Dr. Dan at The Balancing Center fixed what my physician couldn't figure out. For years, I had suffered from migraines and had neck pain. My physician prescribed medication to treat the migraines. But she did nothing for the neck pain. Then my thumb went numb. My physician prescribed a wrist support thinking that it might be carpal tunnel. She said to call back in 4 weeks if that didn't help. When I called back, she referred me to a hand surgeon. WHAT? I asked, what if this is related to whatever's going on in my neck? I want to recommend Dr. H, at the Balancing Center. He gave the most thorough chiropractic session, adjusting me several different ways. Dr. Fedeli is one-of-a-kind. He's a miracle worker, in my opinion. I've been seeing him for 2 years now - the first year I wasn't that consistent with my treatment. However, after seeing the results of what a year could do seeing him occasionally I decided to get more consistent. Let me first say, every time I see him I feel a huge improvement - physically and emotionally. I feel as though I'm "reset". It's amazing! No matter what I'm going through, when I visit the office I leave with a smile on my face feeling better. Now let's get to the science of it... he showed me a comparison side-by-side of my X-rays exactly one year later from the initial X-ray. I couldn't believe my eyes. There was such a difference in the tilt of my head in he X-rays. When I was first diagnosed I was told I had a s-curve to my neck and without treatment I could be facing disc problems in the near future. Beyond disappointed about my experience here. On the day of my consultation, I went to the gym, feeling really well, and went in regarding kyphosis. After my appointment, I was barely able to walk, wishing I had never gone here in the first place. I spent the rest of the day in bed, unable to get up due to severe back pain. I had a previous L4/L5 disc injury that wasn't even discussed during my consultation due to an oversight be Dr. Dan. Through pressure points and breathing, Dr. Dan was able to correct my hips, which were apparently uneven. In doing so, the area that I had previously injured was affected. When I called the following day, asking what to do since I couldn't get out of bed or walk and was supposed to work three 12 hour shifts in a row as a nurse this weekend, Dr. Dan told me to come in. After working with me for a little over an hour, Dr. Dan told me "I cannot do anything more for you" and attempted to send me on my way, after charging me again for this 'follow-up' appointment. After literally sobbing in front of the secretary, she had me see Dr. Ken, who spent much more time with me and attempted to help me. Dr. Ken was helpful and he seemed to care deeply about the fact that I was unable to move/walk and that I was very emotional about the situation (as anyone who came into this office fine but left unable to walk, would be). I left the office, still crying and still barely able to walk, and had to go to the ER for further assistance. It has been 5 days since I went to the Balancing center and I'm progressively doing better but I'm still unable to walk my usual 1 mile to work, let alone work a 12 hour shift as a nurse. I am beyond frustrated about my experience here, especially with Dr. Dan, and I cannot believe that on top of the medical bills that I now have, I also have to pay over $300 for a consultation and 'follow-up' when I initially walked into the office perfectly fine (save for my kyphosis which was more of a cosmetic issue rather than physiological).I have seen chiropractors in the past but I have never had an experience like this one and I can now say that I have no intention of returning to one, let alone this one. read more

Those who are closest to me know that I was hit by a city bus when I was 15. I left me sore and tense. I went to a Chiropractor and they fixed me up good. I owe the quality of my life today to Dr Ken. I have been to a lot of chiropractors over the years and I cannot recommend him highly enough. His ability to listen to and understand the body are simply unmatched. Four years ago I experienced some complications after childbirth and began having lower back pain. Things slowly got worse, despite treatment, until my back began to spasm. It spasmed 24/7 for 9 months. I had chiropractic adjustments 4x/wk, went to acupuncture 3x/wk, and physical therapy 3x/wk. I saw a sports medicine doctor and a back surgeon. I drastically changed my diet, received massage and visceral manipulation. Nothing helped at all. Nice people but very unprofessional. I do feel like the treatments were helping me a little. But they gave me very vague answers to my health questions and how they could help me. Dr. Fideli is a fast talker and I think he confuses you on purpose. Then they tell you you have to come in multiple times a week to get better at 75 dollars per ten minute treatment. But they dont give you a real reason. Just that in order for you to get better you have to come in multiple times a week and as time goes your visits can be more infrequent. Again I do feel the treatments they were giving me temporarily providing me with pain relief. So I wont fully dismiss it as quackery. The last straw for me though was was waiting for 30 min for my ten min appt. I told the receptionist that I did not know I was going to have to wait this long so I needed to literally run down for two min to feed the meter. So I did and came back up within literally two min, he took another patient that came in after me. At that point I just left read more

