Fair warning that this place opened fairly recently, so my experience could be quite different from…read morehow they operate in the future. I went to Tacool the first few days after they opened hoping to find a new spot right in the center of campus for a quick lunch. I ordered an al pastor torta, which was about $12 after tax. After waiting a bit, I finally got my order and was satisfied, but felt that it could have been a lot more flavorful compared to other tortas at similar or cheaper prices around campus. I have yet to try other items on their menu, like their tacos or flautas which I've heard were decent by word of mouth, but my experience here was only average at best. Given the amount of similar food on campus, I'm not planning on re-visiting, but since this restaurant is also in the middle of campus I may eventually come around to it anyways. Overall, I think one would still have to try Tacool for themselves and decide.

It's also open til late compared to a lot of other restaurants (11pm), and the servers are nice without being too much. I usually get the Alex Tacos, what they're known for, which come with a mound of meat on each and these little grilled onion bulbs (I don't know what they're called) that I really love for some reason. Last night, I went for a friend's birthday dinner, and we got blended mango, passion fruit, and strawberry margarita pitchers and shared. They gave us sugar rimmed glasses with a sliced lime; it was a fun time! They also give you free chips and salsa which were gone within the first 5 minutes of us being there, but they refilled them for us :) Half of us got Alex tacos and other half got burritos. The ones that got burritos did comment that there were a lot of beans and not that much meat in them. Will still keep going every once in a while when I want some late night mexican food.

It is definitely worth the effort to get to Maize for lunch or dinner. The food is made fresh. The tortillas are homemade. The ambiance is quaint in an old train station. The blue corn tortillas were delish! I also had a Riggs IPA which is an Urbana beer company. It was refreshing. The service was excellent too. My bill was $30. Not cheap but I was full and very satisfied that my lunch was healthy and fresh.

Bottom line. Delicious Burrito…read more It's my first time visiting/trying their food. I'm in Champaign for a bowling tournament. After the tournament, I was hungry and I want to eat some food before going on my 145 mile drive North to where I live. Mo's came up and I went. I passed the location the first time because I didn't think it's a food truck. I circled back and parked. I ordered a steak burrito. It came with two little containers of green and red sauce. I got my order within a few minutes and jumped into my car. I ate the burrito in my car. Soo hungry! Burrito tasted very good w/o sauce. Then, I tried both sauce. Man... It's delicious! I ate it all, drank some water, and I'm off to go home. If you haven't tried Mo's, you must!

But their food is a huge fail. I've had nothing but disappointment with whatever I order. They also don't give you much with your taco salad except the beef/chicken and lettuce. Everywhere else I've eaten this salad they serve chopped tomato, guacamole, shredded cheese and sour cream.
