This is an expansion of their Kneeland location. Located in the former restaurant supply location…read morethis spot seems to specialize more in antique and reproduction furnishings than the other shop. First off, they've really done a great job making the location look a lot better. The flooring is nice, they seem to have closed off the creepy staircase that led to the basement, and they've opened a nice little loft to house more of their items. I was struck by the "new" smell of the store. A welcome change from the stuffiness that came with the restaurant store. they also seem to let more light in which helps add an airy feeling. The furniture they have here ranges from 150+ year old vegetable chests to brand new standing writing desks and everything in between. There are some great Tibetan reproductions and what I can only assume were temple doors. Considering the size and age of many of these pieces the prices seemed very reasonable. They also have a nice selection of knick-knacks including these cool reproduction jewelery boxes with mirrors that flip out and brass locks. There are silk place mats, table runners, fountains, HUGE vases, urns, exquisite pottery, and many other things. The center of the store has a low set table where they invite you to experience Kung Fu tea. though I didn't partake the variety was impressive and the people sitting there seemed to be enjoying themselves. I did like the selection of teas and tea sets in the area and purchased a cute brewing tea mug as a gift. I also picked up a bag of rose petal tea to go along with. Both were sold at great prices. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. One of the owners gave us a tour of the loft and explained the origin of many of the products. He is clearly very passionate about the shop and knows a lot about the items and their manufacturing. It added to the experience and certainly made the pieces seem that much more special. What a great little shop and a marked improvement over the last shop to be in this location.

It's horrible but true. The very core of China Town is slowly rotting away and being infected but…read morestores that don't uphold the pillars of the community, Plastic, Bamboo, and Sketchy. Slowly stores that used to sell low cost items and wrap items in Chinese dailies are being replaced by places selling "quality" products. The restaurant supply store that was here previously was fantastic and somehow managed to hold out while the other stores were replaced. The new store is just random. A number of the items, from vanity screens to wooden chests are interesting but the entire location has an odd layout, pricing is well above a casual purchase and I can't for the life of be understand who they are trying to cater to. Perhaps with a bit of a rework of their inventory they could cater to a broader range of buyers but a Chinese furniture store doesn't seem to be a good fit for the location.
