is a great place with good food. The waitress is always really great. She makes sure we are well taken care of. Let me start by saying the fried cauliflower was amazing! Home made, battered. Not shipped in frozen. Unfortunately that's all the good I can say. The cauliflower took forever, I think she forgot to send the order to the kitchen. We ordered 2 pulled pork sandwiches which we have heard GREAT things about. They were horrible. The meat was clearly dried out just by looking at it. Why would you even attempt to serve that? I tried to take a bite and couldn't bite through it. My fries were cold. Not like warm, but COLD. Only ended up eating the cauliflower. Won't return. what a shame. From there we went to the flying weenie and it was great! read more

Spare yourself, and don't eat here. I saw mixed reviews online, but after seeing what seems to be an incredible menu compared to similar restaurants in the area, I had to try it for myself. Took about 10 minutes before ever seeing a server. The menu was not at all what they have online, and our server claimed they had many customers come in asking for the items which appear on their website, yet they have no idea how they got the idea they have them. They had additional fees tacked all over the place, for an appetizer and entree item, what said was ~$10 each, (2 items) ended up totaling almost $40. Then we had to wait 40 minutes to ever get the check. We heavily debated simply leaving cash at the table but were so unsure of what the meal would actually cost that we couldn't. They do not serve ribs, or most of their better looking items. The burger was dry and the bun was soggy. The nachos are $10 and an extra $4 if you'd like to add meat of any kind. So little meat, however, that it's not worth ¢50. read more
