What a great decision! When you walk in, you immediately notice that all of the wines are beautifully displayed -- it doubles as a wine shop, which gives it such a warm and welcoming vibe. It feels cozy but elevated at the same time. They don't offer flights for groups larger than five, but we were able to order one dealer's choice flight based on our preferred flavor profiles. From there, we could select a bottle inspired by the flight. A few of us gravitated toward reds. Our waitress was incredibly knowledgeable -- we told her the flavor profiles we liked, and she brought out three reds to try. The Wade & Wayfarer Pinot Noir was our favorite (so good!), though a bit pricier. We also tried the Alkoorai Cab/Merlot blend, which ended up being our least favorite. Ultimately, we chose the Denner Nightshade GSM -- excellent pick. Bonus tip: if you purchase a bottle $50 or more, there's no corkage fee; under $50, there is. Our waitress also mentioned that South American Merlots are the best Merlots as we all mentioned Merlot tends to be more dry. A few in our group ordered the Masterpiece Theatre cocktail on our waitress's recommendation -- she did not steer us wrong! Food-wise, everything was a hit. Our friends ordered the Cacio e Pepe burrata, pickled shrimp, Caesar salad, mushroom and leek flatbread, and the Brie and pear flatbread (both flatbreads were huge!). They loved every dish. My husband and I shared the bread with olive oil (simple and delicious), the charred octopus (tender with amazing flavor), gnocchi Bolognese, and lamb chops. Everything was fantastic -- the only small note was that the lamb could've been a bit more rare -- but still very flavorful. By the end of the night, all six of us agreed we'd absolutely be back. We're even looking into their wine club -- $60/month for two bottles (pickup required at the shop), which honestly sounds like a great deal. Apparently, they change up their wine flights weekly, which makes it even more fun and gives us a reason to return. Such a great experience all around -- can't wait to go back and try more wines!

You can try another if the first is not to your liking! The food is excellent, with it all being house made. Everything from flatbread to lamb chops. Wines by flights or the glass are changed weekly, so you get to try lots of new wines. You may choose a wine from the shop to go with your dinner if you prefer. No corkage with wines $50 or more. They also have wine tastings several evening per week with minimal charges. Knowledgeable servers and bartender. There is a small bar also, so beer and drinks are also available. We have gone multiple times with different friends and everyone has loved our evenings.

You know you've entered adulthood when your friends tell you that you HAVE to check out a grocery store. I was always told they carry everything and were like a bigger Fresh Market. I've driven past locations around the Greater Richmond area and Charlottesville. Over my winter break for work, I decided to finally check it out. This grocery store is madness, but also incredible. We went on Christmas eve so it was PACKED. It was still a lot of fun. It feels like they have every brand or food item you could possibly think of here. My fiancé and I treated ourselves to some fancy and yummy groceries. My favorite sections of the store were the cheese stations (very organized with so many yummy cheeses to pick from), the mushroom section (almost every variety of mushroom lived here), and the wine section (I finally found Lillet). Like Whole Foods, they do have a food court-like sections. We enjoyed some pizza before we started shopping. There was plenty of parking out front. It's a huge place. If you're looking for a grocery food adventure, this is the place to do it.

I am most impressed by the explosion in nondairy Wegman brand ice cream options this summer, as well as a fully stocked section of other nondairy ice cream products from trusted brands like Ben & Jerry's and Breyer's. That's what prompts my review. Wegmans is often accused of having higher prices than competitors, to which I respond, "What competitors? They are in a league of their own, and they are knocking it out of the park!!" YES: VEGAN FRIENDLY YES: kid friendly

Unfortunately, the service left me incredibly disappointed. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted rudely by the worker. While inside, we witnessed her having two other unpleasant interactions with other customers snapping, tapping her nails impatiently, and even aggressively pointing at where she wanted people to stand (causing confusion because her "right" and their "right" weren't the same). There was still plenty of time left before closing, so the rush and frustration didn't make sense. When it was finally our turn, I tried to order a sugar cookie. She snapped at me that they didn't have sugar cookies and pointed to the counter display with that evening's options. My friend and I both noticed the sign did clearly list sugar cookies. When I pointed this out, she became even more dismissive. Between two cookies and three scoops of ice cream, I ended up spending $26, which felt overpriced considering the attitude that came with it. Now for the positives: the shop itself is spotless very clean, and clearly well-kept. The aesthetics are bright, though I personally found them a bit overwhelming. Overall, while I wanted to love this Black-owned business that so many people recommended, the customer service completely ruined the experience. A sweet treat should come with a smile, not hostility.

When I saw that it was owned by a young, Black man, I KNEW I had to patronize this business since it was Juneteenth (I would've done it on any regular day, too). When I walked in, it smelled like heaven (aka fresh baked cookies). I ordered an ice cream cookie sandwich with the chocolate chip cookies and birthday cake ice cream. I also ordered a tres leche cookie. Each week, there is a new line up of cookies. They also had a cinnamon toast crunch cookie that looked pretty good, but buying anymore cookies would've put me in a cookie-coma. The ice cream was delicious! The tres leche cookie was really good. I enjoyed the chocolate chip cookies, but it was too sweet for me. I wasn't sure if they used milk chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet... I would cut back a little bit on the sugar or maybe sprinkle some salt on top to combat that sweetness. I would DEFINITELY return if I was in the RVA area.
