I checked out Beach on Bourbon, and honestly... it was just okay. The biggest downside was definitely the drinks--they're pretty overpriced, and they don't put much liquor in them, so they don't really hit like you'd expect for what you're paying. It felt more like you're paying for the location than the quality. The vibe is hit or miss. Sometimes they play really good music, and when they do, it's fun--especially since it's packed with college kids and has that typical Bourbon Street energy. But other times it just doesn't stand out much compared to other spots nearby. Overall, it's not terrible, but it's definitely not the best place on Bourbon. I'd say it's worth stopping by once, but I probably wouldn't go out of my way to go back. read more

Had my wallet stolen here!!!! Along with dozens of others, I came to find out later after I filed a police report. I was here twice - 2 days in a row. The first night someone threw up a massive amount of yuck all over the floor. Literally no one came to clean it up. Waa here for like 15 minutes and left after that. This place looked like a vibe but my friends and I couldn't tell you honestly. We came from Alabama for my birthday/graduation party for a friend as well. For context, I had to get my license renewed because it would expire halfway through the trip. Alabama LEA gives paper temporary licenses until the physical one comes in and my physical ID took longer than what was quoted to me at the DMV. I had no issue using it anywhere else. Well, the bouncer here had a big issue with my license. I handed it to him and he said this wouldn't get me in tomorrow (not even sure why that was said?) and I asked why, and showed him that although it's a piece a paper, it's my face on it and has all the ALEA information on it. It even has a barcode to scan. He just kept arguing back and forth with me when there was no need at all. I had my old ID just in case. He never once asked me for it or explained their policy. He said "for the fourth time, I don't care that your other one is expired." Okay, so what do you need? I can provide more information if needed. Instead, I was met with hostility and told that "anyone can just print this off". I hate that this was our experience because we would've loved to have come into this place. Hubbers, Big Bro and I were walking through just to walk through trying to figure out which digs we were gonna checkout next. The only reason this place caught our attention is because of the music. This place is HUGE! It's indoors and outdoors at the same time (you'll understand should you find yourself here) with plenty of seats and tables. A lot of room for dancing as well. And this place is super poppin' even on a random weeknight. Drinks are a little on the pricey end ($22 for a hurricane - OOOFFFF!) and when you make a song request for the band to sing, you gotta do it through an app that required payment. These were the only turn offs for me. But we had a good time jammin' with the band, the people, even the servers. Big Bro liked it here so much we came back a second time a few days later. I'd still recommend it. If you're on a budget, get a few drinks somewhere else and come through here for the last (or two) here for a night cap. Would definitely return! read more

