My visit to Anchuca Mansion was so nice !! The mansion itself is absolutely beautiful, and you can really tell how much thought went into decorating it. They offer house tours for $10.00, which was well worth it! The staff were so kind and friendly! I got to chat with the owners, Sam and Anna Kate, and they couldn't have been more wonderful. The food was delicious. The rolls came out piping hot, and they were so good. I ordered the shrimp and grits, and it was so amazing, an absolute treat! While I didn't have a cocktail myself, their cocktail menu was very nice! Their wine list was also extensive!! Something for everyone. I also got a sneak peek at some of the rooms, and they looked so charming. I would definitely make it a point to stay here next time I visit Vicksburg. Overall a 10/10 experience! Highly recommend!

We highly recommend this restaurant for an extraordinary Sunday brunch. We dined in the foyer, a private room that can accommodate 10 guests at an antique banquet table. Beautiful ambiance and delicious food. Considering that bread, entree, salads, and dessert are included, the prices are reasonable. I will go back again!

Loved my experience at Restaurant Anchuca! The historic house is beautiful, and is worth the visit! There's street parking in front of the house, and you'll walk up the driveway to get to the restaurant in the back of the main house. I visited for brunch and called earlier that morning for a reservation. I really enjoyed the coffee, it had a delicious flavor and I wished I asked what roast and beans they use! I started with a salad, which was delicious and I really liked all of the toppings. For my main entree, I ordered the etoufee. I loved the variety of seafood in it and I could've had so much more of that amazing bread! It was so warm and fluffy! I finished with the peach cobbler, which after all of that food I was pretty full, but I made sure to save room for it because of how good it was. The service was amazing, and the waitress was so friendly and attentive. For all of the food, quality, and service, I thought the price was extremely reasonable for brunch. I wish I tried this place sooner, because I would've definitely visited more times! Whether you're staying at the hotel or just in Vicksburg, Restaurant Anchuca is definitely worth a visit.

This place is very good. Entrees off the menu are limited, but what they offer and what they deliver is of very good quality. The pics below tell the story.

We didn't here twice in the past few months and both times the food and service were amazing. Very nice atmosphere as well. Highly recommend it for a relaxing and romantic place to dine. Playlist music in background was good as well. I had the shrimp and grits and it was awesome. Dessert was peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream. They have homemade yeast rolls baked fresh.

Anchuca: Choctaw word for "happy home" This antebellum mansion was originally constructed in the late 1820s, but was later upgraded with Greek revival styling in the late 1840s by wealthy Vicksburg residents, Jane and Victor Wilson. The Wilsons and their seven children (6 girls and 1 boy) survived the 47-day siege of the city only to succumb to family tragedy just weeks after Vicksburg's surrender. Their only son and infant daughter died due to the unsanitary conditions and malnutrition endured during the siege. The house survived the Siege and was used as a hospital after the battle. With the death of Mr. Wilson in 1865, Mrs. Wilson, overwrought with emotions and economic ruin, sold the property. Joseph Emory Davis (Jefferson Davis' older brother) lived in the house from 1868 until his death on September 18, 1870 at the age of 87. Jefferson Davis gave one of his last speeches to the people of Vicksburg from this balcony in 1869.

We've been traveling to Vicksburg to see watch our son play football for Alcorn State and we've hit…read morethe same restaurants and we were ready for something new. There are not a lot of Yelpers in Vicksburg but Rusty's had some great reviews so we decide to try it. Nice location near the river and plenty of street parking. We were seated quickly after our full party arrived. There is nothing fancy about this place but clean and simple. When you walk in you see the desserts in the cooler in the front and they all look delicious and homemade. We saw some dinner rolls being brought to the table but we were not offered any so we asked and they are free. So make sure to ask. They are yummy little yeast rolls with some sweet (maybe honey) butter. I tried a Bahama mama that was tasty and we liked the fried calamari (7/10). This place is a mostly seafood restaurant with a few good options if you don't or can't eat seafood. We had two in our party that does not eat seafood and they enjoyed the blacked chicken. The mozzarella sticks were also tasty. The start of the dinner was the Redfish with the craw fish cream sauce. DE-licious!! I enjoyed the seafood pasta. It's a lemon butter sauce not creamy but I liked it! It came with a side so I tried a cup of gumbo for $3 up-charge. It was worth it. Very good gumbo with sausage, shrimp, scallops, and an oyster! Looking forward to going back!

Wow, liked Rusty's so much after our first meal We returned…read morethe second day of our 2 day trip to Vicksburg and ate there again. The fried green tomatoes with the crab sauce were fantastic as was the gumbo, fried catfish and blackened chicken. Save a little room for the bread pudding with the Makers Mark sauce, the best bp I've ever had and the largest. Better plan on sharing it. Despite it being busy our server was friendly and attentive. Parking is street so you may have to walk a bit Furnishings were good and you don't feel squeezed in.

This place is amazing…read more I have been here several times on y trips to Vicksburg and Port Gibson. It is part roadside shack, vegetable seller, and food spot. Until this last trip I had never had the sandwich that made them famous. Now that I have, I can say that this is a must stop. Heck, it may be worth a drive if you are within an hour or two. The only thing you need to know is that you must order a fried green tomato BLT. In my entire life I have never intentionally ordered a BLT. To me, this is the most dumb idea for a sandwich I have ever heard of. Until now. This is quite possibly one of teh most perfect sandwiches I have ever had. It is so great that I wanted a second when I was done but it definitely would not have been as good later as it was fresh. Amazing. Service was as friendly as one should expect from a roadsie shack such as this. The one worker took our order, made it, delievered it, and gave us some pork rinds with their homemade hot sauce to try. That was a solid thing to do as it made me buy two of their hot sauces stored in old coke bottles. Just come here. Order the BLT. Thank me later.
