There are not a lot of Yelpers in Vicksburg but Rusty's had some great reviews so we decide to try it. Nice location near the river and plenty of street parking. We were seated quickly after our full party arrived. There is nothing fancy about this place but clean and simple. When you walk in you see the desserts in the cooler in the front and they all look delicious and homemade. We saw some dinner rolls being brought to the table but we were not offered any so we asked and they are free. So make sure to ask. They are yummy little yeast rolls with some sweet (maybe honey) butter. I tried a Bahama mama that was tasty and we liked the fried calamari (7/10). This place is a mostly seafood restaurant with a few good options if you don't or can't eat seafood. We had two in our party that does not eat seafood and they enjoyed the blacked chicken. The mozzarella sticks were also tasty. The start of the dinner was the Redfish with the craw fish cream sauce. DE-licious!! I enjoyed the seafood pasta. It's a lemon butter sauce not creamy but I liked it! It came with a side so I tried a cup of gumbo for $3 up-charge. It was worth it. Very good gumbo with sausage, shrimp, scallops, and an oyster! Looking forward to going back!

The fried green tomatoes with the crab sauce were fantastic as was the gumbo, fried catfish and blackened chicken. Save a little room for the bread pudding with the Makers Mark sauce, the best bp I've ever had and the largest. Better plan on sharing it. Despite it being busy our server was friendly and attentive. Parking is street so you may have to walk a bit Furnishings were good and you don't feel squeezed in.

Joseph Emory Davis, patriarchal brother to Confederate Pres Jefferson Davis, the owner of Hurricane Plantation in Warren County, Jefferson Davis made his final speech from Anchuca's front balcony, near the Vicksburg Battlefield. We got here early and parked in the small parking lot. We wandered around all of the beautiful rooms from the period. We were seated in the library. Brunch entrées included a small salad or fruit cup, and a dessert. We enjoyed our salads with balsamic dressing. For an entrée, I chose seafood, gumbo, and my husband, the shrimp and grits. The cheesy, creamy grits with the best I ever tasted, and my husband doesn't like shrimp, but he devoured them. We're trying both desserts, the warm peach cobbler alamode and the white chocolate bread pudding were obscene. Our meal was delicious, service, impeccable, and the setting spectacular.

Approximately a mile from the Vicksburg battlefield, the house sits high on a hill that would have had direct line of vision to the Mississippi River during the war. The house still bears the scars of battle shrapnel but was ultimately spared. The buildings are an impressive representation of Southern living for the well to do in the late 1800s. The upper porch served as the location for Jefferson Davis last public speech after the war. The restaurant serves a nice breakfast to boarders and a more elegant option for dinner with a full menu. Pleasant service in a cozy dining area makes for a great experience in this historic home. P.S. Note that both the dining area and all of the in rooms are not handicapped accessible and require the ability to claim stairs.

Mallory is the owners daughter and absolutely makes this place an incredible experience. From her friendly attitude to her great insights she makes you feel like you're right at home. Now to the food, I ordered the fried green tomato BLT with avocado plus a side of fries and baked beans and it was all so good!! I'd highly recommend this place and will be back if in the area!

This place is amazing…read more I have been here several times on y trips to Vicksburg and Port Gibson. It is part roadside shack, vegetable seller, and food spot. Until this last trip I had never had the sandwich that made them famous. Now that I have, I can say that this is a must stop. Heck, it may be worth a drive if you are within an hour or two. The only thing you need to know is that you must order a fried green tomato BLT. In my entire life I have never intentionally ordered a BLT. To me, this is the most dumb idea for a sandwich I have ever heard of. Until now. This is quite possibly one of teh most perfect sandwiches I have ever had. It is so great that I wanted a second when I was done but it definitely would not have been as good later as it was fresh. Amazing. Service was as friendly as one should expect from a roadsie shack such as this. The one worker took our order, made it, delievered it, and gave us some pork rinds with their homemade hot sauce to try. That was a solid thing to do as it made me buy two of their hot sauces stored in old coke bottles. Just come here. Order the BLT. Thank me later.
