Get ready to kick a** or get your a** kicked! The coaches are awesome. I love how they are all friendly and especially patiently correct my postures to make sure that i do it right AND safely. I was not a gym-goer and used to be uncomfortable around heavy lifting plates even the 5lb ones lol) and the barbell because I thought I wouldn't be able to lift them. Well that changes. It's has been six months now, and i could see lots of improvement in both strength and endurance. Not only they pay attention to you, they also pay attention to keep the gym clean ESPECIALLY during this crazy covid time no sweat puddles, no sticky equipment, and none of the stinky smelly air circulation. I love the staffs, I love the place. And highly recommend everyone to come check out EVEN if you have no experience in working out. They've got you covered :D read more

This is a great place for folks looking for strength gains and weightlifting beginners. The coaches are well versed and know their stuff and will help you learn how to lift properly. I knocked off one star because the warmup part was always awkward and just weird for me. I went originally to focus on improving strength, and just not interested in some of the very "bootcamp" style warm-up, which is not what I would generally do for a heavy weightlifting session. A 10 minute bike or rower warmup is what I prefer for warmup, compared to a high intensity 200m sprint and high knees and crawling around on the floor (bear crawls?) scenario read more

This is a great gym. The owner Cody and his staff are amazing. Not only do you get an effective workout, but you also acquire proper technique for your lifts. Cody is very knowledgeable and provides modifications as needed. I informed him I got a prior knee injury and he accommodated me nicely. I am know seeing a doctor and he placed restrictions on what I can physically do so I haven't been able to return, but as soon as I get released I plan to do so. Cody makes you feel comfortable and is very patient and kind with all his members. As someone who is in the fitness industry myself, I found Cody to be a breath of fresh air. I highly recommend Harter Strength & Conditioning to anyone looking to lose weight, get fit, and learn proper technique. You will be happy you joined. It doesn't hurt to mention that this is also a veteran owned business. Let's support our veterans! read more

Starting my fitness journey this year, I really wanted to find a place where I could learn different exercises and proper form for weight lifting. I've been working out here for the last 3 months and can feel myself getting stronger each class! I was a little intimidated starting out but the small group class format is great and everyone here is super helpful. During the class, the coaches walk around to critique and correct your form on the various lifts/exercises. I feel like I've learned a lot in my short time here and the gym has helped me remain consistent in reaching my fitness goals! read more

Highly recommend this gym to everyone!! All the coaches are highly trained, personable, and incredibly helpful in and even after class! I have been coming Harter Strength and Conditioning for about a year and worked one-on-one with Cody for awhile. For each exercise/lift, he has taught me the proper form/mechanics to prevent injury while maximizing my results. He helped me set realistic goals to lose weight, and I was able to lose 40lbs in 7 months. He educated me on nutrition but reminded me that I have to put in the work to achieve my goals. While working with Cody one-on-one, I became more involved in the HIIT, LIFT and METCON classes available. At first I was hesitant because I was so out of shape, but the class sizes are small and the coaches are excellent at explaining the exercises. If I could not do an exercise everyone else was doing, the coaches had a modified version. Being involved in the classes has helped me maintain focused on my personal goals. The classes constantly push you and the exercises are versatile. I am always looking forward to a class! Cody makes this place a fun and exciting place to come and push yourself. read more

I was very fortunate to find Harter gym located in the heart of Plano. Trainers are very qualified, patient, watchful and do a tremendous job motivating. Simply love the small group sizes of 6-10 , like personal trainer session. Focus is on strengthening and conditioning and compound exercises. It has become a core activity in my daily schedule. I was suffering from sciatica pain for almost an year and starting working out at Harter gym on a consistent basis, and now i am free of that pain completely. Do check it out. I believe they offer 1 free workout. read more

I love coming here. It's hard to put into words how awesome Cody is and all of the trainers here are top notch. The programming is excellent and each class is challenging in its own way. Members are super nice and fun to workout with. Cody and the trainers watch for proper form and are encouraging during workouts (which inspires me to give that extra push to finish strong). I fell off my training over the years due to work, grad school, and just life in general. The few times I did go to the gym it was a chore and not enjoyable. Harter Strength and Conditioning has made me fall in love with the process of maintaining a healthy lifestyle again and I am genuinely looking forward to putting in the work to reach my goals. Cody helped me with my nutrition which has made all the difference in my training and weight loss. The results I have seen from coming here have left me beyond excited. I'm down 20 lbs and am 100% confident I'm going to reach my goals because of the support and accountability here. Come check this gym out - you won't regret it :) read more

I love this gym! I have seen significant improvements and gains in my strength, conditioning and form. I enjoy the small group class format with coaches who show proper form and encouragement; the unique 12 week workout program designed to increase strength; and the fitness challenges that are very motivating and fun. The class format pushes me to work harder and with more variety of exercises than I would if working out on my own, and it provides a sense of community with other "regulars". I highly recommend this gym. read more

