Black Diamond has become a favorite stop for me after work. The beer selection is always good; the nachos and wings are tasty. The wait staff have always been friendly and are usually attentive. TV selection is good for watching a game. The 5:00 crowd is always mellow and I have never encountered any problems. Bottom line: Great place for pool or an after work drink. read more

I had three drinks and was playing cards for probably 45 minutes when my roommate went to get me another drink and they said I was cutoff and couldn't gamble anymore and had to leave. Granted, I had been gambling for 45 minutes to an hour before they decided to cut me off and follow me to the parking lot and have a security guard make sure my roommate was driving home. I get not serving anymore alcohol if they felt like I was intoxicated but why let me gamble for over an hour and then tell me to leave. I have never had this happen ever before and was quite shocked. They used to have really good food but it is ridiculously expensive. Since they have switched owners and did a few updates everything has gone up significantly. I used to love their garlic fries (when it was made with real garlic), now they just sprinkle it with garlic powder and call it good. I'm not super impressed with their new menu either. We came to black diamond last Sunday to use our groupon. The hostess sat us, got us our drinks and told us our server would be right with us. 20 minutes later no one came to take our order or came to check on us. As we watched 2 waitress' clean up a table together and talk for 10 minutes to each other, we decided to leave. There was blaring heavy metal music in the dining side that made it hard for anyone in the dining area to have a conversation. There should be some separation between the pool hall and the dining room. I would rather let the groupon expire than go back. I do not recommend the black diamond to anyone trying to have dinner. Last night was my first night for my boyfriends birthday. It seemed very overwhelming for the staff and took longer than I expected for drinks and food. I loved the jalapeño wontons- absolutely delicious. The cheesy tater tots were awful and bland. But, our waiter was swamped and took longer, and forgot drinks but we ended up going to bar to get them. We waited about 30 minutes for a pool table to open and had fun once we got one. First time at this place and my expierience was not okay . Our server Brandon was aweful ! Our food took 45 mins to get to us when we went there quite hungry. When we looked around to try to find him he was sitting down at another table. Good food, huge menu for food and drinks. The problem with this place is they allow young children even though there is a sign that states no minors. Two wome with 4 very young children walking with them marched past our table. The servers brought them a beer and wine. Nobody told the children were not allowed. Stopped into the Black Diamond last Friday with some friends for a few drinks and eats. The place was pretty busy but we were able to find a table in the pool table area. Our server was outstanding and took great care of us. The beers were cold and the food was tasty. We only got items off the appetizer menu and they hit the spot. We showed up early for Yelp event and stayed a while after. The sea of pool tables reminded me of my favorite college bar. There is a wIde selection of beer on tap (or at least there was at the event, don't know about other times), and the servers were fast and friendly. When I called to see about a reservation the manager was friendly and said we could stay until 9:00. Our waitress, Courtney, greeted us and made sure we had tables near 2 pool tables. From the minute we walked in we were treated like royalty. Courtney made sure everyone got drinks and they never stopped coming. A small army helped get us our food. This is not typical bar food!
