We've been here 2 years in a row to watch a Detroit Lions game while we were in town. Last year we had a great time at this low key spot, with lots of TVs playing various games. Luckily, the bartender was wearing a Lions jersey, so we knew he would be playing the game. No food here, but they allow you to bring food in. There is vending machine that has chips (Zapps VooDoo, you can't go wrong). They don't have draft beer, fyi. read more

When here for Easter and was horrible experience with the bartender Logan and other bar patreon. They both was very disrespectful and the lady yelled out I was a child molester. This is very unprofessional and I felt very disappointed about the service I experienced. I hope anyone who encounter any action with this bartender to please find another bar. read more

Quiet little dive bar - at least on the night we went. It was a nice change from the chaos of Bourbon Street which just isn't our scene. The service was friendly and quick. My margarita was good, and we had a chance to relax for a bit before we continued our walk. read more

I love New Orleans... please don't let this be the bar that you first experience! The bartenders at night (especially the blonde with glasses) are HORRIBLY IGNORANT TRASHY AND RUDE! After reading the reviews, I see that this is a reoccurring problem that they have. Save yourself a negative experience and go anywhere else! read more

I have never experienced someone so rude so immediately as the bartender w dark hair and glasses. it was absolutely surreal and wish I could 0 star. My first bar and first time in New Orleans. I walk in, it's empty. confirmed they took apple pay because i left my wallet at hotel. which seemed to aggravate her too. btw, I am the most nice polite person you'll ever meet. Me: Hi! do you have beer on draft Bartender: Does it look like we do? bartender rolls eyes stares angrily. Me: oh sorry, how about bottles? Bartender: points at bottles i didnt see, and says nothing except extremely rudely frowning at me. Me: i'm sorry i think i'm annoying you did i do something wrong? Bartender: you come in here ask for draft, we dont have it! bottles are right there! ... she kept going on but i was so extremely shocked by how horrible she was and her vibe and attitude i just left in shock. The whole experience was maybe 1 minute tops. i really hope to have a better experience rest of the time in new orleans. absolutely cant be the norm. i picked the wrong place for my first beer my first hour of a long flight from London. wow. just wow. the ironic part is that I own 2 bars. We sat here for a while drinking and waiting for the bar next door to open so we could watch the Big Ten tournament on the big screen. So we sat here and drank and watched on our phones. Five stars for the bartender whose name I can't remember but she was THE BEST! We ran into her on the street a couple of days later and she remembered us. The signature drink here is called a Sneaky Pete. Do you know why they call it a Sneaky Pete? Because it sneaks up on ya. I learned that a Sneaky Pete is also a term for a sandbagging pool shark. But it's also a sneakily alcoholic cocktail. Speaking of sneaky alcoholic cocktails, you could also try the Schlitz cocktail here. It's a can of Schlitz beer with whipped cream and a cherry on top. It's not sneaky alcoholic, just sneaky delicious. Bonus: they have the old school Ms. Pac-Man here. read more

A small dive near the Marriott. Since it's off the beaten path there isn't much action. A quiet drinkery to grab a few in peace. Tip'em well and they'll treat you well. Depending on the time, you can run into some fun industry folks. When I think back to bachelor parties. This was our designated oasis. A quite somewheres to regroup. read more

Went into this bar this week. There was maybe 5 people in there. Dark haired bartender was arguing with another employee. I order two drinks and paid with a $20. She leaves $7 on the bar. 5 minutes later, she takes my money and says it's a tip since it's on the bar. I yelled at her to put it back. She had to go into her tip jar to get it. Then she starts arguing with me. Got the hell out of there! read more

The drink I ordered was fine, but whoever the woman bartender working on Saturday night, August 7, 2021 was made my date and I super uncomfortable. She had a fun and crass energy at first, but after a few minutes, for some reason no matter how nice I was, she got borderline hostile. I don't know if she thought her comments were funny or what, but we left in a hurry after finishing our drinks because it felt almost like she was trying to start a verbal altercation. It was just bizarre. read more

Best dive in the quarter. The bartender was super nice, and she made an amazing hurricane. Being that we were in town on travel, we had to try one and this one beat the others we tried by a mile! We had just arrived in NOLA from CA and weren't really planning on staying out late, but once here, we didn't want to leave! So fun and would definitely go back. read more

When a local says to meet him at Sneaky Pete's, of all the bars in NOLA, you GO. It was a much quieter environment than anything off Bourbon and is apparently open all nite for local service industry peeps. They have cheap drinks and a great jukebox. And, of course, there's the "local flavor" of which we shared the company of Turk all evening just being a good, if handsy, ambassador of NOLA, were accosted by a semi violent man on the street while our party were out smoking, and had to deal with the very rude bartender that kept demanding we pick the music "NO, not a genre...give me a fucking NAME!" I can't handle that kind of pressure. But, like all other places, they were super cool when we whipped out our unicorn masks for pictures and we even gave one to the much nicer lady bartender. read more

Had drinks and listened to jazz music. Fun little dive bar next to our hotel. There was one drink minimum which was odd and the bartender seemed stressed. Stools were so uncomfortable and one made me get up twice as one left for awhile and those were "his seats," and the next time it was because the stool was in another area and was blocking the doorway. Why put the stool there in the first place? Who knows. Waaaaaaaaay overcrowded. I felt the prices were to high. read more

