Fast casual burger joint with more than just burgers. Got the greengo and it was super tasty. Cajun fries were yummy too.

We went to the 'Yard' in Urbana as opposed to the Champaign location, it was louder and had options that worked out great for us...kind of a sport bar feel, but family friendly. The in town venue at Neil Street is a quieter feel. We went there primarily for Smith Burgers, but all the vendors here were amazing. The Smash Burgers at Smith's was incredible. Way beyond expectations. Will definitely be back. read more

Well-executed fast casual pub food. The food gets three-and-a-half stars, but the sterile atmosphere knocks it down a peg. The cooks really do the most you can do with Sysco-type ingredients. Burgers -- and even the grilled chicken -- come out juicy. Sandwiches are differentiated by a variety of tasty sauces. The flavors and rich texture beat out any chain burger. Unfortunately, the veggies on the sandwich, which don't get cooked or prepared in something like a slaw, leave something to be desired in terms of flavor and texture. They are "freebies" on the menu and you get what you pay for. The space is well-laid out to pack people around the tables. On a full night, I imagine there is a lively atmosphere. On the other hand, it lacks any distinctive character. You could be at any restaurant with earth tone walls and floor tiles. read more

Located inside of Collective Pour, they have great burgers. I had the Spicy Greenga, two smash burgers with Pepper-jack cheese and Hatch Green Chilies on a Brioche bun. I had fries as my side, you could get sweet potato tots, onion rings, mac & cheese, and more. They also have other sandwiches, and tacos. My burger was $11.50 and the fries another $3.00. Gave them yet another chance, I scheduled an order well in advance and it was 30 minutes late. Don't accept an order if you can't make it on time. It's making a burger it's not heart surgery. There will be no more chances. read more

Excellent smash burger restaurant in downtown! I've heard of their tasty burgers for a long time, but haven't gotten any chance to try yet. Today is a quite sunny day! And it's the last day of the restaurant week, so I decided to go there for a try. I ordered the Average Joe with Onion Rings as the side. It tasted really fresh and delicious! The buns looked so cute hahaha, you can see from pictures that they shined a little. The flavor was not so strong, but thick enough to stand out as a well-made smash burger! These are the best burgers not only in Chambana, but anywhere I've had. Consistently some of the best food across the whole menu, with some fun specials that constantly rotate. Also, try the pretzel! The mustard is fantastic, and the cheese sauce is some of the best I've had. Perfectly salty without going overboard. The cashiers are always very friendly and the food runners are always able to find us. Online orders for pickup work fine as well. read more

The best food truck I have been too! The service was quick and fast and the food was PHENOMENAL! First of all, I ordered two meals and a single burger and I received this round buzzer for when my meal was done. It took about 7/10 mins for it to start buzzing and I walked up and was given my food. It was nice and hot and still good by time I got home. The Cajun fries are great! So crispy and seasoned just right! Same for the burger.. the meat was cooked perfectly and seasoned just as good. I loved everything and finished it faster than I finish most food lol. I know everyone raves about the burgers (and rightfully so), but their shrimp po' boy is OUTSTANDING. Seriously, it's the best po' boy I've ever eaten. It's going to be difficult for me not to go here every week now that I know about it. If you find yourself at Smith, but not necessarily craving a burger, do yourself a favor and try the po' boy. Also, the staff is so nice. We took our 3-year-old and they were so sweet with her, she gave them a hug when we left. So happy they have a storefront downtown. read more

If you're in the market for a $10+ burger that is always perfectly prepared, Smith Burger Co is a great place to consider. Farren's has been my favorite burger in town for years, but Smith is quickly turning into a second favorite. Everything I've tried (and everything my friends have tried) has been excellent from the Plain Jane to the topping-heavy burgers to the "smashville hot" chicken sandwich on special at the time of this review. The onion rings are great, and the Cajun fries are decent. The giant pretzel seemed massively overpriced at $13, but it tasted good. The only real downside is that this place is very loud. It's a fun place to be, but it's not a relaxing place to eat a meal and enjoy conversation, at least during dinner hours. The other things I'd note is that the service is kind of weird. You order at a counter, get a pager, and then a guy brings your food to your table. Beyond that, it's never been clear whether I should expect any other table service. Sometimes someone comes around offering refills. Other times, you stand awkwardly by the kitchen door and wait to make eye contact with someone who is already doing something else. Nobody seems to mind these requests, but it would be nice if it was clearly one or the other. Overall, it's an excellent burger joint. If you're downtown Champaign, I recommend checking it out. read more

