I recently went to the this place after getting a sub-par haircut at a popular downtown spot. I felt like I had payed a bit too much and was just thrown through the motions to get me out of the chair quickly, and this isn't my preferred barbershop experience. I decided to give Les' Barbershop a try, and I'm more than pleased with the haircut that one of their newer barbers did for me. Don't hesitate to request Kellen Hodges for an amazing experience. It seems like he really loves what he does, and it shows. The shop is open and friendly. Bright and fully accommodating. Haircut was only 12$!!! (Half the price of the other haircut I got, yet easily twice as good). One thing I will say, is I was a little confused on the name of the barbershop. It seems that online it's named Les' barbershop, but when I arrived I was informed that it's the same place but les' retired, and is now simply " The barbershop" I looked it up on Facebook and it seems to be called The Barbershop there too. Hey, before I bought my own clippers to save money, I used to go to Les' Barber Shop. Only $10 a haircut. They have a really casual, friendly service. I always loved having a conversation with them. Les' is a really cool place. If you're a student, don't go to Kampus Barber Shop! It's more expensive and not worth the money. read more

Great little shop in Downtown Eugene. Was up visiting family in Springfield and found this shop on Yelp. Reviews were all positive so I decided to try them out with my son. Yelp says no appt. necessary, but when we arrived they asked if we had an appt.. I told them no, but they were able to fit us in within 30 min. So I recommend making an appt. Ample parking in back. There was a total of 4 barbers working so service is good. Overall, we were satisfied with our cuts. Both barbers made some good upkeep recommendations. For $12, it's an awesome deal and you get the whole barbershop feel/experience. Too bad I don't live here! Highly recommend these guys. read more

Best Barbershop in town, and I did a lot of research beforehand (like avoid Analog). I've only been to one other barbershop in Eugene, but I know a good barber, and I really needed a good one to replace the great barber I had in Chicago. I get my haircut by Darren who is always on point, but all of the barbers are great, Jeb, Debby, and Kellen -- Great conversations, and you can drink a beer while you're geeting a haricut if you're old enough. read more

Review from service received back in August of 2018 I have brought my husband and teenagers here a few times, love the atmosphere. Their cuts always look amazing, never had a problem. Until the day before my wedding and my husband and the boys went to get haircuts. I don't remember the guys name but he butchered my sons hair all because he didn't like dealing with long hair. My husband came to pick me up from work and I almost had a heart attack. My poor sons hair was a mess. I called them right after they had just closed. The owner (sweetest lady EVER!) said come back and let me look. She stayed open and worked on my sons hair till it was perfect! She apologized a million times. That one trip might not have been the best but it was fixed with amazing customer service! We will always go back because I know no matter what we will get amazing service in the end read more

I went to this barber shop for 2 years and the haircuts for my son and I were usually adequate. If you go here call ahead. They get rather surely if you walk in without one. Saying that, I will never return. Before Thanksgiving my son and I got haircuts. I got one barber, Les, and we were having jovial conversation until out of the blue he started bad mouthing "welfare moms" (it's called TANF, as in temp assist for needy families & it is really hard to get. My son and I went homeless once because it is so hard to get.) He then bashed people on SNAP. He went on a rant about 'in his day'. He bashed the homeless, he bashed the needy, he bashed the youth. I got a horrible haircut I had to get fixed elsewhere. It was an awful experience. My son though, got a great haircut from a different barber. My advice is if you're a Progressive or not Racist, or dislike the poor and needy being made fun of and ridiculed; you may want to avoid this place, or at least that barber. Which is sad, we enjoyed going there. The other barbers have always been great and had good (non-racist, non-poverty bashing) conversations. It took a lot for me to write this review. I put it off for months. But that conversation kept nagging me. That was my last experience. May yours be better. read more

I didn't have an amazing experience here, but for $15 for a haircut I guess it was a-ok. He trimmed my sideburns but left some stragglers. I would describe the use of the clippers as "not gentle" but there are some pros to this place: you can usually get an appointment the same day and there's no expectation of small talk so you can read a book or stare blankly at the wall. Or you can talk, some people were talking. Definitely more of a place for men's haircuts. Minus a few minor details, my haircut looks decent, but I probably won't be back. read more

This is the place to go in Eugene to get your hair cut. I moved here two years ago and found it on Yelp. Darrin has been cutting my hair and does a great job. He's very personable and has great knowledge of sports. My haircut is an easy cut that people ask why I don't just have my wife do it. To be honest I like going to the barber shop, having my complimentary beer and chatting with Darrin about our shared disdain of a certain baseball team. I think Deb and the other guys do a great job there as well and are great but I highly recommend Darrin. read more

I decided to get my shoulder-length hair cut after waffling for about a month. I just moved to Florence, OR, from Paradise, CA, and had no idea where to go. I hadn't seen many people around town with great (or even solid) haircuts, so I decided to get it done in neighboring Eugene. I scoured Yelp's reviews and narrowed it between Les' and Analog. They both had strong reviews, but Les' gave off a Les(s) douche-filled vibe. I have to say I made the right choice. I walked into Les', and Kellen immediately seated me in the barber chair. I vaguely asked for a pompadour fade to which he responded was his favorite cut to do. Kellen then pulled up some pics on his phone and it was exactly what I was looking for. I must admit that this was the first haircut someone besides myself had given me in about 10 years and it had me a bit anxious. Luckily any fears were assuaged by the time he held up that mirror. Kellen did an excellent job, kept the small talk up just enough to keep it from being uncomfortably silent (I actually felt quite bad as my nerves kept me fairly quiet), and did his work quickly. Not to mention the incredible price point of $12. I will definitely be returning for my next cut. read more

I was looking for a simple barber cut for my male balding self and tried Les' out. I was very happy with the service and they use the straight edge blade to shave you're neckline. One of the cheapest cuts in town ($12 10/24/12). I will be going back next time I need a trim. I went as a first-timer based largely upon reviews. I've yet to find the barber I really can give high marks to since moving to this area. This trip was no exception, and I'm neither finicky or a difficult head to cut. In fairness, it wasn't a bad cut by Jeb, but my gal pointed out a few spots that didn't look quite finished, and the neck hairs were still pretty fuzzy, so maybe he was in a hurry or we jawed too much. I'll give the shop another try, and maybe try Deb. Somewhere out there is the right pair of scissors (had my fill of wham-bam thank you ma'am clipper cuts over the years, and I'm not in the Marines or on the job anymore). The Best Barber Shop Ever. I am normally very very picky on who cuts my hair but when I seen Kellens work I just had to call in a schedule an appointment. Of course as I expected, Kellen did an amazing job, clean cut, style, attention to detail, after that I knew I had found my Barber. And you cannot beat their prices. You'd think with the service and work they put into their customers that it would be pricy but instead t is very affordable and fair and they treat you like a person and not just some customer. Cost here even with a good tip is still a dollar or two cheaper than any franchise haircut business BEFORE tip. I would definitely recommend it to my friends if they want to get cleaned up. Not sure what the other person is talking about with unfriendly service.
