    Harvest Burger

MEAL: Breakfast ORDER TYPE: Dine-in EST.: 1983 FIRST LOCATION: 1983 - Champaign, IL MY ORDER EXPERIENCE Am I in a movie or real life? Do you know this place runs for 24*7 365 days? As we went in, just like my buddy said, the place was crowded, and we had to wait in line to be seated. 15 mins passed, and we were finally seated. The menu was old school printed on paper which I liked. As I was Vegan for a day, I had a hard time finding a vegetarian meal. I asked the server for their house special, but it turned out to be meat. Upon investigating and scanning through I found Harvest Burger from their Sandwiches section and ordered a limited time Caramel Milk Shake. The Harvest Burger came with Bread where patty and cheese was placed in between. On the side they gave me onions, lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles with mayonnaise. Along with the burger I also got hash browns. The burger was soft, and all the veggies looked fresh. Mayonnaise was the best. The Caramel Milkshake was delicious. As we were eating, one of the staff explained about the Diner's history. The fun facts were that the diner opened in 1983 and since then the diner has not been renovated except for the roof. So, we were experiencing and seeing the same diner from 1983. Isn't that amazing? The owner wants to keep it that way. The other interesting thing is all the tables are around the kitchen area where there are gaps. The server can come between the gaps where he can take and serve the order in the quickest possible way. Overall, the food was good. The staff was humble. This was my first time going to a diner, where it reminded me of the diner from the 2 Broke Girls TV series. The prices are super reasonable and affordable considering the students coming in which was thoughtful of the place. Sometimes, finding a parking spot can be challenging if there are any major events going on in the college. I will go back again for more experience. I would suggest this place to anyone who has old school experiences.

This place is always crowded and is a UIUC establishment. We luckily got a table on a Sunday morning while some of the college students were away on break. I ordered a coffee and an omelet. The food is nothing special. The service was great, everyone made sure my coffee was kept full. The prices are decent in comparison to other places. This is a fun place to try once.

We had a fantastic breakfast here. The food arrived pretty quickly. The waitress was on the spot and knew all the right questions to ask. I had the two egg breakfast and chose bacon and it comes with hash browns. Husband ordered a Denver omelet and he thought it was good. The booths were comfortable.

Came here for a late night dinner. Can't complain about the food because I received exactly what I ordered. Greasy, quick and inexpensive food makes this place a step up from a waffle house. Service was friendly and the joint has that classic diner aesthetic.

Do they wash their hands after using the bathroom? Can the Health Department make them do that?

Yes they wash thir hands frequently. No the health department can't make you do anything they can just punish you for not becoming a government slave.

She consulted her supervisor, and the two were able to lay out for me what items were suitable with a complete list of ingredients and allergens! The sliders themselves use a vegan-friendly bun, and the patty can be exchanged for a plant-based one. The tofu tacos simply need to have the sour cream held. The sweet potato fries (and I presume the normal ones) are fried using the same oil as other foods, so people should take that into consideration should they wish, but they're otherwise okay. I ordered the tofu tacos and the sweet potato fries. Excellent meal! The music being played was Nintendo-themed covers and remixes, which I was definitely able to appreciate!

Reviews on Yelp were not stellar for the area, for a quick sit down meal, until I saw Sammy's listed. Even though it was not right next to the highway we decided to head there. I believed it's a locally owned small business and they were still serving breakfast, Parking was not a problem and when we entered, we were greeted immediately. Our server came to our table shortly after sitting, she was pleasant, and checked in with us multiple times. My husband had biscuits and gravy; which was perfectly seasoned. One friend got an omelet with pancakes, she said everything was good, especially the pancakes because she's really picky about those. My other friend got the supreme burrito. He said was good but nothing he would get again. When he cut into it, it fell apart because there was nothing binding it together. It had plain ground beef and lots of lettuce His only suggestion would be to add some type of sauce or seasoning, offer sour cream. I had a BLT, fries, and coffee. The BLT was a normal sandwich and tasted good, the coffee was good, the fries were pretty basic and by the time they got to me, they were on the cooler side. I only ever planned to eat a couple otherwise I would have asked for a replacement. I scored this a 4 star because it was a nice place and if someone was asking for recommendations I wouldn't hesitate to send them here.

The restaurant is always clean, and the mature servers are always very pleasant to deal with There were things I did not like. Even though there were about a dozen open tables, the hostess attempted to seat me, a solitary woman, handicapped and limping in the corner next to the bathrooms. I find this happens a lot at Bob Evans, when I am alone and I don't appreciate it. The other thing that really bothered me was that the cashier person (younger female) at the counter accepting payment loudly bragged to a younger male waiter that he had been tipped $100 by a group of young people. Then both of them laughed and made fun of the young man who had tipped so very well because they assumed that he had used Daddy's credit card and even stated that it was easy to be generous when you were using Daddy's card. I personally thought that they were ingrates, inappropriately loud, and it made me glad that they had not served me. Furthermore, I wasn't even thanked because they were so busy making fun of the generous party that had left just before me. This type of behavior needs to be resolved by management. It was tasteful and highly unacceptable.