I was never notified my order was delivered and had to go hunting for it. This is currently a traveling food truck business with an AMAZING spicy Greenga burger! Don't forget the Cajun fries!!! Absolutely delicious and I look forward seeing them every Wednesday outside Carle South. Customer service is awesome, friendly and professional. They announce where they will be on Facebook and Instagram. I am told if they post it then it is open to the public so they must do catering too. At this time they do have a inside restaurant but I do look forward to seeing that happen. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Smith Burgers. We have had over half the items on their menu and have never found something we didn't like. My favorite 2 items are the Swiss N Shroom and Bacon Mac Attack Ripper. If you haven't tried them yet, do it. You won't be disappointed. read more

Finally got around to eating here today. Everytime I've driven by the bright green trailer, I've either just eaten or been too busy to stop. I showed up just as they were starting to serve, and there was already twenty people in line. I had a slow day so I decided to wait and see what all the hype was about. Boy am I glad I did. Had the "my boy bleu" as is, with the onion rings. The burger had Top quality ground beef; nice, thick bacon; a fine swiss cheese; juicy mushrooms; and some of the most pungent bleu cheese crumbles I've ever had. The onion rings were nice and thick, and weren't over breaded, and the western sauce was perfect with them. Next time I go I'm going to ask them to put that sauce on my burger. I walked into it hungry and could barely finish. The staff were friendly and outgoing, and they had a stack of buzzers, so if you parked close by, you could go wait in your car. read more

I've been meaning to try a burger from here ever since they opened, and thankfully I finally had the chance to try my first one. I tried the Spicy Greenga burger, and it was amazing! Every aspect of the burger was perfect: toasted bun, fresh vegetables, and perfectly seasoned smashburger. The fries were also fantastic as well! Best burger in C-U hands down!!! I'm not into burgers with lots of toppings, but they have them. I'm into basic cheeseburgers. The ones here are cooked perfectly. They're on the thin side - compared to thick burgers - but they're not paper thin like Steak and Shake. You can actually taste the flavor of the meat and can tell it's good quality. I'd eat here every day if I could. I haven't had the sides, but my friends all rave about them - especially the tater tots. Can't wait for my next visit! We had a unique experience last evening that started off negative but turned out very positive. It was the type of customer service experience that in my opinion leaves a lasting impression and led us to leave this review. We visited Collective Pour and ordered our food from Smith Burger Co. We were enjoying our beers so at first we didn't notice quite how long our food was taking (we are pretty laid back & just figured maybe they were REALLY busy or had a bunch of take out orders???), until finally the people seated around us started to get their food. I finally went up to the order counter to ask & it turned out due to a computer error that our order had been completely lost. I didn't freak out or even get slightly upset but did ask if they might be able to do something extra for us. The person at the counter said they would check it out & get in touch with the manager. It turned out it had been over an hour since we ordered (and their normal orders take nowhere near that time). The manager showed up at our table within approx five minutes and said he had spoken to the owner. They ended up comping our food, which we received about the same time (and btw was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS). On top of that they gave us a $20 gift card towards a future visit. We will be back for sure. THIS is the way to run a business!!!! Sh*t happens and when you make it right, you have an opportunity to create this type of impression that the customer will remember you by and tell others about and has very little to do with the "free food". read more

I have been hearing about this food truck for quite sometime. Every time I have seen it there is always a line of people so I never stopped. However today they were stationed at Carle South Clinic in Urbana, ILLINOIS. There was still a line however it wasn't even 12pm. I ordered the All -American and they gave me this cute little vibrate and flash thing so I could go wait back in my truck because it is most certainly cold here now. The wait wasn't long and my food was made fresh on the spot. I truly enjoyed the burger. I am not a big person on fries but they were actually ok.
