I cannot say enough good things about Bar Method Plano. This is the one exercise that I've come to love which has allowed me to be consistent over the last several years. I have never ever liked to exercise until I was introduced to the Bar Method and the amazing staff at the Plano location. The Bar Method has helped me to gain strength and improve my overall fitness while accommodating, previous injuries (knee and foot). And somehow, this workout never gets easier or routine. Bar Method is AMAZING! There is no other workout like it. I have never seen results before like I have with Bar Method. The workout is broken down into 4 sections: arms, thighs, booty, and abs/core with stretching in between. You work each muscle group to fatigue and then stretch it out. It is challenging, your body will be shaking, and in the end- you get amazing results. Marin, the owner, is great! She is extremely personable and is always available via email or telephone if you have questions. When she teaches class, you will feel it the next day! All of the instructors are great! They go through extensive training and definitely know what they are doing. They take a hands on approach and assist you throughout the class. I took a "barre" class from a different studio for about 6 months before trying Bar Method. The hands on approach at Bar Method is what sets them apart from the rest. They want you to have correct form and take the time to make sure you are getting it right. It's pointless to do a workout wrong and then not get the benefits from it. One last thing, Bar Method is not intimidating. I was nervous about the fact that I am not flexible and have zero ballet/dancing background. You don't need it for the class! Let me start by saying that this workout is intense and I wanted to quit numerous times because I thought I would die. I wasn't so much into the vibe of the studio and instructor. It felt waaaay too uppity for my taste. The instructor, Tifany, introduced herself to me and asked if I had done barre before, to which I answered, "yes, I've been to numerous classes in Dallas, Pure Barre, Exhale, Barre Code, but not Bar Method." That answer must have sealed my fate and put a target on my forehead. From that moment on I not only felt like I was being picked on, but singled out for the entire duration of the class. Everything from my form, to where I was standing. She even said numerous times "since you're a beginner" - I'm definitely not a beginner, I'm just new to bar method, there's a difference. I understand that she wanted to help me and make sure I was doing it right, which would be helpful to someone who IS actually a beginner, but she was making adjustments for things that I KNOW I was doing correctly. Maybe it was just a clash of personalities. But I don't think I'd take a class from Tifany again. If you can get past the diva mentality, you should try it out - it is an intense workout. Holy Bars! Want to test your stamina go to these classes! I'm a super incline power walker 25% plus queen. I pride myself on my breathing & stamina. I have the Nordictrack Incline Trainer....and hit a 40% incline.... Ha! In this class all I wanted to do was stay in the rolling baby lol. I read this article from a guy about the classes & was like wow! I gotta go & it can't be as hard as this guy claims. I'll share at the end... I was so pumped in my new lululemon & cute socks! Again ha! The staff was VERY WELCOMING! Love the lockers, the members were friendly. And suddenly the fact I was pimped out in my new lulu didn't matter lol. All I can say is this class put me to the test! I had to stop several times & my breathing was not as fined tuned as I thought. I was stretching & tucking things that I didn't know one could tuck! I was so engaged that there was NO TIME to give two flying craps about how you look, who is looking, & if anything else is wrong with you! I liked this!!!! The instructors address you by name & assist in correction in form--I NEEDED! I'm about 5'7" & hate any strength training, but I love floor exercises. I feel like Yoga would bore me (adhd here). I wanted to stay away from equipment (no Pilates yet) & this is just ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! I never wanted to leave or give up. I kindly walkout of classes that bore me....I was working hard, sweating, & shaking! I burned my little tricep with that 2lb weight! This was DIFFERENT!! 60 mins of pure amazement! There are no breaks in this class & I love love love every aspect, movement, & the potential I can reach. I had some hefty moments of holy WTH's but it was worth it!! I'm wanting to nail these movements & I will! By the end I was so tired & disoriented (out of shape) I staggered to my car. Had to spend about 10 mins collecting myself lol! I honestly thought I was going to upchuck & face-plant in the middle of the place lol! I called my fiance warning him. No running, incline training, etc has ever offered me the challenges & this class delivers!! You want to get better & it's exciting! It's not hard in the sense of impossible or discouraging....it's a lets see what you are made of lol! I loved it, bought my month & can't wait to go back! Ok....it's rare I write reviews for anything other than restaurants but this place deserves a huge SHOUT OUT. I got a deal here for 6 weeks unlimited classes. Honestly I couldn't go otherwise..it's not cheap but if you do have a bigger income than me I highly recommend signing up, as its well worth the $$$$ The staff here are all amazing.. They we greeting me by name from day one. I find classes to fit my schedule so I have used many different instructors and they are all fabulous. The class is really intense. Small toning movements with great emphasis on posture. The instructors will correct you physically move your body just millimeters sometimes to get the best posture and most intense work out. I've already seen and felt differences in my posture and flexibility (my flexibility is AWFUL) There are people here at all stages and of all ages. I think anyone can do this work out yet it's hard....very hard. The repetition and intensity of the movements make it work. I cannot speak highly enough of the facilities, the classes and most certainly all the staff! A+ read more

