Incredible Nitro Irish Stout...fantastic brew in a cozy pub!
    Trisdon M.

My favorite Chambana brewery, this cozy pub feels like stepping into the UK or a story book. Beautiful polished wood everywhere and decorated in a very quaint fashion. The beer is just as good as the venue. They rotate fairly often and dont expect to spend much as pints are generally $5 or less. Highly recommend for a night out with friends.

Loved the outside garden area. Lots of room at this downtown spot. Nice variety of different types of craft beer to choose from as well as a few ciders. The bottle collection inside was also interesting but dusty ;-( Either way, cool place to chill with friends.

Me and my boyfriend found this as a perfect spot to soak the sun up after a really long time with chilled Warsaw wheat beer and Mule. it was so refreshing and light. I am sure this place would be really pretty for an evening break too.. I would definitely recommend this place in this pretty little college town. Also yes, very picturesque walls as well if you're looking to post pics!

One of the two Blind Pig locations, but this one brews their own beer as the other doesn't. Their beers rotate pretty consistently so you can pretty much always find something you like. Though it's smaller than the Pig on Walnut St., it has a great beer garden which provides some great outdoor seating. They have lots of trees planted and a variety of different foliage which makes for nice outdoorsy views even though it's in the heart of downtown. Overall, great place for a new, unique, and local beer. Also one of the best places in downtown Champaign to enjoy outdoor drinks. Highly recommended.

I go multiple times a week! Their Tuesday/Wednesday Mug Night deal is great! Sunday trivia is often the highlight of my week! The drink selection is great. Whether is it their own brews, or the awesome selections that they have on tap from other brewers, there is always something delicious. The patio out back is one of the best reasons to go here! Also, there are no tv's, which is so nice!

A nice local brewery. Do not get this place mixed up with The Blind Pig Company which is located around the corner. This place has the local craft brew and is strictly beer. Bartender said they do not really do cocktails but could mix something up for my friend that does not drink beer. Also, no food but the friendly bartender did recommend some nearby places to eat or get some food and bring back. I ordered a flight and they were all pretty good. I gave the porter, IPA, hefeweizen and raspberry wheat a try. All decent solid beers. I like the atmosphere inside. It reminded my of some the bars I visited in Belgium with the all the wood paneling and wood benches. There is a large outdoor patio which would be great in the summer time. If your visiting in the area, I would definitely recommend a stop to try some local beers.

Outstanding beer selection. I love you guys.

My boyfriend and I LOVE this place. Besides the incredible overall aesthetic (antique, rustic), both indoor and outdoors, they have an outstanding selection of brews, and their bartenders are awesome and friendly. It's our default date-night spot; even though the place feels small and intimate, we can always manage to find a place to sit! Very clean and well-kept, a business they should be proud of. Nice job, guys.

This brewery was awesome. Cool old bottles and draft pulls line the rafters. The drinks were extremely affordable most around $4-5. And the patio is super cute.

The Blind Pig Brewery is located on beautiful and busy Neil Street. I must say this was a fantasic way to be welcomed into the Champaign/Urbana community and I'm very proud to be apart of it. We visited on a Friday after moving and discovered that this is a hot spot amongst locals and travelers alike. From the outside it is unsuspecting, yet upon entry is a lounge and pub type brewery; I hope in the summer there will be live music, as I heard someone mention it. I gave The Blind Pig five stars for three reasons; the decor, the ambiance and the brews- delicious. The decor is in the style of a pub and lounge, for me it felt very intimate and midwestern- a unique charm for the area and I liked the upstairs space with darts and another bar. Highly convenient in case it gets crowded, and the little bar lights reminded me of summer barbeques. Secondly, the ambiance was very relaxing and upbeat, you could hear music and great conversation at the same time- which is hard to find. Only as it got a little later did the patrons become loud, yet were still composed in public. Good patrons. The outdoor seating was packed, as I believe they share a space with another business- either way I'd love to try the outdoor area when I return. Lastly, the brews. One word; excellent. I'm more of a wine drinker, yet I do like the parellels that wine and beer share- the way it rests on the palate and the flavors that arise from the particular glass. I had the Cherry Milk Stout; barley, milk sugar, and Oregon cherries mingle in this full bodied stout making it just the right amount of refreshing and sweet- but not overly sweet. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I also sampled the He'brew She'brew draft IPA, as a huge IPA fan I can say that this one was amazing as well; though the alcohol content was a litle high- 11.0, it was still a delicious brew. We also tried the Wild Berry Cider, which I liked as well. Overall a wonderful drafting experience and if I had a draft pick- this place would be in my number one for the ambiance, the brews and of course the pub decor. I also like the vibrancy and breath of fresh air that is Neil Street.

