I'm back in the area and needed a haircut very badly. It was Monday when a lot of shops are closed. Tough to get a haircut the last second on Monday's! I called and they said walk ins were great, but you just need to wait. Ok, so I showed up and had to wait only 15"! That was fantastic! The two ladies were very nice and friendly-but I got a great haircut with a senior discount. But made sure that a nice tip reflected their efforts. Nice little 2 chair shop. Absolutely horrible cannot cut Asian hair. Took my bf to get a haircut and was done not close to what was asked for at all. Provided two reference photos and asked for a light trim but walked out with choppy unevenly cut hair. Felt like she cut off whatever she wanted, extremely unprofessional to not be able to do a simple trim. Do not go to this salon if you have Asian or other ethnic hair. read more

I went in for an undercut, indicated where I wanted the line, and BAM! The cut was a whole inch higher. Well sh** happens, it will grow out. Four months later it was grown out so I went back and was very specific with three directions. Don't cut the top at all this time, two levels on the side, no taper. Amber agreed to all of this. Amber then did not of what I asked. Not one thing. It is not a bad cut, but it is not what I wanted and that is very, very disappointing. Never again. No I do not make a habit of flaming business on the web. In fact I discourage that. If however, you want a specific cut, Amber's is at best a gamble. read more

I'm always scared to try a new barber, especially because I wear my hair medium length and do not like using clippers on my hair. And I don't like the hipster "high and tight" cut that so many men are currently wearing. I hit the jackpot with Amber. Amber is an expert at razor cuts, which is a rare talent. She listened closely and followed my directions, which is also rare. But the bottom line is that she gave me one of the best haircuts that I can remember. And $15 is a ridiculously low price. I was very surprised at how clean the place was when me and my 5 year old came in for his haircut. She was very patient and sweet with him and did exactly what I asked. I moved back to Eugene and was looking for a new barber. I prefer my haircuts like my drinks, cheap and quick, but I'll spend a little more for quality. I tried out a few spots that advertised $10 cuts on 13th street but wasn't satisfied. Walking around my own neighborhood I saw a little place with a red and white barber pole outside next to Euphoria Chocolate on 17th & Willamette that looked about right. Kristie's Barbershop was clean and friendly. It's all women cutting hair but that's cool. It's kind of the antithesis to Red Rooster on campus which also does a good cut. There are three barber chairs, the main one up front is operated by Kristie herself and I highly recommend her over the other ones. She is fast but manages to stay friendly and talk while doing it. Haircuts for guys run $12 plus tip and there are no reservations. This fits my category of a good barber. read more

I picked this place based on the other review, I always ended up going to a salon before and paying $30 for what amounted to a pretty simple men's haircut. $12? Sign me up. The place is small and unassuming. Kristie was busy when I came in and I got the new girl. She was nice, not quite as outgoing and talkative as Kristie but ok. Haircut was good, I described my style and got a razor cut without even having to ask for it (always a good sign). And the end Kristie came over and with a whirlwind if snipping cleaned up the bangs for a bit more texture. So I have been growing out my hair for about 2 years and I finally decided it's just not for me. I am too old and too impatient to complete the transition.