I've been coming to Barre Method for over 6 months and its hands-down the best Barre studio. The instructors are top notch and great at keeping your form precise which is mandatory for big results. The studio is immaculate and it seems like small upgrades are made constantly. I LOVE not wiping down old nasty mats. The cost is fair and competitive. I went to another Barre franchise for over 5 years. Their prices were significantly higher (36%) with a lot less amenities and only one level class. I miss my old friends but sometimes you have to move to improve. At Barre Method they regularly acknowledge big milestones like 100, 500, 1,000 sessions. Marin and her team are amazing. I've seen great new results I hadn't thought possible. I tried four other studios in Plano and Frisco before committing here. Even though I have been Barre-ing 5+ years, Level 1 is still making me shake, burn and work hard. I'm afraid to do Level 2 and Barre Move! After a lifetime of no results with personal trainers and boot camps, I'm incredulous people will pay less, go to a gym, and stay lumpy and frumpy. Skip the plastic surgery and shake and burn instead. I have a better body than I had in my twenties and enjoy skiing, tennis and running more with better leg, knee and ankle stability. Highly Recommend! I had heard from friends The Bar Method was amazing. Little did I realize when I signed up for the unlimited monthly classes I would lose 2 pant sizes, tone + tighten up in all the trouble zones women over 40 struggle with. I highly recommend attending class 3-4 times per week, especially if you are working towards a lean and flexible body. The work out is low impact high results. I have been doing Bar Method video's off and on since 2003 and the last few months I attended live Pure Barre Classes so I wanted to see what the Bar Method live classes were like. I am restarting again on my fitness journey but am at an intermediate level of fitness so the last two months of Pure Barre live classes were very tough for me the instructors were great however the Pure Barre Studio that I attend is very muggy hot in the beginning of spring to the point of being a deal breaker for me. I was thrilled when walking in to The Bar Method bright airy space, plush carpet, ceiling fans, I felt air conditioning!!! My first class was a Mixed level class and it was very nice and challenging it would be a while before I felt the need to move on to an advanced level class, I loved the music the playlist was nice but not so loud my ear drums hurt as in Pure Barre, I loved the flow of air on me and the fact I could hear the instructor well enough to just close my eyes and get a good burn going at the Barre. While both workouts are similiar The Bar Method sets up at a slower pace I could actually get deeper into the moves and stretches, At Pure Barre I had to take alot more breaks as the class goes so fast and you do have to look around alot to see what is going on, I feel Pure Barre one level class is vert advanced and The Bar Method has advanced options when I am ready it just feels alot more therapuetic and Safe to workout at this pace for me. While I was at the studio I purchased three of the newer DVD's and was pleasantly suprised that they are just as intense as the classes minus flatback and round back. Advanced Dancers Body was more intense than the mixed level class I am sure it is suppose to be more like the Advanced level classes offered and it was more along the lines of the Pure Barre Classes as far as intensity. So I am willing to drive the hour drive once a week and supplement with videos until the Southlake location that is coming hopefully in the fall opens by me. Then I plan on being a monthly member. I much prefer the Bar Method's more calming atmosphere with a good amount of attention by the instructor and as in both places all the other ladies were so nice! Plenty of room for all levels to grow and learn proper form without being injured. I have always loved the Bar Method since starting home videos in 2003 and will continue to be a Bar Method fan! read more

