Seriously the best barbershop I've ever been to. I've never had such consistently great haircuts. The time these barbers take and the extra grooming they provide (hot towels, beard oil, etc) make this the most luxurious hair cut experience I've had. Add in the price I don't know why you would want a haircut anywhere else in Eugene. Also if you have a beard it's basically mandatory that you get it trimmed here. read more

Nice location on a quiet street and easy parking. The shop is nicely decorated and the choice of music was a refreshing change from the downtown shop where I have been going, where they play obscure hip hop cuts at ear bleed volumes. This place streamed soft French 60's pop while I was there, very hip, tasteful tunes at an unobtrusive volume. Main thing is I got a great haircut from Austin and will be returning. He listened, did what I asked and the results were perfect. No idle chit chat, just a great haircut in a peaceful environment. Glad to find them. read more

Very nice haircut from Austin late on a Saturday night. I didn't exactly give much guidance, and Austin's work was better than I would expect from showing someone a photo of what I wanted. Very good. I've gone to other spots in town and they have done an okay job, I always left not really feeling satisfied in the haircut I got. This place is tuck away between a tattoo shop and a smoke shop right by the corner of 11th and Willamette. This is the one and only spot in Eugene that myself and my stepson go to. I have gotten my haircut done by Ashley numerous times and each and every time I leave feeling like a million bucks. Her attention to detail and making sure you are happy with your cut is top notch. Not only is she great with the scissors and clippers but is an expect with the straight razor, always achieving that perfect smooth shave. I would not trust anyone else to cut my hair or trim my beard, she is awesome! All the barbers in there are totally professional and super nice. One time while I was waiting for my appointment, I had forgotten to put money in the parking meter. I told them I would be right back, upon saying that Brooklyn offered me change so I could pay the meter. I was so amazed at how nice he was! My stepson has gotten his hair done by Brooklyn also and his professionalism is awesome. Just with a sample photo from Pinterest, Brooklyn was able to work his magic and transform my stepson into a handsome little devil. My stepson could not stop talking about his new haircut and keeps on me about going back soon to keep up with his new look. Little things like that says a lot about a place and this is truly the place to go to. This is the best barber shop I've found since moving to Eugene. I dig the laid back atmosphere, dope art work and tattoo shop flair going on. The staff are all great people who really make it their business to make sure you get exactly what you want in a hair cut. Brooklyn J is one of the best barbers I've had the pleasure of getting trimmed up by. He's very knowledgeable with his craft and will work with you to find the style that's right for you. These barbers take their time with you, so you don't feel rushed in and out like some places. This is so embarrassing to post because I WISH no one would have to look at this eye sore and pathetic excuse for a haircut. "Professional barber" my ass. Brooklyn was rude, and unhelpful when I was clearly disappointed at the end of trusting him as an "ARTIST" to do a BASIC fade and basic line-work on my undercut; nothing fancy, just whatever he was comfortable doing. He didn't even make the pattern symmetrical, which is again SHEER BASICS, and I had to ask to correct that along with the fade. It was clearly not corrected. I was so pissed off, running late, and uncomfortable as the only young adult woman in the store by the end of it all that I felt no choice but to pay and get out of there. I instantly regretted not speaking up more upon leaving the store. I truly hope no one else has to experience such a horrible attempt at a "haircut". Truly an embarrassment for the store. I wish they didn't have as good of reviews as they do, because they don't deserve them at all for their actual hair skills. The store is nice, you get a warm towel, I'm sure the ambiance adds up to better ratings for customers. But NOTHING can fake a good or bad haircut. And this is straight TRASH. I first came to american traditional barbershop in early 2015 after trying out so many other places looking for the right fit. Since then I have not once let anyone touch my hair that is not employed at American traditional. Most places I always felt like I needed a week after getting it cut before I even really liked my haircut. It's not like that here, you walk out with exactly what you asked for but better. The whole vibe there is great and everyone who works there is a bonafide master of their craft. Its especially good for men like me who can grow a beard but have a hard time maintaining it. Hot towel, straight razor, very helpful advice on maintaining between haircuts. The whole nine. I have not once left there disappointed. Like I said they are all amazing barbers and I have had cuts from each one of them. Jacob just so happens to mesh really well with me and that's who I see now. The last two cuts he has given me have been the best haircuts of my life. It's not awkward and silent during the cut, but it also doemst feel like boring forced conversation. The place has a great feel to it. Walked in just to get some highly-recommended Beard Oil, and the gentleman who helped me was even nicer than his beard was. Gave me a bristle brush for free, just to get me off the plastic combs. I will definitely be back! read more