As I came into the new year, I set an intention to improve my overall health and wellness because my energy just felt low. A friend of mine (one of the healthiest and most active people I know) had such high praise for what TBC and Dr. Dan can do for overall energy level that I was open to exploring it when given the offer for a free initial consultation. Mind you, I didn't have any injuries or chronic pain. I was just interested in - and admittedly a bit intrigued by - how TBC uses a highly subtle and non-intrusive technique on the base of your neck that somehow boosts energy without inflicting any pain whatsoever. I really just want to feel like my best self, so I thought, "Bring it!" After just 20 minutes in an initial consultation with Dr. Dan I was blown away by how he was able to quickly demonstrate how and where my body was basically unnecessarily locking energy in my right leg that was draining me of my overall energy level. He did a remarkable job of explaining in very simple terms and metaphors how our body responds to certain strain by trying to auto-correct; which very often leads to what I guess could be described as your body programming itself to store energy in certain places with the intention of "fixing". I'm not Dr. Dan so I won't even try to further explain with medical expertise *BUT* what I can tell you is that he was able to prove this to me with a very simple exercise within the first 20 minutes of our appointment. I left feeling like I had just been truly educated on ways my body works that I had never known after 33 years of living in it. The real jackpot, however, was how much energy I felt that day and after subsequent sessions thereafter. By taking x-rays to pinpoint the misalignments and working the extremely gentle but effective magic that he does, he was able to quite literally unlock a well of energy within me that had previously been tied up in the wrong places. I could not be a bigger advocate of Dr. Dan's and The Balancing Center. Oh - and I also saw Dr. Ken once when Dr. Dan was out and he absolutely follows the same approach and technique. While I understand a lot of people seek out help when they are in pain, I also highly recommend The Balancing Center to anyone who feels like their energy level just isn't where it should be. read more

With a sister in school to be a chiropractor, I've been converted to the philosophy of chiropractic wellness. I found the Balancing Center through a YouSwoop deal and was attracted to their particular philosophy. I went in for no particular reason then to be my best possible self and have now been seeing Dr. Ken for about 6 months. I can't even fully describe the impact its made on my life. I had a particularly tough fall with some major work stresses and two deaths that hit close to home. I am greatly appreciative to Dr. Ken and the Balancing Center for supporting both my mind and my body through the rough patch and now that I am coming out the other end of it, I am feeling better then I have in years. Dr. Fedeli gave me my life back! I can not thank him enough for helping me get better it is truly a blessing. My story. I was a very active teenager snowboarding, wake-boarding, jet skis you name it! Obviously had many falls as well. One fall in particular I will never forget I fell off a balcony when I was 16 years old I fell flat on my back onto concrete and broke my right wrist. All the concentration was on my wrist no X-rays were taken of my neck and back just my wrist. And at the time I felt like my spine was fine didn't even think twice about it actually. Three years later at 19 I got my first pinched nerve in my neck and could barely move it. Between 19 and 29 (10 Years!!!) I've seen 7 chiropractors 7 being Dr. Fedeli lucky number 7 :) first 6 (4 in michigan and 2 in Chicago) were the old twist and crack your neck kind of chiropractors. The last 2 years of my life that's when things started to get really bad. I was super tired all the time, chronically fatigued and slept 10 plus hours a day no problem. I was also very depressed with no quality life and started to get sick all the time because my immune system was shot. I went to more doctors than I can count not ONE knew what was wrong with me. I ended up getting prescribed 3 medications. Adderall to fix my fatigue, clonazepam for my anxiety and neck muscle pain, and citalopram for my depression. After being disappointed too many times and doctors putting bandaids with prescriptions for my fatigue, pain etc. I used my good friend google and started researching my symptoms. It took about a year to come up with the conclusion it could be my C-1 (Atlas) out of alignment. I thank god for helping me and leading me into the right direction to find this miracle. Shortly after I linked the two I told my boyfriend (which he's amazing at