There's a sign right when you walk in basically saying they're short staffed and be prepared for long waits and poor service. I get it. These are trying times. But even graded on a curve and relative to other like businesses it's pretty janky. 10-15 minute wait to put in a drink order. Another 5-10 to get said drinks. What're you going to do? Service was friendly and it's not their fault. Mixed drinks were incredibly watered down. I actually sobered up drinking my $8.50 Long Island Iced Tea. No lie. Overwhelming sweetness and couldn't detect a drop of alcohol. GF's drink was the same. Sad! Beer and cider was fine and I'd suggest going this route. Pool tables are decent and there's a wide availability of 7' and 9' tables. Not a lot of cues to choose from however, and chalk was hard to find. Getting a table also meant working through bartenders which was painfully slow as described above. Prices are reasonable. Overall vibe is relaxed with lots of mixed couples having mostly wholesome good times. There's a little lounge on the side where they hosted a comedy night. This was pretty dang cool. Really good space and the promoter did a great job moving things along and churning out the yuks and guffaws. We ordered drinks over here too and it was kinda a big deal for them to connect with our existing tab in the pool area, and then it took 15-20 to get the drinks which were basically virgin so this ultimately sucked. Nice server though. Genuine and friendly if completely over-whelmed. There was a dog running around off leash when we were in there and going behind the bar. This was cute and kinda gross in equal measure. More gross now that I think back on it in a state of full-on sobriety. In any case, thought it was worth mentioning. read more

I've been here a number of times, they even hosted a Yelp event. They have an awesome selection of beer. Some taps are even local Spokane breweries. Food is usually your typical pub style fare. Nothing extraordinary, but it's always been decent. They did have deep fried bacon with a sausage gravy dipping sauce this last time...Sure, it's not healthy, but it was darn good. Thought that we'd support a freedom loving business this Sunday evening but our presence was not even acknowledged so we probably won't be missed. There was not a huge crowd in the place but people were there. Sign at the door said to seat ourselves so we did. In the 15 minutes we waited to be noticed, we saw only two staff. One girl was really hustling, the other was really NOT! We didn't see anything at table indicating it was self service but we went to the bar to get menus. The not hustling girl saw us then proceeded to pick up her phone. After another 3-4 minutes we walked out. Yes, being closed or being restricted is on the governor but bad, bad, bad service is in them! Tough to support a business that is indifferent to our business. read more

If you like to play pool, this is definitely a good place to go. Lots of room and lots of tables. Despite what one reviewer said, the tables all seemed to be in good shape to me. They also have a dedicated darts area out of the way. This is a plus for me because it seems a lot of places put their dartboards close to where people are sitting or in the path of staff and customer traffic, making game play a frustrating experience. Also impressed with their wide variety of beers. Spokane is starting to come into its own as a microbrew destination, and the more places like Black Diamond that support craft brews the better. Unfortunately, the food is pretty average if not kinda disappointing. Nachos had everything pretty much on top, which means that soon all the goodies were gone and you were left with a ton of sad chips. Taking the time to layer chips and goodies should be taken into consideration, especially for the price of the nachos. Cheese sticks. Very ordinary. Tasted like something I could have gotten out of the freezer section of the grocery store, complete with freezer burn. Wings. Standard flavor, again tasted like something from the grocery store. All the food seems to have a premium price without much real effort on preparation. I want to end on a positive note, so I will say the staff is all very friendly and they did a good job of tending to our needs. I was visiting Spokane and went with a friend to watch a pool tournament. We got there early and I got to watch the last half of the Seahawks game. In fact the game was everywhere. Between a couple of projection systems and a large number of flat screens, you could be anywhere in the bar and look in any direction to see the game. It looked like they accommodated a couple of private viewing parties. I was there for the pool. The pool room layout was great. Plenty of room between the tables. The tourney tables were is really good shape with the upgraded tops. I ordered off the Seahawks happy hour menu. They were out of the fried macaroni so I ordered the tots and the skewers. The Tots were ok. Could have used a bit more bacon and blue cheese but it was good. The only reason I took a star from the review was the beef skewers. One had three pieces of gristle meat and the other had two pieces of meat. I kind of got the feeling they were mostly out and threw this last order together. Inslee shut us down again but the black diamond never stops! They are currently doing only take out. We had "The beast" and "Jalapeño burger" soooooo amazing! The buns hold up and are the perfect thickness. One thing I dislike about some burgers is when you eat them the patty falls out or it just falls apart. These held together perfectly. The survived the 10 min drive home and were not soggy at all. They have burger pattys with different types of meat. The regular is chuck, brisket, and shortrib all ground together. SO GOOD!!! I've had an account on yelp for a long time, unfortunately my first review is a bad one. I've been here multiple times and have had great service, however tonight was awful. We've never experienced such bad service like this in the past or anywhere else. Couple friends were up there early around 5pm, and they were able to get a table and order their drinks. However by the time the rest of our crew arrived, no server came by our area to even check on us. We had to go to the bar to make an order for more drinks. Couple hours went by and still not a single server came by or even acknowledge we were there. We had to go back and make our food order at the bar. We decided to try and order the Garlic Parmesan Fries to start which you think will be an easy one to make; by the time we got it, it was stale and at a room temperature. We requested couple waters from the server that brought our food, and she never came back. We had to go back to the bar again for our waters. It's like we had to be our own servers, or like we weren't even there. It took three hours for someone to come check on us, by then we were ready to leave. I am surprised we were patient enough to wait that long as well. It's going to take me a while to go back, if I do. read more

I have to preface I'm a pool player and have spent many, many hours here, both for league and practice. It's a very large establishment with (I believe) 16 ish pool tables, half are 7' and the other half are 9'. This is the only pool hall I know in Spokane with 9' tables. As far as I know, they refelt their tables each year with the Simonis 860 tournament blue. It's one of the few places where the table costs $0.75 for the 7' and the 9' costs is by time aka it's more expensive on the whole. It's second rate to another establishment based on the tables alone. Other things to do: there are three dart boards, large TV's, a shuffleboard, additional large areas for dancing and (not sure if they still do this) trivia. There's a pot store right next door so I guess you can get some pot and then walk across the street to WinCo which is open 24/7 to get munchies afterwards. As far as food and service...food is slightly better than most other bar food, but it's also more expensive so no thanks. Service is hit or miss, but mostly miss. Unless it's Natalie. She's had a lot of experience serving pool players, has spunk and will take care of you! read more
