First, we were able to make a same day appointment--I called when they opened and got an appointment about an hour later. When you walk in, there's a pool table (I guess to pass the time if you needed to wait), barber chairs on both sides of the shop, each with its own hair basin, the decor included a rolling tool chests, bar stools, each work station had a tabletop tool chest supplies and the walls were decorated with college pendants. The staff was very nice and helpful--even recommended hair product for my husband. The pricing was reasonable, almost the same as I would pay at a my salon back home--however this one was tailored more for a man. Keeping in mind that, unless you catch them during their 4-hour Saturday window, you will have to pay for parking. I got a spot for a dollar an hour, but it is a small factor. Ric was a landscaper for years (if I remember correctly), and I've been asking him about an issue at work. We ended up discussing it through most of my haircut, and afterward he asked that I make sure to tell him how it goes. I said it might be a while before I get back in there, and he said, between the two of us, hopefully one will remember. I like him quite a bit. The first time I walked in there was a man and a woman that knew each other getting a cut at the same time from the two barbers on shift. I would describe the woman's haircut as a flat-top-ish, "gym teacher" type of cut. I could use a lot of other words to describe it.

Patience Muru has been my barber for several years now and this is her new location! The vibe in the place is magnificent (nice lighting, plants everywhere, even a Pac-man arcade cabinet for while you wait). Patience and the rest of the staff are incredibly friendly! Patience herself always delivers a perfect haircut, is incredibly kind, and knows the best products to recommend to keep things looking great! A wonderful experience! Had a fantastic haircut and beard trim. It has been difficult to find a competent barber who can do both - provide a great haircut and trim a beard. I was able to have Tim do both, although from my time in the chair and watching the two other barbers, I feel that I would have been in great hands with any of them. Found Lucas and he was kind enough to squeeze me in last minute -- I'm so glad he did. Best haircut and experience I've had in years. Lucas not only asked very respectfully what I wanted, but he actually understood the assignment and executed with finesse and expertise! I felt very welcome in his chair and loved seeing the campy B-roll horror VHS tapes on the wall. First time I've come away from a haircut with a new barber feeling like myself in years and it's a testament to Lucas's skills as a barber. Would highly recommend his services to anyone. And you can't beat the price for the quality at $30 a pop. Heads up is that google maps kept routing me to an incorrect address so you want to look out for the Hilltop Market and it's in the same lot tucked away towards the right if you're facing the market.
