I popped in here after clicking on an ad for hand-sewing patterns online. It made me remember that I had walked by this place a few times and hadn't checked it out yet. The name of the shop was a bit mystifying as I couldn't tell if it was for needlepoint, embroidery, knitting, etc. Turns out it's a little bit of all of the above! Mostly it's a needlepoint shop but they have some knitting and crochet items as well including a small selection of beautiful specialty yarns and kits. As a one-time visitor to that nasty little place on Newbury st, I was relieved at how AMAZINGLY FRIENDLY the owner was. She chatted with me for about 20 minutes, showed me around the whole place and introduced me to basic needlepoint items of which I was previously unaware. I was very sad that I didn't get to pour oodles of money into this nice lady's hands, but my grandmother ended up giving me a ton of embroidery supplies that she can't use any more. Hopefully when I run out in a wee bit she'll still be open, and we can do business! read more

I found this place after I received a Groupon alert that they were a needlepoint store and had a Groupon! It's a delightful sunny little store with lovely canvases, a good selection of different kinds of fibers and other needlepoint supplies. They have classes for all levels, as well as one-on-one help. They have finishing services to turn completed canvases into pillows, ornaments, belts, etc. There are also beautifully stitched examples all around the shop. The co-owners are friendly and knowledgeable. One is a former owner of Needlepoint of Back Bay, the shop that was a couple of blocks away on Newbury Street. The shop also carries gorgeous yarn for knitting and crocheting, along with patterns and classes. They're a refreshing alternative to the rudeness and hostility you encounter at Knitting and Needlepoint on Newbury street. So if you love needlepoint there's no longer a need to drive to the suburbs (unless you just want to.)! read more

I came in to look at yarn; however, this shop is more for needlepoint and embroidery than for knitting. They have a very tiny selection of yarn with a few free knitting patterns cards. The store ladies were helpful and directed me to a more yarn oriented shop. While I was there, one of the store ladies was helping a customer with her embroidery project. It seems like it would be cool place to hang out and get help if you're into needlepoint. read more

A lovely little gem of a needlework shop, tucked away in the Back Bay near Boylston St. Most of their stock is for people who do needlepoint. They carry the silk embroidery floss I was looking for, and I'd much rather buy my embroidery floss in person, where I can see what color it actually is, rather than buying it online where the color I see onscreen is not exactly the color of what arrives in the mail. The staffer could not have been more pleasant and informative. Their selection of stitching materials had every color you could want. Unlike some other small stores, the staff here is willing to let you ponder what color you want to buy, this would be a nice place to visit if all you want to do is browse. read more

They were so, so, so nice here! As has become my habit when walking into various crafting stores, I walked in and promptly announced that I had no idea what I was looking at. The woman was so helpful and nice and didn't make me feel silly for my incredible lack of needlepoint know-how. Yay! read more

A sweet little shop with a small number of gorgeous yarns, mainly from Tilli Tomas. Very friendly and helpful staff. I'm a knitter, not a needlepointer, but this shop has a lot of nice looking needlepoint canvases. read more

I just happened to spot this shop as I was walking on Berkley Street - it's down some stairs, below street level, next to Brooks Brothers, so you might miss it if you don't look down. Very friendly and helpful woman helped me that day. i was just looking, since I have a stash of needlepoint projects, but I ended up buying some Tilli Tomas yarn, which was discounted 40% because they will be concentrating on needlepoint and dropping knitting supplies. There were some very nice needlepoint canvases - I will definitely be back! read more

well, i work in chinatown and really need a good yarn place nearby to get yarn. after reading all these great reviews (but alot of reference to needlepoint) i gave them a call ot see if they had yarn. The woman who answered the phone........ EXTREMELY nice and helpful! Although she told me they are trying to zone in on needlepoint crafts so they are getting rid of their yarn stock, she did refer me to someplace else. Sorry they didnt have what I wanted, but almost considering needlepoint just to give them business!!! read more

This store has great customer service, great supplies and a warm, friendly atmosphere. I went in there with zero background knowledge and a desire to complete a needlepoint project for Mother's day. Both Kim (I think that's her name!) and Victor took the time to explain what would be involved, coordinate the design of my project, quote prices, and offer their assistance in starting my project. They both seem to know everything there is to know about needlepoint, and on top of that, share their knowledge in an inviting, open, friendly way. I was hesitant as a newcomer to the craft, but now I'm excited to start work on my project under their guidance! I would absolutely recommend this shop to a newcomer! read more

Wonderful store! I travel a fair amount and try to visit needlepoint stores in other cities, and none compare to this. Kim is so helpful and has been able to get pieces for me that I have seen on line or in other stores, and she has a beautiful inventory that keeps me coming back. . Everyone is so pleasant that I wish I had the time to join one of the working groups there. read more

Finding a good needlepoint store is not easy these day's they are few and far between. Before this opened I would have to drive to Wesllesley, Salem or Hingham. The Stitch Boutique is great. I have taken classes from both Robin and Lynne. They both are fantastic and have different styles. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful. For a small store they have a good selection on threads and canvases and are always getting in new things or will order whatever you need. Check them out I don't think you will be disappointed. Don't pay attention to the negative rating. I am in for classes on a weekly basis and I see people come in all the time and they have been nothing but gracious and helpful. Maybe they have it confused with the needlepoint store on Newbury street. read more