Great place to work out. It is always clean and smells nice even though people are really working out hard. It's also very relaxing in the lobby/changing area. No loud cranking music like at some work out facilities. Did I mention clean? I have to say that clean is a thing I especially appreciate somewhere people are sweating. It is immaculate. The instructors are all very friendly, but I have to say that Elizabeth was my favorite. The owner is also very nice. Everyone is great at being able to help you with modifications and corrections when you need them during the class. They never make you feel discouraged and practice really positive reinforcement during exercise. The best part is that you enjoy it so much you don't even realize how hard a work out you're getting until it's over (the next days soreness reminds you lol). Bar Method is an excellent way to get a fantastic work out. Classes are usually busy so be sure to sign up ahead of time! The instructors are all fantastic. Some are very upbeat and energizing and some are calming which makes for a more yoga-like experience. It doesn't matter which instructor you try though because you just cannot go wrong. The facility is also immaculate. You can tell that the owner and the instructors really care about this business. Also, they go out of their way to make you feel like a valuable customer in the way that they treat you while you are there, and in the extra workshops and fitness challenges that are offered throughout the year. As an extra note: If you are someone with health issues or joint problems this is an excellent work out to consider. Mirin and the ladies will whip your flabby little butt into shape! This is a workout that anybody can do....regardless of what shape you're in. You don't have to be a fitness model although if you keep up with the classes you may end up being one! I hate going to the gym and getting on a treadmill. Who wants to exercise like a hamster? Absolutely love Bar Method Plano, and I can't recommend it enough! The teachers are inspirational and highly motivating and watch you and keep you on form. They make a point from the first time they meet you to know your name, and they compliment and correct you, so you are at your best. The exercises work! I noticed changes in less than two weeks, and I've been attending since they opened and am always challenged. I went to the Bar Method today for the first time. The facility was very nice, the instructor was awesome - very helpful for a novice like me, and they offer lots of class times to fit your schedule. It was a very good workout and I could see how this could really change your body. My only issue is that I like variety in my workout so doing the same thing a few times a week doesn't appeal to me. For those who enjoy the routine and would add some cardio, this could very well be the place for you. read more

Tried a class today and I am going to be in so much pain tomorrow! No pain, no gain. I am an avid yoga person and am flexible and used to planks. However from a toning perspective I think I need to add these classes to my exercise routine. I worked out muscles I did not know I had, my legs shook like crazy. I also like the personalized attention of the instructors. They know your name and provide you feedback throughout the class. It was helpful and I liked that---- tell me how to get better. I really believe in the concept of The Bar Method..The workout is awesome, the instructors are great, and the people in the class are fun, and like to motivate you to work hard...However, during the time frame that I joined The Bar Method, I was experiencing severe lower back pain..I wanted a work out that I could still tone my body, but would not upset my lower back. So, I chose to take advantage of the 1 month trial period...Unfortunately, I had to quit the trial, and eventually have surgery. Once I recovered, I called The Bar Method, and asked if I could pay for another trial month, due to the circumstances, and they said no...You can only take advantage of the trial month once...I get it,, I do, however I thought it was harsh...I really wanted to try it again, healthy,and feeling like I could fully participate in all of the exercises, and even challenge myself to take some of the more advanced classes...So, due to their attitude surrounding my case...The Bar Method has lost a client... LOVE Bar Method! I've seen phenomenal results! Marin's studio and instructor's at Bar Method Plano are extraordinary. The studio is clean, inviting and very Zen. The instructor's are extremely knowledgeable of physiology and make sure they correct and adjust your form, so that you are getting the best workout and most importantly not injuring yourself. The staff (barrista's) and clients are very welcoming...Marin's created a nice community here at Bar Method Plano. The Bar Method is for all levels. There are sessions for beginners, level 2, etc. You will get an intense work out in all of them, including the mixed level. I started out literally from a "14-15 hour behind a desk, no exercise" to doing the Bar Method at least 3/week. I've built up strength, toned muscles, flexibility and best of all burned off some major calories...aka FAT! ...meaning there is cardio in these sessions...trust me! IMHO, it packs strength training, cardio and endurance all in a 60-minute session, at low impact, without injury. (The last part is important to me, as I've had several knee surgeries.) You work every part of your body, core, quads, arms, back...everything is worked and sculpted. Pricing is affordable and there are flexible packages. Whether you are stopping in from out of town for a session, looking to do a couple of months to get you ready for summer, or wanting an on-going work-out regimen, I've found something that has fit my needs and didn't break my pocket book. Bar Method Plano also provides towels and lockers. If you've forgotten your water bottle, they have bottled water for purchase. This has come in handy for me when I've rushed out of the office to get to class! You sign up and reserve your spot in class, which I totally dig! This means you don't have to go extra early to get a place in class or be in a class that's completely