We stopped in here during our trip to NOLA when we were lured in by seductive beats and a lit patio. As we walked down the alley of brightly twinkle lights it feels as though you're transported out of Bourbon. You blink and find yourself in an open courtyard with a hypnotizing fountain, hip swaying music, and shots on shots on shots. The husband got understandably distracted by the lovely sirens peddling brightly colored sugar spiked courage juice and I got lured away by the multi tiered stage with the Dj playing a blend of hip hop and modern pop hits. When he found me again he scanned the crowd for me but instead found his wife on the stage with all those 20 something girls. When in NOLA, am I right? He'd gotten suckered into a couple of double shot captain n cokes which were pricey but definitely didn't skimp on the firewater. We danced for a bit and enjoyed the crowd, the neon lights, the beautiful open sky and the change in music from all the jazz we'd been enjoying. After a few songs we headed back out into the night in search of new adventures. It's a nice little club, but drinks are pricey and there's just so many interesting things to see and explore in NOLA we didn't want to spend too much time in a generic club atmosphere. Love or leave this place, not quite sure where I fall when it comes to that. My recent trip to New Orleans had me there for work, our group was kind of holding an after party here. We were misinformed a bit and led to believe that there would be a special that our group would be able to partake. That was a bit laughable. Showing up we were told that there would be no cover for our group...there was no cover for anyone. Three for one drink specials...only on certain domestic bottles. It was nothing more than a gimmick and possible teetering on false advertisement to lure our group there because we were focused on young people. As for this place, it is decent and I did have a ton of fun. I drank, I danced, and I repeated. The place is huge. More than enough space to accommodate more people than were already in there. Front bar, courtyard bar and dance floor bar. So ample places to get drinks. It appears they have a movable, cash only bar for nights when it is really busy. The courtyard was a great place to escape. Loved the fountain with the fire component. One thing I did not like was the pricing. It seemed to differ from bar to bar. Some drinks would be small, others would be huge. I didn't like the inconsistency. Music was a good mix, kept my group dancing and having a good time. That's where the cool concept stops, though, and you encounter Just Another Club. On the two nights we stopped here, the DJs attracted a decent crowd, but I can go to a club anywhere. There's wasn't anything super special about this one, and we found other bars on Bourbon Street that we just enjoyed more -- the atmosphere, bartenders, and general entertainment. Would give this place Negative stars if possible. We walked in on a week-day afternoon, the back area was quiet, but we saw the jenga game and our kids (21 yrs old) started to play. They were about done w/the game, and a guy makes a beeline from the front bar to the jenga table and kicks it over. He then admits to being an asshole AND the owner of the bar. Apparently he was upset we didn't buy a drink. No one came to us to take a drink order... but... We told him we'd be happy to. He then walks back to the front of the bar. As we start to stack the game, he comes back again and comes over to us (with server in tow trying to re-direct him), picks up a couple of jenga boards. We tell him we've got it, we have more class than to leave the game like that, and then he acts as though he's going to throw them at us. The Beach at the French Quarters in New Orleans is another dive. They share the outside quad area with another bar nextdoor. Like most of the divey bars in New Orleans, this one makes me reminisce as a student when I use to head down to Tijuana on weekends to party. Remember, those days were a bit different compare to now. Back then you could basically cross both sides with only a valid American ID. Anyhow, the Beach reminds me of Mexico. The outside area, the empty dance floors, cocktail waitresses with huge boobs walking to you trying to sell you a five dollars alcohol shot (Sex on the Beach) with a possible "roofie" mixed inside. Lol. We probably came here the most because it was more spacious. There was one bar area outside where they sell beer and mixed drinks. I believe the mixed vodka drinks of your choice of fruit juices or a Red Bull was only $6.00, which I thought was reasonable. But the cocktail mixes they had available was limited. So try not to order anything fancy, because they probably won't be able to make for you. The bartenders, the DJs, and the people there were quite laid back. Nobody was there to cause any problems which is a good thing. The music was okay. They play mostly "old skool" stuff that's was about a decade old. If you're in an EDM mood, you might as well just forget it, or learn to adapt to the oldies. The bar was cool... Don't expect anything extravagant to happen. Just drink and enjoy! I visited New Orleans for a bachelorette party (yup lol) and we ended up stopping by The Beach three times. No one should expect a classy time on Bourbon Street, it's a shit show and we all know it. The Beach is pretty shady though and I'll explain why shortly. First off, The Beach is huge. There are three different areas: an indoor bar as you walk in, a large patio area with two outdoor bars, and a dance area with two more bars. We spent most of our time in the dance area where they play a lot of hip-hop and top 40. There are MCs...I guess you could call them that who rap lyrics here or there or try to crack jokes or make comments about ladies. The first thing I didn't like about The Beach, there's a $10 minimum on credit cards. Most of their drinks are $8-$9 so it basically forces you to buy two drinks if you don't have cash. I didn't run into any other bars on Bourbon which had this rule. Second, there are shot girls who try to flirt with you into buying those crappy mini shots in test tubes that are full of some shitty liqueur. That's fine and all, I've seen shot girls at a bunch of places but these girls are just overly aggressive. They try to pressure or trick you into buying shots after you politely refuse. One of their main tactics is to put two tubes in their mouth and then put it in your mouth in some weird sexual maneuver. I've sure they've tricked a lot of wasted bros but I wasn't having it. The first two MCs were good but the third was a condescending jerk who liked to make fun of people in the crowd. We're here giving you our money and this is how you treat your guests? Three strikes and you're out. The Beach is in a prime location so they will always have a crowd but there are better spots you can go to if you're trying to get lit on touristy Bourbon. read more

Do not go here. When I first moved to New Orleans at the ripe young age of 21, I loved the Beach (and Bourbon in general). I've stopped going so frequently in recent years, but when I had a friend in town for the first time I knew this would be a stop off for us. We stopped in around 1 am. Things were great! We were dancing and chatting before we decided to grab a drink at the bar near the stage. My friend and I spotted a few empty chairs and sat down to order. Everything was fine for a few minutes before bouncers quite literally physically grabbed us and started pulling us out of the bar. What? We were confused. And, instead of telling us what was going on, the bouncers became more physically aggressive and borderline violent. My friend, who is 4'11, was physically picked up and Carried out. Another bouncer grabbed me by throat. Apparently we had been sitting in seats that some of the owners or managers or whatever wanted to sit jn, and this is how the Beach handled their unhappiness: By grabbing two 20 something women and physically acosting them. I cannot stress enough how unprofessional and violent these men were. We did not do a thing wrong -- I would understand their reaction if we had. But instead these men, endorsed and supported by management, accosted a group of people just enjoying their night. read more
