This is a long overdue review i've been meaning to make as I struggled for months recovering from living here. Let's start with move in: Once I was approved for an apartment here the unit I looked at was "a different price" than what the realtor offered. I didn't have too much to say because I was moving all the way from California on a time crunch so I just stuck with the unit within my price range. My apartment: yeah this is a luxury apartment complex with thin walls, rude neighbors, strangers always walked in and out of the building, AND the rudest leasing staff on the planet. The luxury of this place was being able to leave. My apartment leaked and they still left some of the water damage on my walls things were always breaking and my unit had not been upgraded in years. I moved into a place where stains were in my drawers. The hallway carpets all have super dirty stains and the walls have scuff marks so everytime my mom visited she would call out how dirty it was lol Also everytime i had an issue calling the lessening staff was a dread they were always so rude and never knew what I would be asking them about which is BEYOND annoying. Lastly let's not forget the lovely fire alarms. Living at the bishop for two years the fire alarm went off every month for days or weeks on end ALWAYS around 3:00 am- 5:00 am or randomly in the middle of the day. YOU WANT TO KNOW WHAT THEY BLAMED IT ON ONCE? The blamed it on people smoking in their units so for two years straight someone is smoking at 2am - 5am ..... yeah no there's something wrong with the alarm system. Truly the best part about this place was leaving and the place I live at now is so peaceful that i'm so shocked I let myself stress over this place. I really hope the Bishop has changed since moving from here in June because this apartment HAS POTENTIAL and it is in a beautiful location. read more

Horrible horrible horrible! Despite the horrible reviews I tried to give this place a chance because my daughter's school is zoned for this apartment building.. wrong idea! I came for my appointment yesterday, and they didn't have the code for the self guided tour, no keys nothing and were very dismissive about. They did apologize about it so I said okay I'll give them another try! I come back today, FOR A SELF GUIDED TOUR AND SHE TELLS ME 7 MINS BEFORE 1 THEY ARE ABOUT TO CLOSE! I'm going on a self guided tour, why does that matter if you are closed or not? These people really don't care, there's no where on a website does it say they will be closed for a hour for lunch so I'm just confused? There's only 1 person working on a Wednesday? I take everything as a sign so it's okay def won't be moving here but they really need to do better accommodating future residents read more

Equity Residential has ruined the Bishop. If I could give 0 stars, I would. DO NOT MOVE HERE! This place has been very unprofessional and does not care much for it's tenants. Equity Residental has ruined The Bishop. Since the apartment has been over taken by equity residential they have had several issues. We had an issue with our refrigerator where the circuit kept tripping and it went unresolved for two weeks+ causing us to throw away food in our fridge. We had to use coolers to keep our food cold. Lately, Valet Living has not been picking up our trash at our apartment. A service we pay $30 a month for. The leasing office gave us a written warning for leaving our trash out because it was not picked up by Valet Living. When I went to the leasing office, they said they understood and would correct it. Today, Mr. Jeff Martin, a real swell guy and community manager who did not return my call from this morning took the time instead to fine us for once again Valet Living not doing their job. read more

Dumbest thing I've ever heard of. They are insisting that they do a whole site inspection the next 3 days DURING A PANDEMIC. They are going to have 3 or so minimum wage guys spread covid all over the apartment complex. If any person has it they will spread it on to all of us. I am immune compormised and will not put up with this. You should know of the strong arm tactics and general stupidity here. August 16th Notice of Entry Attention Residents, The Bishop will be conducting interior unit inspections on Tuesday August 18th through Thursday August 20th. The inspections will begin each day around 9:00 AM and should be completed no later than 5:00 PM. The team will be in each apartment for only a few minutes. Took a tour of The Bishop the other day and really liked the property. Kayla was the leasing agent that gave me the tour. She was really friendly and super informative. The property was clean and seemed to be kept up well. I see a lot of negative reviews on here but it appears to be a nice property to me and in a really convenient area. Most people only write reviews when they have something to complain about anyway and never when they have something nice to say. read more

