    Grants three pointer with sprouts

Amazing lunch from Big Cheese! I got Grants Three Pointer with Brie and WOW! Amazing ingredients and wonderful service from Randy. They even have sprouts! While there is no available seating it's worth the stop!

    Everything hot!

Fabulous selection of cheeses and meats. You don't see many better inventories of hot sauces and other stuff for chili heads. Also, a nice selection of crackers and chips, custom-made sandwiches, olives, and cookies, you name it. Great little store. The Big Cheese and proprietor Randi Sue is simply delightful, happy to chat, and to guide your purchases with a knowing eye (and palate). I'm putting this on my list of must-visit places in Annapolis, and you should, too.

This place has a good name and located in a busy section of town. I think the selection seemed okay and was surprised how empty it was on a Saturday. Cheeses didn't have prices marked which is annoying if you don't want to keep asking every single item. I got a mozzarella-wrapped prosciutto. It was tasty but seemed overpriced (again it was hard to tell if price was being declared arbitrarily.) It was an okay location for a quick food pickup, but it didn't seem like anything special.

The sandwiches here are so good and good sized portions!! My go to was the #10- Prosciutto and Mozzarella on a baguette! Huge sandwich and delicious. The only thing is that sometimes the prices differ on the menu than when they ring you up. Very convenient location in DTA.

    Roast beef sandwich

Ordered the roast beef sandwich (no. 9, not no. 2) and it was just excellent. The challah roll was amazing on its own--perfectly pillowy with just the right amount of flakiness. The fixings were well proportioned and I'm inclined to believe them when they say the produce is fresh and local. For ~$10 I really can't speak highly enough of the sandwich. The shop is nifty too. I'm especially interested in all the types of pickles they have for sale, but unfortunately wasn't in the market for a jar of them when I came by. Just another excuse to return I guess.

They make exceptionally great sandwiches that you won't find anywhere else. They sell exotic hot sauces, beer & wine. This place is legend in Annapolis, and for good reason.

Fantastic cheese collection and sandwiches. A must visit

Impeccable service, excellent selection of cheese, crackers , cookies and sandwiches. Plenty of choices for vegetarians. It is family run business and the owners are super friendly and make you feel at home. We picked up vegetarian and mikes mayor sandwiches for lunch and enjoyed it in the park.

Everyone working there was so helpful, and they gave us some amazing recommendations! We even got a sample of a salumi that knocked our socks off. They have a great selection for such a small shop, but you can tell whomever is in charge of the products puts a lot of care and consideration into their choices. The charcuterie selection in the deli was exceptional, and the pantry products were varied and in some cases featured hard-to-find products. We also tried their mini-baguette sandwiches, and they did not disappoint! For only 3 buck a pop, they provided a perfect snack-sized comestible that kept us going on our errands. The decor was nice, with a "little shop in the French countryside" kind of vibe. Nothing too over the top, and nothing too boring. It was classic, but reserved, in a good way that evokes a relaxed feeling. I just wish we had known about this place sooner! So many wasted days not shopping here... But, now we know! I hope to make this a regular stop going forward; good gourmet stores can be hard to find!

Stopped by Sammy's Deli while taking in the weather in downtown Annapolis-my little loves coming…read morehere to dine, get ice cream and just walk the area-she says it's her favorite place and always tells people how it's the capital of MD, lol. So we walk in Sammy's and my husband and I are impressed by the pickles and hot sauce varieties. We didn't plan to order food, yet as a foodie I love specialty shops and always patronize them. This one was no different, although I regret doing so. At first the woman (who I imagine is the owner) seemed personable she asked all the customers to let her know if they needed help and she was smiling and all, but for whatever reason that changed after we got to the register to pay. She then became very condescending, rude and uptight. She asked a multitude of questions like for instance she asked what brings us to Annapolis. I told her we always visit and she says well you picked a busy day to come, like I made a poor choice in visiting or something, like we shouldn't be there. I thought to myself, um, did you not here me, I always come to the area, therefore I know it's busy, ALL THE TIME..it's been that way since forever in Annapolis. Then she just kept going on about our purchase saying we made good choices..like she literally said "oh you made good choices..you made good choices. Her tone sounded to me as if she was surprised that our pallet was sophisticated enough to get truffle chips and hot sauce and garlic dill pickles; like give me a break. She then asks my husband if he likes cheese. He says no but my wife does, she is the cheese expert. She didn't say another word, she did not crack a smile nor engage me in any way after he said that. As a store owner that would have been the perfect opportunity to sell me on cheese or whatever it was that you thought you needed to ask him that for. Finally even after all this, I asked her if she had a tip jar because I was going to tip my change (approximately $3.xx). She said no, I don't take tips, I just want you to go home and enjoy your purchase-as if she was too good or prideful to take MY money and wanted us to leave the store. I guess black families who love on each other and their children, who travel an hr away from home to visit downtown Annapolis are foreign to her and/or rub her the wrong way. And wouldn't you know as I am leaving I saw a tip bucket on the counter. Go figure. My husband and I discussed our visit and he informed me that while I was off doing another final lap of the store she had asked him if he was hungry and he said no...so maybe that's why she was mad-that we didn't get her food. He said she had a look as if to say then what are you doing here. Terrible. And I know from reading this it seems like she asked basic questions, but it is one of those you had to be there conversations; her tone, lack of eye contact and all made for a very uncomfortable experience. One thing is for certain, I will never patronize this store again and for anyone reading this and the other reviews, believe the ones that say these people are mean and rude because they certainly are.

When his cart arrived below it fell over, thus causing him to fall on top of the cart. Because there is no way for a customer to stop the escalator at the bottom, the woman directly behind him and her cart fell on top of my husband! We all yelled "help" to stop the stairs. While employees did come to our assistance--and fortunately no one was injured--I discovered upon returning to the store the following: Tostop the escalator if there is a mishap, an employee (if they are within earshot) can come down the stairs and turn a key. When I expressed my dismay to the manager, Cynthia, I was told me there was "nothing she could do about it" and "no one got hurt anyway". Her attitude was dismissive and almost argumentative. I replied I wanted to speak with her directly to put better safety standards in place, rather than post on social media. She replied, "People can post whatever they want." I do not believe this level of customer service is anywhere near acceptable. The escalator is a potential danger. Escalators that carry groceries only (such as those in Target) are far safer. Had the Whole Foods escalator been full, many people--including seniors and children--could have been injured. This is a safety hazard that management should address with concern and empathy--not just dismiss.
