Located off Anderson Mill in the corner of a strip mall is a bookshelf with a door on the right side. If you cannot figure out the entrance, there is a doorbell to ring as well. I believe it is owned by the same people who own The Mill bar right next door, which makes it feel like a cool bonus space. My friend and I sat next to a faux fireplace, where we were greeted by the only bartender working and placed our order. Once he opened the tab, it was disappointing that he never came back to check if we wanted another drink. It wasn't super busy on the Monday we went, but since he was the only one manning the bar, the bartender was always doing something, so I don't blame him fully for not checking back in with us. I ordered a drink called the Velvet Vice. It looked nothing like the picture and tasted similar to an Aviation cocktail with egg whites. I happened to really like it. It is a very relaxed space, but once the speakeasy gimmick wears off, it does not have much else going for it. It is still a cool place, but I am not sure it was worth the lengthy drive to get there. First, the menu needs a rewrite for content and clarity. For example, buying fajitas doesn't list guacamole and based on size, single, for two and family you get more sides of rice or beans. There's no definition of how much actual meat you get and our server couldn't provide that information beyond a rough estimate. Second, the fajitas we got of family size and for two portions for 7 were not consistently cooked. We asked for medium rare and got about 25% at that with the ones in the center at a more well done. Again, the multiple tiny sides were more obnoxious than anything as it's legit beans and rice unless you want to upcharge. The cilantro lime rice tastes like nothing so skip that and go for abuelita rice which has a hint of flavor. Overall, the butter/gravy that go on the fajitas is the real winner but again a menu where you overbuy and misunderstand (that doesn't even list extras like guacamole or a simple small queso) was beyond frustrating. I would stick to them for one to possibly get a better cook.

Was I disappointed that I forgot the gift card at home on the counter? Not more than a minute after we walked up to the counter. The woman who helped us is a bright white cloud in the Texas sky. She was so sweet and folded effortlessly into my conversation with my husband about what looked good, what we were craving, and what we were looking for. She saved us both! We wouldn't have experienced the Pirata Tacos (HUGE) and the Achiote Smoked Chicken Salad, had we not met her. Zak was going to get a Fajita Taco and I was leaning toward the Pulled Pork or a Smash Burger. Boy, were we wrong! They are MEAT MASTERS! Epic. I'm glad the tacos were so fat, because we were able to take it home and re-purpose for dinner! I wanted to take a picture of the salad for you, because the presentation was on point, but it smelled so good my mouth was watering, so I thought I'd take a photo with my fork sticking out of it after the first bite, but then I just couldn't bring myself to pause. I guess you'll just have to trust me. So, am I sad that I forgot the gift card at home? NAH. I'll be back for sure 100 times over. Next stop will be for some eats AND drinks and perhaps some live music. OH! I had the Chocolate Tres Leche cake too! It was delicious.

The hush puppies, fries, fried shrimp, and fried catfish are all great. I visited for the first time this year during crawfish season and had high hopes, but left severely disappointed. The crawfish are steamed in a bag, which already limits how much flavor can develop. They then add what appears to be an ice cream scoop of seasoning, with herbs, garlic, onions, and whatever else, dropped into the corner of the bag. When I got my order, it was clear no one had shaken or distributed it. The seasoning sat in one clump on top of about four crawfish while the rest were completely bland, tasting like steamed broccoli with no flavor whatsoever. At $13 a pound, this is pretty unacceptable. I do my own crawfish boils and I'll admit I have high standards, but this felt like the bare minimum effort for a seafood restaurant. When I told our server the crawfish were tasteless and that all the seasoning was piled on one side, she just shrugged and said, "Yeah, I'm sorry." I really liked this place before this visit. not sure if I'll be back for the fried food, but I won't be ordering the crawfish again.

Tucked into a nondescript strip center this place has an extensive menu with something for all types of Indian food lovers! The chicken was cooked so well it fell off the bone the spices were perfect for our tastes. The saag chicken was a balanced blend of spinach and tender chunks of chicken in a creamy sauce that melted in your mouth. For us the star of the show was the Peshawari Naan...well baked and infused with nuts, raisins and coconut flakes this naan was served warm and the perfect compliment to any meal! Having just found this place we are sure to go back to try their other dishes but we will be ordering the Peshawari Naan with every meal!