Don't move here i moved in dec 31st and THEY didn't charge me the correct amount and i was supposed to get 6 weeks credit i was supposed to be able to use at my discretion upon move in i never saw those credit instead they put towards my move in fees which is ok but that's not how I planned on using it come Feb first i pay my first rent then comes Feb 12Th they send an email saying I owe $1400+.... like is you cool?! clearly had me Fckd tf Fck up cause why would u basically wait till the middle of the month to try to charge me for something i should've been charged during move in, in DEC???!!!! Here's march they don't do like other apts where you see your balance before the 1st of the month so if you have any questions you can have answers so now they upped my rent which has been 1853 to 2083 like IKYFL like if y'all want me to crash out just say that fr im looking for a new place and getting THEEEEEE FCK out this ghetto MF! on top of that the carpets in the hallway nasty then a mf and ppl don't clean after they nasty mutts and the fire alarm always going off! If you are wondering about signing a lease from the Bishop, please read this review for a comprehensive look at the experience. I wanted to make this post for two reasons: 1) The Bishop owes my girlfriend and me $750 in unpaid Rentgrata credits (owed since 3/2020) but has ignored all emails and phone calls. 2) The high rating listed on Google Reviews is incredibly inflated because the Bishop hosts community events/raffles where they ask for reviews in exchange for a chance at a prize. If a review is short and sweet, take it with a grain of salt. My girlfriend and I lived in the Bishop Quarters building from 5/2020 to 8/2021. TLDR: The units are nice but overpriced. The amenities are decent. Alternative apartment complexes may spare you endless headaches and sleepless nights created by the tenants and staff. The Good: Maintenance & Housekeeping crew: On-call staff is quick and professional. The groundskeepers, pool cleaners, and janitors do a great job keeping shared spaces clean. Gyms: Small but will suffice for those looking for a quick workout. They canceled the Peloton membership, so you will need to purchase your own monthly subscription to use it. The weights occasionally go missing. Pools & Outdoor areas: Overall nice spaces. Community events: Farmers' markets and food trucks are a nice treat. The staff tries to create other community events, but COVID has made these events more difficult to plan. Location: Some nice restaurants, but nothing exciting within walking distance. The Bad: Price Hikes: I signed a lease for about $1400 in May 2020. I heard a couple in the leasing office quoted $2100 for a single (prices may vary, so contact the office to determine exact prices) in August 2021. The national median rent increase over the past year is 11%. This is a 47% increase. Again, I don't have exact numbers, but I'm 99% confident it will be much larger than the national median. Safety: I felt relatively safe while in the apartment, but the parking garages attracted petty crime. While I was at the Bishop, two cars had their wheels stolen and were placed on blocks. One of those cars had its windows smashed. I encountered a few individuals testing car locks at night. The Bishop stated that they would add cameras to the parking facility but did not. There were a few accidents and a couple of murders within a two-mile radius, but overall quiet neighborhood. Rowdy tenants: I think this is a common theme among the bad reviews. I knew the building attracted a younger, maybe louder crowd, but it was worse than expected. On weekends, crowds of people gathered at the Quarters pool that played music from 12 am to 4:00 am. The occasional altercation flairs up; beer bottles are always left for the staff to clean up. Dog poop: I love seeing dogs around the place, but this comes with dog poop. Many owners elect not to dispose of dog waste outside, and some let their dogs poop in the elevator and stairwell! The Bishop said they were "willing to start testing DNA in dog feces" to determine pooping culprits. This "threat" did not resolve any issues. Non-tenants: After talking to unfamiliar faces at the Quarters pool, I realized that some tenants rent their units on Airbnb. This is not allowed in the contract. Once visitors have a key fob, they can let any number of people in, which could explain some of the parties that occur on the weekends. The Staff: The Bishop property was sold to RangeWater Real Estate sometime in the past year. The company subsequently replaced the leasing agents with their own staff. The staff is overall friendly but largely incompetent and poorly trained. I could understand issues during the transition phase, but I had issues with the staff 5-6 months post-transition. Here is an example: Everything you request gets added as a note in a physical book in the leasing office. We requested an address change for our move four times, four notes were added in the book, but the system online was never updated. Once we moved, we waited one month for our security deposit before inquiring about it. It turns out the staff never changed the address and sent the security deposit to our old address at the Bishop. Rentgrata: This service would be cool if the Bishop actually used it. If you visit the Bishop's website, there is an opportunity to ask current residents questions. If you ask a question and the resident answers, both parties will receive some money (it was $375 when we participated, now decreased to $100). However, the Bishop just hopes you forget about the money aspect. We have called 50+ times, had numerous conversations with staff and management, and have talked with Rentgrata directly. Rentgrata says that the Bishop did not connect their account properly, so it was impossible to determine who signed a lease after having a conversation. I only know that people have converted because I manually went over lease agreements and message timestamps with Bishop staff. read more

Please avoid this place by all means, worst apartment I have ever lived at don't let the nice reviews from recent movers fool you. I lived here for almost 1 year here, the place is never cleaned, dog poop everywhere, let night parties at the lobby, the parking situation is ridiculous. They booted and towed my friends car twice even though they told me to park where I parked. When I signed my lease they told me guests can't park inside the gate because of that my friend cars got booted twice. Now I have to get a parking pass from them every time I have a visitor, and it's limited to only 1 pass at a time so if i have more than friend coming through that sucks for me . No security at all I have seen my neighbor cars get broken into multiple times. If you paying this much for rent you better off anywhere else. Horrible management cant even put in a complaint because Desiree felt like my complaint wasn't valid enough, i appreciate Jonathan for the all the help it seems like he is the only professional here. read more