Man oh man I have amazing things to say about this gym! I was on ClassPass when I first tried it out. I was full-on-hooked after my first class. I had not seen anything like it on ClassPass before and it had been what I was searching for since I moved to Boston. I wanted to find a place where I could really be pushed physically. All the cycling, barre, yoga classes I had been taking for a year had not been giving me any visible results. It was definitely not the physical and mental challenge I was craving. In January I started going to Cody's 4-6 times a week. After 8 months of training with Cody in his HIIT and LIFT classes I am stronger beyond anything I ever thought I was capable of doing. I can lift a lot heavier than I used to, my endurance has vastly improved and for the first time in my life I have legit muscles! I feel stronger and more confident in myself and it is all because of Harter Strength & Conditioning. When you take a LIFT or HIIT class you feel like you are part of a team. Everybody is encouraging each other to do better. We all push each other to work harder and achieve goals. The environment is super supportive and there is a healthy dose of competition in involved. It becomes less about "clocking in a work-out" and more about participating in something challenging, and dare I say it, fun! Cody is a true professional and makes sure all of his clients keep excellent form and perform the movements correctly. He changes the classes up so you never really know what your walking into. He has an impressive background in all kinds of sports training, personal training, CrossFit training and much more. For whatever personal goals you have, he will help you reach them. I highly recommend trying out one of his classes. You will be absolutely hooked! There really is nothing else like it around :) read more

Cody's classes are amazing! The HIIT and LIFT classes really complement each other well. The classes are at most 8 people, so you get individual attention. Highly recommended! read more

I have been training at Harter Strength since February 2016. Cody always keeps the workouts varied and interesting. I'm so thankful I found this gym! Harter Strength & Conditioning is more than a gym to me, it's a community. Cody and his team are personable and full of knowledge. I love that the classes are designed to help with accountability by interacting with other members and tracking your progress over time. Having a community like Harter Strength & Conditioning motivated me to push past my limits and accomplish goals I would have never reached on my own. read more

Cody Harter is a terrific trainer with a terrific plan. He has made me a better runner, and kept me in shape, while making it fun and interesting. As a 48-year-old, it was initially extremely challenging for me, but I stuck with it because I could tell the difference Harter was making, especially in my lung capacity and core strength. Two years later, I am extremely grateful for Harter S&C. Nobody else has a gym and group workout sessions like Harter. If you're looking for a great, consistent, challenging place to work out, with someone who will consider your age and injuries, who will push you outside of your comfort zone, but not (like some gyms) to injury, I urge you to consider Harter's small-class system. Highly recommend. read more

This review is for the group training classes: Cody is hands down the best trainer I have ever worked (out) with. He keeps his group classes small so every workout feels like a 1:1 session. Cody truly gets to know each of his clients on a personal level and fits his workouts to their individual needs. If you want a fun, challenging, and supportive workout environment, Harter Strength and Conditioning is the place for you! read more

I was new to the area and I could not have been luckier in finding this gym. The instructors are so friendly and I immediately started getting to know all the other members. Cody's gym is extremely welcoming and has built a great community of people to workout with. This is by far the best gym experience I have ever had and I found myself getting excited to go to classes every day. Working out alone gets boring and I never seem to work as hard by myself, but Cody's group training builds friendly competition and makes it easy to show up to an already planned workout program. Believe me when I say you will be challenged and see improvements in your strength and overall fitness, regardless of your current level. read more

Harter Strength is hands down one of the best gyms there is in Boston! Coaches Cody and Meghan are two of the best in the business. They are extremely knowledgeable, friendly and passionate about helping you achieve your goals. They meticulously design each workout so you are always challenged. I have been a member of various gyms in boston over the past 15 years and none can even come close to them. I signed up for a class and I was hooked. I was doing CrossFit at the time ( for about 7 months) and immediately quit and joined Harter Strength and have not looked back. The results I have seen from these classes in only two months are better than I ever saw with CrossFit. So sign up for a class and I guarantee you will be glad you did! read more

I attended my first lift class with Cody about six months ago. I have struggled with knee pain for many years, having four knee surgeries (2 ACL) on the same knee. Being a competitive high school and college athlete this was difficult for me to deal with. I have a history of finding gyms/exercises that works for me and I begin to feel stronger, but then end up injuring my knee again and have to stop working out altogether. I had one doctor tell me that I needed a fifth surgery. In 2015 I injured my knee again and was not able to exercise for several months. Wanting to get back into shape I decided to try out Harter Strength, but I entered with very low hopes based on my previous knee problems/experiences. I can say that I was completely wrong, Cody has changed my life!! My knee has never felt stronger and overall I feel physically and mentally stronger. Cody has been a wealth of knowledge to rehabbing my knee and very supportive and motivating. I have learned which exercises to completely avoid and Cody is able to adapt each exercise for me to receive the same benefit. I love that I can walk away knowing that I got an amazing workout in such a supportive environment. I high recommend Cody! read more

I attended Cody's class for four months now and I definitely recommend this class to anyone who wants to be strong and healthy. At first, I thought it's similar to crossfit, but after a few classes I found it's different. I think it's much safer and well balanced. You don't need to compete with anybody except yourself. I really enjoyed this gym and I'm sad I can't go there any more due to moving out. read more