overcrowded. I travel a lot for business as well, so the Bar Method is perfect to keep me "on the wagon". I can pick up a Bar Method session at a local studio. So those folks coming in for business meetings with Toyota, State Farm, etc. you can easily pick up a class before or after your meetings. There are early mornings and evening sessions. It's a great 60 minute workout and you don't have to pack your sneakers! If you're like me, suitcase real estate is golden. Finally found a workout I love in a great atmosphere with the most dedicated instructors. They are all fabulous. I never was a fan of the "gym" atmosphere and this suits me much better. I was frustrated with traditional exercise because of problems with my joints. I could not do high-impact without days of pain afterwards. Then, on a whim, I tried The Bar Method. Finally-I found a perfect exercise solution!! Sculpting, cardio (low-impact), and strength building combined with perfect body alignment and awesome teachers!! No joint pain!! Trying a new workout is often very intimidating and you always wonder if you will be able to follow the class or if everyone is super fit and you will feel like the black sheep in the corner. But at bar Method Plano they will make you feel so welcome from the first second that you step in that all your fears will evaporate. I just cannot say enough about how wonderful my experience has been at The Bar Method in Plano. This is an intense workout - muscle shaping, conditioning, and fat burning - but it is also about developing an acute awareness of your posture, form, and movement. The instructors are teachers, yes, but they are more so coaches who know you by name and provide just-in-time feedback throughout the class. The micro adjustments that they help you make and the constant explanations of which muscles you're working (and why!) really make the difference for me. The location is not near my work or home, I have no dance background to rely on, and it's not inexpensive, but I find myself completely engaged and always wanting to go back for more. I've been going for about three months now, and it's been incredibly challenging for me, but there's just something really special happening here. I went to update a review and accidentally deleted my previous one for this studio! That being said, here I am again, writing yet another glowing review for a Bar Method location. I've taken in Orlando, San Diego, San Francisco and call Dallas my home studio. I've taken here in Plano as it's close to my office and was welcomed with the same hospitality and warmth I've experienced elsewhere. The Bar Method has changed my life - as 'crazy' as that sounds in the last 4 years. The technique is perfection, the class is mentally and physically challenging and yes, a thousand times yes, it WILL change your body. You have to be consistent though - don't slack! Eat well, sleep well and kill it every time you go. I burn just as many calories in a Bar Method class as a spin class - FitBit's don't lie! This workout is sustainable and is backed by physical therapists and dance technique to be safe and extremely effective. You'll keep getting stronger - but keep at it! Highly Recommend!! I have been going to The Bar Method - Plano for over 5 years and it never gets old and it never gets easier! Bar is for sure a commitment for me, my commute is over 40 miles. But -- I've yet to find a work out that I love as much. I have a natural pear shape with a tendency to "bulk up" but consistent bar classes have made my legs look longer and leaner. My flexibility has increased and my posture greatly improved. The studio has wonderful energy mainly because the instructors are all so kind. The owner Marin has such charisma and exudes positivity, her attitude is infectious. I feel very grateful that I found The Bar Method. Love this place. I am officially entering my fourth week of classes at the Bar Method. I have two small children, and I decided it was time to lose the weight I put on after my pregnancies. Before Bar Method I was taking classes at another fitness facility where the workouts were very intense, but were causing my thighs and arms to look bulky. I also was not losing any weight. All I was really doing was just bulking up. After a month of classes there I switched to the Bar Method. I have lost 3 pounds so far, but honestly even if I had not lost those 3 pounds I would still keep coming here. I can tell my stomach is lying flatter. Yes I am already seeing results. I have also noticed my thighs and buns getting tighter as well. The Bar Method is focused on exercises that will help you build long lean muscles. The exercise is intense, but different than you would find in a traditional work out program. The workout is focused on sculpting your body to have a dancers physique. I am definitely going to continue taking classes at Bar Method. All of the instructors are so nice and helpful. This is the place to help me finally get rid of that extra 20 pounds! read more

I am addicted to the Bar Method! I have done so many different exercise routines in my lifetime..... none have given me the results that the Bar Method has. I have been a runner for many years but was starting to experience pain in my hips and other areas. I considered physical therapy but decided to try the Bar Method first and work on my flexibility. I can say that after only 4 classes I could feel and see the definition in my arms and after a couple of weeks......the aches and pains in my hips started to fade!!!!