I love living at the Bishop. The location is convenient from anywhere in Atlanta and I love being able to walk to MARTA & Perimeter Mall. We can easily walk to 10+ great restaurants too. The facilities are clean & the staff is fun and attentive. Any minor maintenance issues have been handled quickly. read more

We came and toured this place this week and the property was very clean and nice! Michael from the leasing office was incredibly helpful and made the touring process a breeze. Options, amenities, and fees were all explained very thoroughly. Saw the gym only from the windows but it looked good. They have one with lots of weights and machines and one for cardio and a yoga studio! They also have 2 pools with one being a rooftop pool! Would definitely recommend checking this place out! read more

If I could do zero stars I would. I have been living here for four years now and it's went from okay, to bad to worse. The hallways are so dirty that it's embarrassing to invite people to your house. Elevators, pools, doors, gates, fabs, fire alarms all break on the regular. No one cleans the hallways on my floor anymore. Trash is always everywhere and it takes weeks to remove. Lately they have been evicting people to collect as many fees as possible. There is zero grace period. After the first you pay 200. On the 10th you pay another 200 plus court fees. Plus it sits on your credit. These people are savages looking to find a reason to put you out and try to put you in debt. Literally willing to payout my entire lease to leave. It's such a waste of money and completely not worth it. I'll start collecting photos for proof. read more

READERS & POTENTIAL TENANTS: Please read *all* reviews, good and bad (including dates) before making a decision on whether you would like to live at The Bishop. On the topic of communication: PRO: The Bishop staff does a good job in communicating to their tenants (sending a mass email) when there is information regarding the community (car break-ins, property changes, events, mailroom updates, trash, etc). CON: Other than sending an email, communication is a big problem here. When I call the leasing office to ask a question, 90% of the time they need to ask the office manager. It'll take days for them to get back to you. Or they are not able to offer a response at all... In previous reviews, when there was a low-rated review, the manager would ask the reviewer to reach out to their office so they could help/discuss the issue. However, in my experience, the manager is rarely available and it'll take days for them to get back to me via phone or email-if not at all. I try to stay under the radar and not bother the staff because I know that most of the time my question(s) rarely get answered. The Bishop is about 2-3 years old. With most younger properties there is always room for improvement. I have noticed a high turnover of their leasing agents- so that may be the reason why no one knows the answers to my questions. My desire is to see the entire Bishop staff follow up with their inquiries. I really hope they can work on better communication with their tenants and do what they say they will do. If they say, "I will call you back" or "Let me check and get back to you." Please do. This post doesn't sum up my entire experience here. Just one out of many. At first after reading the reviews I thought to check it out. Then came the price. As a New Yorker, it was clear the reviews were aesthetic driven because the footage to me does not justify the sticker shock. I came here because I was able to retire at 42 happy to slash the 6-figure income in half and now have a profitable LLC. Thing is, I know money and though I could still afford this comfortably, it does not seem that any buffering is possible in case of rainy days to come. That just me. I currently live at The Bishop, and would NOT recommend moving here. I've lived here for a little over a year and although I have made several complaints to the leasing office about the people above me nothing has changed. I was advised by the leasing office that the apartment above me is owned by a corporate company who then allows their employees to live in the unit. They have no respect for the people below them and it is evident as they are constantly being disrespectful by stomping throughout their unit all hours of the day even until the middle of the night which is then hard for me to sleep. I pay so much money to live here to deal with this every day. Just save yourself the hassle and don't move here because obviously someone not even paying for their unit can cause disruptions with no repercussions. read more

The maintenance has been super fast and friendly and our apartment is very nice. The only complaint if I had any would be that I wish their were cameras in the parking garage or in the hallways of our floors for added safety. read more

PAPER THIN WALLS! You'll be surrounded by disrespectful neighbors that keep loud music constantly and you'll hear everything! Upstairs, downstairs, wall-to-wall neighbors... it doesn't matter. Your entire apartment will shake if any of your neighbors play their music (and they will - every weekend, and sometimes during the week, like right now as I'm writing this review at 3am on a Tuesday). Management will ask you to call the Courtesy Officer to solve these kind of issues, but it is just a joke, since you call and you never get a response. A real joke to advertise that service as a plus. Not to mention the steps you'll hear from your upstairs neighbors. You'll hear everything. read more

