OMG! Definitely a hole in the wall, that may have been only slightly updated since it was built in 1896, but my, oh my, their fried green tomato BLT and onion rings are something to write home about! Kayla is the one woman wait staff and made the recommendation, and for this, I am eternally grateful!! If you're ever up around Vicksburg, MS you'll need to stop by!

Fried green tomato BLT and fresh hand cut french fries. Who could ask for more?

Our two sandwiches were delicious, the fried green tomato BLT and the shrimp Po-boy with fresh cut onion rings and french fries hit the spot. The Klondyke is a bar/restaurant, the service was great. The food was good and the price was wonderful.

The food was decent and so are the prices. The food was pretty greasy but pretty good regardless. The service was okay, a little confusion between sitting down to eat and ordering at the counter. Other people in our party got the hamburger and chicken sandwich with fried tomatoes, said it was also very good! Overall, good experience!

Don't know what's going on. Second time I came here the foods are lukewarm/cold. Part of the shrimp was cold and part of the hamburger steak is lukewarm. Seems like if the food is not fried, you may get different quality everytime

Stopped for lunch on our way back home to Iowa from New Orleans. The woman who served us was personable and welcoming. Food was excellent. Highly recommend.

I was extremely impressed with the reasonable prices and the portions provided. I ordered the Rib Eye Steak Sandwich. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because there wasn't much flavor. But, the service was fantastic. The waitress we had was very attentive and took the time to answer our many questions patiently. We were a bit apprehensive pulling up because we weren't quite expecting an old gas station. But, we are glad we didn't let that hinder us from eating here. The portions are large and they have a 12 oz rib eye steak for $10. It doesn't come with sides but it was extremely reasonably priced for the size. The sides were $3 extra each. Still with the steak and 2 sides before tax it's only $16. This place was very hidden but a diamond in the rough.

Definitely a one of a kind place. From the outside it looks like a little antiques store. The interior is very rustic, filled with unusual antiques and the food is off the hook. The fried green tomatoes are some of the best I've ever had. The fried dill pickles were crispy and really good. The steak is so tender and well seasoned that no sauce was needed. I had a baked potato that was slow roasted and delicious. My friend had the Bayou burger and it was huge! It's so big that it could almost be shared with another person. The staff is awesome. Everything was cooked to perfection and service was excellent. I'd definitely recommend eating here if you want a unique eating experience.

The atmosphere was not very welcoming. Cold, dark and dirty. Not a very diverse environment and seemed very uncomfortable at first. Our waitress was delightful and made sure we were well taken care of once we were seated. The food on the other hand was delicious! The steak was tinder and well seasoned. The salad and onion rings were plentiful. The fish and potato skins were fresh and plentiful as well. Beer was cold and prices were low. I'm willing to deal with the environment again just to eat the food!

There are not a lot of Yelpers in Vicksburg but Rusty's had some great reviews so we decide to try it. Nice location near the river and plenty of street parking. We were seated quickly after our full party arrived. There is nothing fancy about this place but clean and simple. When you walk in you see the desserts in the cooler in the front and they all look delicious and homemade. We saw some dinner rolls being brought to the table but we were not offered any so we asked and they are free. So make sure to ask. They are yummy little yeast rolls with some sweet (maybe honey) butter. I tried a Bahama mama that was tasty and we liked the fried calamari (7/10). This place is a mostly seafood restaurant with a few good options if you don't or can't eat seafood. We had two in our party that does not eat seafood and they enjoyed the blacked chicken. The mozzarella sticks were also tasty. The start of the dinner was the Redfish with the craw fish cream sauce. DE-licious!! I enjoyed the seafood pasta. It's a lemon butter sauce not creamy but I liked it! It came with a side so I tried a cup of gumbo for $3 up-charge. It was worth it. Very good gumbo with sausage, shrimp, scallops, and an oyster! Looking forward to going back!

The fried green tomatoes with the crab sauce were fantastic as was the gumbo, fried catfish and blackened chicken. Save a little room for the bread pudding with the Makers Mark sauce, the best bp I've ever had and the largest. Better plan on sharing it. Despite it being busy our server was friendly and attentive. Parking is street so you may have to walk a bit Furnishings were good and you don't feel squeezed in.

Brunch entrées included a small salad or fruit cup, and a dessert. We enjoyed our salads with balsamic dressing. For an entrée, I chose seafood, gumbo, and my husband, the shrimp and grits. The cheesy, creamy grits with the best I ever tasted, and my husband doesn't like shrimp, but he devoured them. Approximately a mile from the Vicksburg battlefield, the house sits high on a hill that would have had direct line of vision to the Mississippi River during the war. The house still bears the scars of battle shrapnel but was ultimately spared. The buildings are an impressive representation of Southern living for the well to do in the late 1800s. The upper porch served as the location for Jefferson Davis last public speech after the war. The restaurant serves a nice breakfast to boarders and a more elegant option for dinner with a full menu. Pleasant service in a cozy dining area makes for a great experience in this historic home. P.S. Note that both the dining area and all of the in rooms are not handicapped accessible and require the ability to claim stairs.

Until this last trip I had never had the sandwich that made them famous. Now that I have, I can say that this is a must stop. Heck, it may be worth a drive if you are within an hour or two. The only thing you need to know is that you must order a fried green tomato BLT. In my entire life I have never intentionally ordered a BLT. To me, this is the most dumb idea for a sandwich I have ever heard of. Until now. This is quite possibly one of teh most perfect sandwiches I have ever had. It is so great that I wanted a second when I was done but it definitely would not have been as good later as it was fresh. Amazing. Service was as friendly as one should expect from a roadsie shack such as this. The one worker took our order, made it, delievered it, and gave us some pork rinds with their homemade hot sauce to try. That was a solid thing to do as it made me buy two of their hot sauces stored in old coke bottles. Just come here. Order the BLT. Thank me later.
