Herb Crusted Lamb Chops, NY Strip (14 oz.), Shrimp & Scallop Scampi
    Eriko K.

The three of us chose this place for a special occasion dinner. My NY steak was crusty and flavorful on the outside and juicy on the inside. We had it with the creamy mashed potato. My Baxter's salad was lovely. My husband got a mocktail, encouraged that the bar can make a non-alcoholic version of just about any of the many cocktails on the menu, at around half the price of the cocktail upon which it was derived. My dining companions had shrimp and scallop pasta with artichoke in a light and soothing sauce, and hearty lamb chops. We received a complimentary gooey cake with chocolate ice cream. Decadent! Oh, forgot to mention, the Caesar's salad was tangy and sublime.

We were really impressed; came here in a whim. The staff was friendly and food was fresh and cooked to perfection. They accommodated making something off menu- the smothered pork chop instead of chicken, and my fiance loved it.

Food was great! We ordered two shared plates and two house dishes. However, we waited for a long time for the food.

This is the most delicious steak I have tried in local steak houses. It is very tender, perfect in everything, from seasoning to roasting. I highly recommend it!

Definitely a higher end meal in the CU area! We had the ribeye steak and it was so filling! The meat was cooked to a perfect medium rare, was juicy, and was very nicely flavored! Mash potatoes was just the perfect amount of chunky and creamy. Broccoli was okay, of course not the star of the show. Staff was kind! Check this place out for your next date night, fancy celebration, or hangout with friends!

In town for a conference and Baxter's was close to the hotel and had good reviews so we stopped in for dinner. No wait and seated immediately. It's a nice atmosphere where you could go for a special occasion or just a casual dinner. The attire was mixed when observing other patrons. We were business casual and felt comfortable. We skipped the appetizer and had a couple of drinks. The lemon drop martinis were good. Another person in our party ordered the local craft beer and said it was good as well. I had the smother pork chop, and it was the best one I have ever had. Cooked perfectly. Served over potatoes. Definitely recommend.

We arrived early on a Saturday evening and we were seated right away the place is dim and good For a date night or secret meet up soon after the place was pretty full so we just beat the rush we came here with the rumors of a great prime rib being served Fridays and Saturdays so we showed up with the idea of having a prime rib dinner and they were pretty spot on the prime rib was awesome and the horseradish sauce was on point so before the main meal I ordered some small plates of wings and drunken mushrooms the wings were cooked perfectly and very flavorful great choice and the drunken mushrooms were really good but messy which I wasn't ready for As the main course arrived it looked as great as it tasted cooked to perfection and taste was very beefy and delicious So next time I have a craving for prime rib I know exactly where to get my fix Enjoy

I would give him ten stars if it was possible. There were 4 adults in our party and an 18 month old (very busy boy). He initiated contact by talking directly to him, high fiving and knuckles and then gave him a dollar so he was making an impression early as a good guy. While we looked at the menu for food and drinks he suggested we get something started for the little guy since he was hungry (GREAT IDEA). He then took our drink order and got right to it. He checked in with us frequently, offered sauce suggestions and refreshed our adult beverages and drinks as often as they were partially full (that is GREAT service). Once dinner was underway, and our little one wanted something to do, we took turns in the lobby to help him get the wiggles out. As dinner was coming to an end, our said little, starting putting up a big fuss because it was time for bed, so when Brian took our credit card, he asked if he could show him around, and within our eyesight he did just that, which the newness calmed our little one down, and he promptly brought him back. BEST service I have ever experienced at a restaurant. Thank you. Food was tasty and filling, thank you for that too!

To some the masquerade will come off as silly -- and not worth the added price -- but many seem to enjoy being swept up in the art deco interiors and old school dishes. The food is like the theme park version of a steak dinner. We ordered from the Restaurant Week menu: a pair of salads, and the beef tenderloin tails and Parmesan crust chicken as entrees. All of the flavors were cranked up to a level that would stand up against a steak. Both entrees came with mashed potatoes and green beans that were heavy on the garlic. It was hard to taste the underlying vegetables, with all of the seasoning. The preparation makes some sense if you think of a steak with demi-glace as the centerpiece, but they overpowered the chicken handily. The salad dressings were equally strong. In particular, the spinach salad had a dressing like sweet-and-sour sauce that was jelly-like with rendered bacon fat. The entrees themselves were competent but not remarkable. The tenderloin was cooked medium rare, and two thirds had a creamy interior with crisp char on the outside. The last third, however, was tough and required some sawing with the dull steak knife. The chicken had either brined or sat on the heater for too long. It had some juice left but was also tough. Perhaps the best item we ordered was the kids cheeseburger. Well-done with oversized steak fries on the side -- simple enough that you could taste both the ground beef and the potato. The food itself warrants three stars. And here is a tip: the local Costco sells gift cards to the restaurant with a 20% discount. Where a meal can easily run $50 here, knocking the tab down to $40 might be worth it for a special occasion. The service, however, knocks the review down by a star. The kitchen lost our ticket and, as a result, our party waited forty minutes following the salad for the first entree to arrive to the table, plus another fifteen for the second and third. The chef was very gracious and apologetic when he brought the final dishes out personally. However, the fact that his arrival was the first time the staff acknowledged a problem to us -- long after they had discovered the issue and begun addressing it -- suggests that there is a larger breakdown between the back and front of house. I had thought that a 6 pm reservation would get our family home early on a school night but I was quite mistaken. Probably they won't lose your ticket when you dine in, but I will think twice before getting back in line for the theme park ride.

We enjoyed our dishes (pictures included) and unlike other Italian restaurants that often provide huge portions, these meals were appropriately portioned and filling. We also had the tiramisu for dessert; it was different than what we are accustomed too. Much more creamy and more like a pudding than a cake. Overall we enjoyed our experience and dinner!