We were looking for a place to watch the game while traveling through New Orleans so we had our dog with us . We saw the picture of the dog on sneaky Pete's pictures so assumed dogs were allowed . When we sat down the bartender was very rude about the dog being in there . There was no need to be rude. And they need to take the picture off of the dog on the barstool so people don't misunderstand . read more

Cold, cheap beer. Unpretentious atmosphere. A little bit of a dive, but still felt clean. Service was great. We went here twice and it wasn't crowded it all- either time. Great selections on the jukebox. Music didn't overpower conversation. So glad we stumbled upon Sneaky Pete's. It was pouring down rain, so we ducked in and we loved it so much that we simply had to return again the next day. This is my definition of a fantastic bar. read more

Worst bar I've been to in Nola. The bartender took 30 minutes to acknowledge us and was rude about it. Acted like it was our fault he left the bar vacant. Barback told us he just got here while everyone at the bar had told us he was there for over an hour. Everyone assumed they were doing drive together. Wouldn't recommend this dump to my worst enemy. read more

A total hole in the wall bar on Chartres. We were at one of our favorite spots, The Back Space. It was a warm Saturday. Too warm, as more bodies packed into The Back Space. So we set out to find another, very close bar, to keep up our conversation with friends. Jimani's was packed. But on the other side of The Back Space was Sneaky Pete's. And it was utterly empty. At 12am on a Saturday night. Plus it had air conditioning. We set up camp here for the next two hours and commandeered the the jukebox. It's shotgun style with a bar and five large booths. This place has no drafts, it's bottles only. But they had a decent whisky selection according to my whisky drinking friend. read more

If you look up the definition of a dive bar, this place should come up in the dictionary. Juke box, cheap drinks, and laid back atmosphere. The bartender was very friendly and attentive. The crowd was mostly bar flies, but not bad. This is the place to go to get away from Bourbon Street and chill out with a few drinks. read more

Rude Bartender. No customers and refused my LA wallet with a very snarky attitude -- which unless they have a plain insight sign, stating that they do not accept LA wallet, they have to. And they did/do not. Either way, i totally understand not wanting to accept it, but the attitude was totally unnecessary! Will not be returning, do not want to be in a hostile environment. read more

I'm a flight attendant and this place was just around the block from my hotel. I came in and sat at the bar at Zachary greeted me and told me he'd be with me in a moment. He was pretty busy and I told him no problem, I'm not in a hurry. In a few moments he was back and took my order and in a moment, I had a nice cold beer in my hand. I watched him work the bar end to end and he never missed a beat. I enjoy people watching and he had an interesting group to deal with. I had such a good experience, That the next time I'm in NOLA, I'll be back!! read more

Rude bartender, she complained to two other customers how we didn't tip after buying a beer to go. "I guess people from California don't tip, this is why I sleep on a couch". Is that how you treat customers in your bar? Is this the type of employees you want running your bar? Spend your money elsewhere in New Orleans. read more

Being Celiac I tried the Jumbo Louisiana Shrimp & Grits roasted jalapeño cheese grits andouille & green onion sausage after last year enjoying Luke's raw oysters and scallops. This dish was a different take on Shrimp and grits that was a delight in each bite. Luke has great service in rooms with high ceilings making for a very comfortable ambiance surrounded by a beautiful bar and interesting furniture. An excellent meal again by Luke.

We ordered the fried gulf shrimp po boy, which was solid. We also got the shrimp and grits, which they were nice enough to prepare in a non-spicy sauce for me. It was really good. The sauce was subtle while allowing all of the Creole spices to shine through. I was unsure of why there was a piece of ham on it, but it brought a really tasty smokiness. I could have actually had several other pieces of it on there! The service was great, and the manager even remembered my original question about the sauce on the fried green tomatoes, so when it came out, it was on the side even though we forgot when we ordered from our waitress. We would come back again for sure.

And that experience is lost. Which is really disappointing. I imagined something more than we got. The back bar doesn't serve all the drinks and mainly does the traditional absinthe experience- great- but there's nothing that says that and there's tables and chairs but no one to educate you or offer suggestions. There's the back bartender. It's all very confusing. The back area would be sick with a piano player or acoustic guitar player or even a small jazz band and someone to invite you to experience "absinthe" and more so, traditionally. If you're spending $60+ make it worth it. Inviting. Educating. Alluring. An experience. This wasn't the experience I thought we might get at such a unique, historic spot.

My wife had a canned Mockly mocktail and I had a Woodford Old Fashioned. She enjoyed her mocktail and my Old Fashioned was decent. We were seated near the kitchen. It was really cold in this area. Thankfully, we both brought light jackets with us. The head waiter (young man in a suit) had the aircon adjusted and it did get better. Newell was our server. What a peach. She said she's been at Tableau since they opened in 2013. She took good care of us. My wife ordered the Chicken Tableau dinner. I ordered the Maison Salad and the French Onion Soup. My wife enjoyed her meal. I sampled the crispy chicken thigh portion of her meal and it was quite tasty. My salad was smallish and looked pretty wimpy but the dressing was real nice and I liked the nuts on the salad. The standout for me, by far was the French Onion Soup. It was the second best I've ever had. The onions were well caramelized, the broth was deep with flavor and the cheese great. The portion was quite large as well. Quite a value in my opinion and honestly, paired with the salad was plenty of food for me. A loaf of soft bread with whipped butter was served at the beginning. Miss Jewell did a good job of serving and checking in on us. I will definitely be back to Tableau on our next visit to NOLA.
