This is a description of my 18 week Nightmare living here ... total spent $18K. Yes, you read that…read moreright. 4 and 1/2 months = $18,000.00 rent at this "LUXURY" Apartment Community. Quiet enjoyment of the property? None. Constant construction noise, drilling into the side of the apartment ... pressure washing, painting, etc. These Projects were not mentioned to me upon signing of the Lease. I work a lot from home and I might as well have been living in the Parking Lot! I was on the 8th floor ... you'd think I wouldn't be disturbed by the people at the pool ... again, no peace!!! Once I heard children screaming, I went down there only to find there were ZERO adults watching 3 little girls (under 9), I went & found the Security Guard (who didn't seem overly concerned) ... I waited 10 more minutes before he approached the girls and asked if they even lived there ... one of them did ... where's your Mom? At least 10 mins later someone came down! I complained several times about the noise above me ... seems the gal upstairs had a 4 year old that ran ... or should I say stomped all day long! I don't believe she ever took that poor child out of the apartment. From 7am to 10pm ... same routine, day in, day out, Nothing ever changed, even though Mgmt said they called her, or maybe they emailed her. I do not know. Barking dogs? YES! One day I heard a dog barking and barking next door for over 3 hours! I went down to the Office and told Martha, at first she said they don't have a dog, then she mentioned she saw the tenant and he was going out of town for 5 days! What? I said that dog can't be alone for all that time. After several MORE hours, she finally reached someone. Safety?? The power went out twice ... there was NO Emergency lighting in the whole building ... stairways and or halls ... I walked up 8 flights in total darkness (Only light was from my cellphone). Extremely dangerous (photo). Elevators ... usually only one working ... moving out, arranged for the freight elevator and someone else was down there too ... it could've gotten ugly. Upon move-in: dryer didn't work (maintenance was called for next day) Next: ice maker non-working (maintenance...again, next day) Health-wise ... the Trash Chute was broken when I moved in (no one mentioned it while signing the Lease) it remained "Un repaired" for MANY weeks. Apartment was not clean.... Master bdrm carpet was so dirty, looked like grease marks all over! Requested it to be cleaned/showed up several days later. Also, cockroaches liked my Apartment too. Of course they were "upscale", wouldn't they be? When I asked Kelly about it, she said you have to request service (again, no mention of this, plus they take out $ from your rent each month for "pest control"). Ugh!!!! Personally, I liked Kelly and Jordan. Kelly helped me one day when I tripped on an exposed pipe on the street. Jordan was always friendly as well. That was my experience. Perhaps yours will be different (I hope so). ***July 10 ... see RAM Partners comment below ... Every single one of these issues were brought to the immediate attention of Management.***

Because taking almost $2000 out of someone's checking account TWICE is something we all plan for and just magically keep enough money for. What a freaking joke. Not only that, but it took her FOUR entire days to come tell me "we aren't refunding you."

West Midtown is a great location just due to the many amenities (bars, shopping, etc) and proximity to the rest of the city. The maintenance and leasing team are amazing, the grounds are pretty clean, and the gym area is nice and small for general use. The leasing team has also been great with putting on continued resident events safely, even amidst COVID, which has been so good to see. Lastly, the only issue that I have personally experienced so far is cars tailgating inside the complex at the gate. While there is not much that can be done about it, I do hope that it greatly decreases over time. I highly recommend 1824 Defoor!

I am a current resident at The Pointe at Collier Hills and I have a month and a few weeks left on…read morethe year lease that I signed. I have never truly regretted making a decision especially one that pertains to my shelter. You'd think with paying close to $2000 a month, the level of service and just the overall interaction with the management staff would be better. I should've known when I initially moved in that I'd have problems here. A friend of mine moved here a few months prior and felt that things could be better only after I had made the decision to move into the apartment community was that expressed to me. I have added the pictures to better explain and give a visual of my current situation. This is one of many incidents that have taken place since I moved into the apartment community. Just to briefly give a summary of my experience upon moving in I was never walked through my apartment I was literally handed the keys and a folder with paperwork. I had to ask for them to send me the link to pay my rent for the first time because it was never explained. Well it was never sent and they also added a late fee although I had asked an hour before the late fee was added. That's the first situation and I've experienced multiple. A water incident back in July, multiple maintenance situations, my guest was harassed and held up at the gate by a resident and the management condoned it right in front of me and made an excuse even, a break in occurred in November and my glass was broken out of the back patio door and it took them over a week to fix it. I am here now, yet again another water incident which resulted in the ceiling falling down along with gallons of water onto myself and my dog in the wee hours of the morning. The pictures posted are real time pictures of the state of my apartment for 11 days after the water incident occurred on 12/10/18. Not one time did the management ask was I ok nor had they even attempted to come over to check the state of my apartment which was uninhabitable. They told me I'd have to go through my insurance company again for the 3rd time and I have still not been handled appropriately, the company's attorney even attempted to treat me inappropriately and talk to me very aggressively. Empathy is clearly not the company's strong point and they seem to struggle handling things in a timely manner. I have been told they don't know who the properties insurance company is, which is what the property manager told me. The attorneys have yet to comply with me the property manager told me they are dealing with a very big case. I asked to speak with the owners and the property manager told me (even after I expressed this situation has yet to be resolved or really talked through after almost a month) that I should keep in mind it is a holiday week and not everyone is in the office. This has been the most mentally, physically and spiritually draining occurrence that has transpired in my life to date and between me having to be mishandled almost on a daily through my correspondence with the management. I have experienced a decline in everything in my life from this situation, my professional/financial , academic, and just my mental/physical health. Even when I've expressed this in my several attempts to settle this matter, I feel the property manager thinks it's a joke because she constantly chuckles, giggles and I suppose she attempting to make me smile throughout the process of dealing with such a chaotic situation but I have yet to find any humor or reason to smile at any point since this all transpired, as I have truly been trying to maintain composure and keep my mind off of it all to keep from breaking. I am exhausted at this point and wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. All I ask is for those seeking an apartment community to consider checking into the reviews and truly making sure you are informed. To management or a word of advice to the owners get new management staff or promote the assistant property manager because she's much more proactive and handles things accordingly. It's truly disheartening and I feel like I'm in a bad dream but typing this makes me realize it's my reality. The pictures show how the maintenance moved around and broke my very expensive antique/ retro hand painted Italian furniture, how the third party restoration company used my dishes and left urine on my toilet seat and just left my home in disarray. P.S. They haven't prorated my rent, never asked me to move into another unit until the work was done and I almost had to beg them to clean it after they were done destroying my personal belongings.