But it is absolutely worth your time to head out. If you are even remotely close it would be to your benefit to make the trip (even from Chicago or Indy). During the winter they weren't serving food, but they encourage you to bring your own food. I picked up Sonny's Pizza which went really well with the beer and completes your in-town experience. The inside decor is comfortable and inviting with heaters at every table. You can tell that the outside space is likely buzzing all summer long and I am told the food is to die for. One day I hope to make the trek to put that to the test. Finally the beer. The bartender was a joy to talk to and was willing to let us sample any beer we wanted. He said that was because they don't offer flights. The OATS! #4 was as good of a sour as I've had anywhere else. We also took the time to try their two Mad Goat Coffee beers (In case you don't know that is a local coffee shop in Danville that is also worth the trek). The porter was like drinking a rich nitro cold brew. I don't typically drink porters, but this one is well worth the taste. Everything we tried was very good and they had everything from porters, IPAs, sours, ciders, and everything in between. So everyone should be able to find something they like. Seriously, though, if you aren't convinced yet just do yourself a favor and go.

Lot 50 has tables out front as well as a big space inside with a large concrete bar. I don't know what it is I like about concrete bars, but I like 'em. It wasn't very busy at 4:15 on Friday with just two couples sitting out front. I was the only one at the bar. As I was sitting at the bar I noticed there was a YUGE outdoor area off to the side. Lights and all it would be a great spot for a concert when the weather is good. Batch 59 DIPA was really nice! I may be getting inured hops but this one was really smooth. Great flavor all the way through. I think even SWPFTD would enjoy this one. Clurichaun red ale was next. I immediately wondered about the name but right there on the paper menu it said, "Named after the leprechauns drunken, mischievous cousin". I thought leprechauns were mischievous to begin with and being Irish I just assumed they were drunken! Don't get your panties in a wad and all offended, my wife is Irish and I'm Scottish. Besides, the Irish can take a joke! Anyway, this was a very good malty red ale. Stagecoach coffee blonde just didn't work for me. It's probably partially due to my favorite coffee blonde was at a brewery in my former hometown that we frequented weekly for years. You can taste nostalgia sometimes. Shoutout to Sons of Liberty Aleworks! We miss you! Anyway, this was not a bad beer at all, just not quite what I wanted. YMMV of course. The Honeybee brown ale looked more like an amber ale by color. Even by flavor I could have mistaken this for a festbier. That said I truly did enjoy it. I would order another for sure. Last beer for me...notice I said last "beer". Last beer for me was the Frosted Court St stout. A collaboration with "Frosted by Maddie". I don't know for sure what that means but I'm guessing a bakery since it mentions a stout crossed with red velvet cake. This was pretty darn good. I can't say I got the red velvet cake flavor out of it but it was a good beer. As I was hanging out at the bar, you know, doing that drinking and Yelping thing I do, I noticed they had two meads that were brewed in house as well. Sold! The Twisty Foo Orange Creamsicle mead was very tasty. I wouldn't have pegged it as "orange dreamsicle" without a hint but that might be me. Last was the Cosmic Fudge Plum Brownie mead. What do you classify that as? A melomel I guess since it has plum in it. I don't know what you call mead that is brownie flavored. If I had ever smelled and tasted a plum fudge brownie, this is EXACTLY WHAT IT WOULD TASTE LIKE. That is...if it were a mead. The flavors were legit but I didn't love the mead. I like the Twisted Foo better myself. If you are in the area, stop in a Lot 50. I enjoyed it! If anyone is a glutton for punishment, please, follow my brewery, and distillery, reviews from across the U.S. and beyond! https://www.yelp.com/collection/-8iscFkpiiCI563-FDfwGg and if anyone is wondering who SWPFTD is you will have to check out my review of Black Market Brewing Co in Temecula, CA to understand.