Our experience at The Bishop has been outstanding. My boyfriend and I have been living here for six months and absolutely love it here. I have been living in apartments for nearly ten years and have never experienced such a superior level of customer service. The entire office staff is fantastic and always willing to help with anything. We had a unique situation that we needed help with, and the Assistant Community Director (Desmond) and Community Director (CeCe), really went above and beyond to assist us. They helped us to resolve the issue quickly and seamlessly, and they made sure that we were more than satisfied with the outcome. They truly care about their tenants and want everyone to have a great living experience. Michael, Stacey and Logan have also each gone above and beyond to help us on several occasions. I cannot say enough good things about the people that work here. The community itself is beautiful, well kept and SO clean. They have done an amazing job during Covid-19 to ensure that common areas remain clean (the entry ways, mail room and elevator always smell pleasant and appear recently wiped down). The amenities are superb. The pools, fire places, gyms, coffee machines, and entertainment areas are always tidy and in good working order. There are two of everything which makes it very easy to find space even when it is busy. The Bishop constantly finds creative and fun ways to put on social events for tenants. Whether it is pop up happy hours, food trucks, live music in the courtyard, exercise classes or other types of classes (succulent-making, cookie decorating, paint and sip, crochet, etc.), the events are always thoughtful and well done. The level of care and attention to detail at this community is truly far beyond any other place I have lived. We love it here! My Daughter moved here 4 months ago. The place is brand new and absolutely gorgeous! She has the A3 unit which is huge! The tenants are so very friendly, it's like a big family. It feels like a different world compared to where I'm living in Brookhaven where the person across the hall and next door does not bother to speak. These are true millennials and their attitudes reflect love for everyone no matter their color, sex, age or religion. It's a beautiful thing. I always enjoy the positive energy when I visit. THE STAFF HERE IS AHHHHMAZING! THE AMENITIES ARE OUTSTANDING! THE UNITS ARE FRIGGIN GORGEOUS! My story: I had a full excel sheet I created of properties to visit today. I passed The Bishop and it caught my eye (it was not on my list). I popped in and was immediately impressed with the decor. As I strolled through the office, a man entered from the other side and immediately greeted me. He and I chatted and the vibe was so welcoming. He found out my quest of obtaining a modern space to live and he went to get his colleague to asisst me. I was charismatically greeted yet again. I outlined what I was looking for and we started to search for a unit to fit all of my needs. NATHAN WAS AMAZING! He listened to my preferences and we viewed 2 units. They were each beautiful, but my journey was pulling me to something smaller. Kudos to Nathan for listening to my stories, quips, "isms", and colorful chatter along our journey to find the space that was the correct fit for me. He found me a lovely smaller unit with a balcony. Nathan deserves some type of award of valor for putting up with me for multiple hours. I also need give an honorable mention to Brittney, as she came to chat as Nathan and I were discussing my living options. She lended some good expertise that made me feel more at ease with The Bishop. I also can't conclude this review without mentioning Broderick. Every time he walked by, he chimed in with what I have to describe as a "that cool, old, amazing friend vibe". Enough of my rant.... I moved into The Bishop a little over a month ago and it is truly a great place to live! The building is brand new with great amenities and in walking distance to a multitude of shops, restaurants, entertainment, and fitness choices. There is even a free black car service on the weekends which will pick you up and drop you off anywhere within 15 miles if you don't want to drive yourself. The Community Director, Cece, is amazing! Incredibly helpful and caring management team. Brittany has also been amazing and extremely accommodating to work with from the very first phone call I had with her before coming to tour the apartment up until moving in. She even helped me rearrange my living room furniture when I was indecisive on how I wanted to set it up, which I really appreciated! The entire staff (leasing and maintenance) is so friendly, personable, and willing to go above and beyond. The neighbors are also super friendly which is a plus. So far I've really enjoyed my stay at The Bishop. Two fitness centers and two pools was really a nice touch for me. Club rooms and lounge areas are always very tidy, clean and really nicely presented. I am able to park in covered, gated parking on the same floor as my apartment which is great, parking is never an issue for myself or my guests. The customer service here is what really sets this organization apart from others, whenever I have an problem or concern staff immediately gets back to me & helps. Cece the community director has been absolutely phenomenal, she always promptly gets back to me & resolves anything I need help with. The Bishop is only a 10 minute walk to the Marta, which is so convenient. My central air had a slight issue and within 24 hours maintenance staff came by & resolved the issue. I'm really just so impressed with how friendly & accommodating all members the bishop team staff are, from marketing representatives, to the mainfence team, and management everyone is attentive, professional, and always looking to help. That type of superior service alone will keep me as a returning tenant here. read more
