Tyler Anderson is back in charge these days and his food is just really good Trusting in him we did the five course menu tour: local oysters with mignonette; cornbread with sesame butter; then one of those classics that has been played with a bit: tapioca pearls prepared to channel clam chowder with bits of bacon and herb! The next jawdropper was frozen shaved foie gras over a strawberry cream compote with pumpkin seed granola. The entrees (you get both) were monkfish schnitzel with a pickle and potato salad and seared strip with potato galette and cioppolina onion. Dessert was a panna cotta with strawberry and angel food crumble All of these were delicious and unique in there on way. Our table relished and discussed every course in an a way that was fun and social. The food made sing and think! The only knock was this: the menu had some redundancies with strawberries and soft textures: the tapioca, foie gras dish, and panna cotta were delish, we could have done without three dishes for people who can't still chew! Service was very pleasant but painfully soft spoken and could benefit from some more fine dining polish. These are minor quibbles. Pretty area but I was honestly thinking it was going to be more quaint and romantic. It was not. The area is somewhat narrow which makes tables spaced close together and it's really not that private. But the space is nicely decorated and if you sit on the right side (which we did), you're right in front of the waterfall. I would try the dining room next time just to compare. Our server Anthony was professional, kind of and accommodating. We started with cocktails - I had a creative gin drink called Dot Dot Dot. My husband loved his Old Fashioned - he meant to ask what type of bourbon they used because he thought it was very good. With the tasting menu - many of the options apparently change regularly though based off other reviews it appears there may be similar options from time to time. We started with their Johnny Cakes which the waiter said the restaurant is known for. Another reviewer ranked them a 7.5/10 and I couldn't disagree more. They were one of the tastiest bites I've eaten in a while. Crispy, buttery and divine. I thought they were to die for. Served with creamy honey sesame butter which was also delicious. My husband doesn't eat fish so for his amuse bouche he had a little puff served with cheese, that was amazing. For his first course - he had the Ricotta Raviolis. They were as beautiful as they were delicious. My amuse bouche was a tuna tartare that was a perfectly balanced bite. I had the Tapioca custard as my first course. The bacon was a bit too smokey for my taste and overpowered the dish in my opinion. It could have used a bit more liquid but it was a unique few bites. For our mains, my husband's porcini risotto was rich, creamy, and full of earthy flavor. I had the bass with cauliflowerini, golden raisin-caper gremolata, Marcona almonds, and a cauliflower purée--thoughtfully composed and very flavorful. The final savory course was a crispy duck breast with port-poached pear, port reduction, and sweet potato purée, which was beautifully executed. Dessert was a pomegranate pavlova--crisp on the outside with that perfect soft, marshmallowy center. A delightful finish to the meal. Overall, the dishes were not only delicious but also thoughtfully composed and visually striking. It made for a memorable experience, and we're already looking forward to coming back--maybe in a different season to see how the menu evolves.

They also have a nice patio area with plenty of seating and a fire pit; this would be great when the weather is nice. My family and I had lunch on Saturday. It was busy but not overwhelming. Our server was busy but super attentive and friendly. I noticed it was very kid-friendly since there were other kids there and they had a kids menu. Their menu was vast menu and I wanted to try so many food items. I started off with a hibiscus margarita; oh my, one of the best I've had, it was a 5/5. We also had the asian calamari; it's fried battered squid, banana peppers, and a side of sweet chili. This was mouthwatering good and it was a 4/5. I had a cesar half salad which was toothsome; the dressing, parmesan, croutons, and salad ratio was perfection. My main entree, I had the prosciutto wrapped cod; that is baked cod, wrapped with prosciutto, served over parmesan risotto and broccoli with lemon butter. The showstopper was the parmesan risotto, I could eat a gallon of that lol. The cod was okay, it needed more flavor but the prosciutto definitely helped with the flavor. Overall the cod fish was 3.5/5. Next time, I want to try their Thai sesame salmon, apricot shrimp risotto, pulled pork Mac and cheese, Bolognese, crab rangoon dip, and firecracker shrimp, to name a few. I was so torn but I chose a bit of a healthier option due to my New Year resolution. I loved that they had the total calories next to the menu items. My family and I look forward to going back soon!

When planning an event much is left to chance when it comes to the venue, food, and service--but the team at Metro Bis were amazing. From the very beginning, their communication and attention to detail during the planning stages was incredible. Courtney was so responsive and helpful, it took the stress out of the planning, as I felt she had it under control. On the day of the event, they all went above and beyond, even helping us carry bags to and from the car. The table was set beautifully, the service was friendly and prompt, the timing of the courses was flawless, and the food was absolutely delicious--everyone at our party was raving about it! The room itself is beautiful, and the entire place has a wonderful vibe. Thank you to the entire team at Metro Bis for creating a day we will all treasure. My mom is still reminiscing about her party! It was a special day for us all and we cannot recommend Metro Bis highly enough!

I started with clam chowder that while could've been a little hotter, was thick and delicious. Other people in the party had eggplant Parmesan, which reportedly was terrific, chicken Parmesan that was cooked beautifully with lots of grilled chicken a lovely marinara that was topped with lots of cheese and spiced. The ancient grain risotto was again fantastic, and anyone who can cook a risotto well deserves kudos. The dessert I had the strawberry shortcake that wasn't too sweet and had a beautiful flavor of fresh strawberries throughout with lots of whipped cream. The Keylime pie was tart and delicious. The Brooklyn layered chocolate cake was tremendous layers of cake and frosting. It was just a perfect rendition of a chocolate cake. Last but not least was the coconut cake which rivals my favorite coconut cake in the world from Max A Mia. The Abigail's version was a bit lighter, but equally as delicious with coconut frosting that really hit the spot and is worth the trip back. I ordered Lou's rigatoni and was extremely happy with this dish. My mother ordered the shrimp fettuccini but with rigatoni and was also very happy. It had an impressive amount of shrimp in it. My father ordered the roasted chicken dinner, and while he did enjoy it, he was disappointed in the portion size. I have to agree with him, they must've have used very young chickens this time. That all said, our waitress was amazing (I'm so sad I forgot her name, because I would definitely ask for her in the future). We were seated in the older are of the restaurant, in the front room with the windows and it was beautifully decorated with a few small Christmas trees . A side note I was told Abigail's had a very nice happy hour upstairs (love that historic & charming area of the restaurant), 3-6pm.. i don't remember the days, i think Wednesdays through Saturday? And my parents told me you can get their amazing burgers for $7, which is a huge savings. I hope Abigail's continues to offers specials for those of us who live locally and usually are regulars. I'm going to continue to patronize Abigail's ~ I've been coming here since I was a child so it holds may feel good memories for me. This is a great place to celebrate special occasions or for a special date.
