Very nice people. I was never once shown Amir the entire time I was having my haircut or afterwards. Play the talker. Not a great haircutter. It seems like you might want to show the person you are working on what you have done and ask their opinion prior to seeing them out the door. I read the other negative review, and decided to give them a chance because, hey, it's Springfield: how bad can the hipster vibe be? Made an appointment for Saturday. Walked in to see that there were two barbers free. None of them as much as looked in my direction, this felt a little strange because of how small the place is. They continued to talk to one another while I took off my jacket and looked for the coat rack. I sat and waited, still no eye contact. At this point I noticed they were increasing their price to $25 for a cut. Once I confirmed my appointment and sat down, the conversation was great, although I was fairly careful given the atmosphere. After, I notice he kept his cash and change in his pocket, and didn't offer a wash afterward. I walked out back to my car and spotted the other two barbers smoking out back with a woman. They looked at me without a smile, nod, or anything else. Getting home, the cut was pretty good, and I only had a few stragglers to clip. The haircut was pretty good, not that I have much left to work with at this point. The negative review is entirely related to the customer service and how it relates to the new price point. The Portland hipster greeting, lack of interest in pointing me to the coat rack, and the conspicuous lack of a bowl to wash my hair off are the reasons. Between the cornbread cafe going in across the street and this place, you can get a bootleg Eugene experience right here in Springfield. read more

They say walk-ins welcome, but my haircut usually takes fifteen minutes elsewhere and I walked in here early afternoon to be told they could fit me in for an appointment around a day to a day and a half out. The place looks clean, the barbers all seemed to have great haircuts and everyone in the chairs seemed to be getting what they asked for, they just shouldn't advertise for walk ins and you should definitely call ahead. There is definitely a bit of a hipster vibe. There's nothing wrong with that in my opinion, just know what you are walking into and choose accordingly. They probably don't want to be bothered with a simple butch/clipper cut and that may be why they turned me away, but if you want something stylish to set off your carefully manicured lumberjack beard, this may be just the place for you. I guess I need to stick to more traditional/less modish shops. read more

This experience was disappointing. The place has a great location, and I got to book online. I booked a haircut and a beard trim, it costs a little extra to get the combo. Upon entering, the place looked clean and hip, someone with a long, well groomed beard greeted me and said my barber would be ready shortly. Then it went downhill. My barber was fully rocking a five o'clock shadow. This didn't inspire confidence at a place where it's proudly displayed as a service they offer and have lots of signage about beard and face products. He also had the enthusiasm of someone who had downed a rack of Rolling Rock until the wee hours. I mean, It's my impression that barbershops pride themselves in sharp cuts and clean fades. This guy looks like his whole world was still blurry, and his attitude matched. I know that you're not required to be a therapist or even have the best people skills to cut hair and trim beards, but this conversation was particularly uncomfortable. This is separate from the fact that I kept wanting to offer the guy a glass of water and an ibuprofen and ask "is everything OK?" We saw someone out the window with an animal on the main street of downtown Springfield, which has some new condos and restaurants and therefore more people walking their pets and such. This guys response..."Ugh, I hate animals." Dawg, really? Like all animals? He backpedalled a bit and let me know he thinks birds are okay, but mammals, "Gross." Of course this hipster didn't stop talking about it after making one awkward statement. He continued to back up his argument for why animals in general suck; and people shouldn't own pets or force him to be around them, for almost the entire time I sat in the chair. It wasn't just that he didn't like animals, but more for the fact that he backed it up so strongly that it just shouldn't be a thing. Trust me he didn't make any argument about animal rights, just that pets are gross and messy and don't get them near him or make him look at them. People can have pets! Go about you're pet-less life with your Birds without complaining to me about it for way too long while giving me a half ass haircut. It was groan after whine about why animals suck. I'm honestly surprised he didn't go into white babies suck considering that they are mammals too. I wanted to tell this guy to eff off or just shut up and focus, but he had sharp objects near my eyeballs and seemed hungover and I didn't wanna risk it. I think he was distracted cause the end result wasn't impressive either. Then to top it off he forgot the fact that I wanted my face touched up, as per the beard trim that I scheduled online. I don't have much of a beard, so it really isn't that much work. But I completely forget it and try to end the whole thing after giving me such a barely noticeable haircut was ridiculous. I got all of this for the price of 30 dollars plus tip. I shouldn't have tipped the guy but it looked like he needed a sandwich or something, or maybe it would be enough to go home for the day and sleep whatever was bothering him off. There's no way I'd go back knowing this dude works there. And, my haircut was super uneven. I work in retail and had multiple employees from the Great Clips nearby point out the problems with my recent haircut. Y'all, no joke, the Great Clips people offered to fix my hair! I feel like that kind of speaks to the job this dude did. Maybe he should do an internship at Supercuts? read more

Clean, modern , and friendly barber shop! The barbers do a really good job here. I have been looking around for a new shop, and this is the one I'm sticking to . I think it is fairly priced for the quality of the location and service they provide. Things to know : Parking can be limited on certain days since it is on Main St ( Downtown Springfield ). CASH ONLY as of January 2018. Not sure if that will change any time soon. read more

Such a great addition to downtown Springfield. I always get a good cut and beard trim here. Runs $25 and is cash only. The guys play good music (post-punk, classic rock, etc.) and the vibe is relaxed, informal. They are busy and it's almost impossible to get a chair by dropping in. Be sure to book online.
