I tried the signature class and enjoyed the experience from start to finish. Upon entering, I was greeted warmly by the staff at the front desk who then gave me a quick tour of the facility which is small, mainly the studio, some lockers and a clean bathroom. After grabbing some weights and equipment for the class, I got started. I liked the blend of yoga, bar and aerobic exercises, and more tension-based exercises with the core. Keeps things more interesting with the variety of movements. I had a substitute instructor who was overall great and very encouraging. She really pushed us because she would often count down for some exercises which would make me think we would be done after that, but then she would lead us right into another exercise using the same muscles so you wouldn't get a break! Overall a great opportunity to be challenged with a full body workout! I would definitely go back if price wasn't a barrier for me personally. I love coming to the the Barre Code Plano and have been a member since 2015. The owner Julie really cares about each member and the instructors always know what to say to motivate us to keep going. I've made so many new friendships and let's be honest.. it's hard to make new friends as an adult. It's my place of choice to go to relieve stress, to focus on getting stronger and to just breathe. Buyer beware. Just take a look before signing on because while it says you don't have a contract, really you do have an initial 2 month contract due to their 30 day cancellation policy. Owner says it stated that in cart but I didn't see it and I always look for those caveats. Amazing workout!! Challenging and you can feel the burn! Place is aesthetically pleasing and lots of pink that pops! The staff are professional, welcoming, and energetic! I tried out a free Barre class here today and it was amazingly excruciating. My muscles were shaking throughout the entire workout. I love how they have 4 different intervals that workout your abs, upper body, legs, and butt. The instructor also told me that they have a kickboxing class, more of a dance class, and another one that I can't recall..but I will highly consider buying a membership here! The staff and instructor were really friendly and nice. They have a beauty bar for all your emergency needs (I always tend to forget a hair tie). The studio is clean and they also have a variety of workout gear. Today we used ankle weights and 2-3 lb weights. I tried a few barre classes at a different DFW barre studio and felt intimidated and somewhat unwelcome. I was worried I would get the same feeling when I tried The Barre Code Plano, but I could not have been more wrong. The instructors are so incredibly welcoming and energetic, which is much needed when I go at 6 a.m.! There are women of all fitness levels in class and everyone has been kind. The workouts are very challenging and you can choose from more cardio-oriented (Brawl) or strength training-focused classes (Barre Code, total body, etc.). There are new routines every other week so it never feels repetitive and the instructors alternate between using different equipment like bands, discs, body bars, free weights, etc. I am so glad I found this barre studio and I highly recommend it for barre beginners to experts! read more

Adorable interior, LOVE the branding that's all throughout. The Barre Code offers a wide variety of classes to fit your fitness needs. The Barre Code, while an amazing workout, is more than just a workout studio. What makes the Barre Code Plano so special is that it is a community of women that empower and encourage each other and themselves. First, the classes. There are four main formats: their signature Barre Code, Brawl, Total Body Conditioning ("TBC"), and BarRestore. Barre Code and BarRestore are low impact (not to be confused with easy) classes that focus on isometric holds and building strength. They're great if you have injuries and the instructors will also help you with any adjustments; just let them know in advance! My personal favorite class format is Brawl - a choreographed kickboxing- based class that is great for cardio, but allows you to maximize your calorie burn with a "strength recovery" section in the middle of your Brawl routine. The studio is also very clean and pristine - there are two bathrooms, two changing areas, and a beauty bar for you to freshen up at after if you need. Everything is always tidy and neat and the props and studio are frequently cleaned and sanitized. Every instructor at the barre is amazing. Every teacher is unique, but every one will encourage you and make the most out of your workout. Let me just tell you that I was a little skeptical of Barre Code workouts before I tried them out. So last week, I decided to try a few Barre Code classes and their Barre-dio class (think cardio dance with some Barre Code mixed in) to see what the hype is all about... Now I get it because these classes kicked my butt! I've worked out for several years and thought I would be able to get through these classes no problem... boy was I wrong. The Barre Code was my third studio to try out in the neighborhood and after going to the other two studios I knew that each one is different. The studio and branding is so cute. The teachers and owner Julie are so nice and welcoming. There are lockers to store your gear, a vanity area and some cute clothes and socks to buy too!. The smaller, focused movements really burn out the muscles and focus on the problem areas! I have been a member of The Barre Code for over 2 years. I first joined the Design District location in Dallas. When I moved to the Plano area I was so excited they were opening a location close to my house. The studio's owner Julie is very friendly and a great instructor. I stuck with the program due to the ever changing material. Each week there is something new and challenging. This is definitely the best shape I've been in in a while, and I'm 5 months post-partum and almost back to my pre-pregnancy size. Really disappointed in the studio. I was caught up in traffic and arrived at 7:03. The door was locked and I could not get in. Most studios, even when I lived in Chicago, gives you a 5 min threshold. For instances like traffic. Plus it shows the studio is under staffed. Someone can't be at the desk for 5-10 min? Really disappointed. I have never had this issue at any Barre Codes in the Dallas area. And I am charged a missed class on class pass when I was there. I started coming to TBC Plano in summer of 2016 on ClassPass and quickly realized how great of a community the studio offers and ended up joining as a member in November 2016. The Barre Code offers a wide variety of classes from traditional barre to cardio kickboxing (my personal fav). The owner, instructors, and CRs are super supportive and truly encourage all clients to be the best version of themselves whatever your fitness level may be. They offer modifications for both fitness pros (try a star jack!) and those who are just starting their fitness journey (push ups at the barre). The studio is super body positive and owns the "find your strong" part of the TBC national mantra. I tried a lot of different boutique studios under ClassPass in (Far) North Dallas, and none live up to The Barre Code Plano. Now, TBCP is my home away from home. You'll never get bored with the different class types. Plus, each instructor has a different routine each week, so unless you see the same instructor for the same class type in the same week, you'll be able to shake things up every day. (Emphasis on the shake!) Class times are also really flexible. I'm an early morning girl but classes throughout the day are offered Monday to Sunday. They even add new classes to the schedule where there is time available (example: Brawl on Sundays at 5 now!).