looking up good doctors and reading their reviews he's a dentist himself) he is the one that found Dr. Fedeli for me. My first visit with Dr. Fedeli I was sick again of course with a head cold. I took a cab 3 blocks to his office because walking at the time was too much for me. As soon as he saw me he was so understanding and knew exactly what I was going through. It was so relieving to have someone that understood when all the other doctors had no idea what was wrong. He was like no chiropractor I've ever seen before. He did some test one of my legs was shorter than the other and my hips were off by almost an inch! He took X-rays and then I came back the next day for the adjustment. Which again was like no other chiropractor it was a pressure on my head and ear no cracking no twisting. I'm writing this one month later and I'm no longer taking Adderall and my energy levels are through the roof compared to what they use to be! I wake up feeling refreshed which is the best feeling ever! I walk to my appointments twice a week no longer need to cab it 3 blocks. I'm eating healthy, growing a mini garden in my kitchen and planted flowers on my deck, graduate from school in 3 weeks. For once Im excited about LIFE!! Words can not describe how grateful I am. There are no words to describe how I feel about The Balancing Center. Dr. Ken Bennett took me from being in pain constantly to rarely experiencing pain and feeling 99% every day. If you suffer from TMJ and jaw pain, stiff neck, sore muscles, headaches, sinus pain/pressure, ear infections, allergies, stomach issues, etc. he is your man. There was a 7 month period of time where I was unable to fully open my jaw making it difficult to eat and speak. I went to two specialists who insisted that I have surgery and wear a permanent mouth guard for 3 months without taking it out. I refused to believe that those were my only two options. I love the balancing center. My mom and sister recommended. I suffered from back/neck/hip pain and headaches. I first started seeing Dr. Dan Fedeli. Inroductury sessions are very thorough. I then slowly transitioned to Dr Bennet. Both are amazing. I tend to go in for tuneups about every month or two and notice I stand, sit and do just about everything with much more comfort and ease. I also started seeing Mary Holmquist for cranial sacral therapy --- love it-- I am addicted. I think I am on my third session. She has a very calming effect on me which I need as I am always on the run and travelling. I also appreciate how knowledgeable everyone at BC is. They teach you excercises and how to sit to help improve/diminish pain. I work infront of my computer alot -as soon as I start feeling discomfort - i try to apply excercised and it really does help. I know you can buy package where each session is cheaper but I used my company health FSA account and don't think I can buy package like that - but will need to look into. I also love how the staff is very welcoming and make you feel at home;) I had started going to the Balancing center because I had researched nucca and how it is good for people with migraines. Although chiropractic care has not helped my migraines yet, it has definitely helped the knots in my neck that I couldn't never get rid of until now, and it has helped my feet. From years of wearing heels, I could no longer wear heels for more than 2 hours without my feet killing me. I thought that I would eventually need to see a doctor about it, and they probably would have taken x rays etc. I told Dr. Ken about it and he started adjusting my feet as well. I was recommended to The Balancing Center by a co-worker, and thought it was worth a shot if it could help relieve the lower back pain that I had been experiencing for the past few weeks. I tried to still be open when I discovered I had to come back for a second visit from my initial consultation to get the adjustment I needed. Combined with the x-rays, these two visits totaled over $300. I was a little turned off when they said if I bought 12 sessions, I would get a 15% discount, but figured that if my pain went away, its all worth it. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, because they were all very nice people. They had an explanation on what was causing my back pain, and how long it would take to fix it. (2 sessions a week for 6 weeks, and then I would graduate on to a lesser schedule) I came back for a follow-up visit figuring since I had already invested the money I would go back another time to see if I received additional relief. After this session, I saw that I was billed for a "double session" which they did not make me aware of beforehand. (At this point, over $400 spent in one week) At this point, I had enough and decided that they were more of a money-making scheme then really trying to help me to achieve my optimal health. I contacted my internist, whom I visited today, and he identified that the problem is that I'm having back spasms caused by my hip flexors. I'm going to physical therapy for 3-4 weeks, which will work to stretch this muscle and strengthen my core. I also need to wear more arch support. The doctors exact words were, "a chiropracter would have done nothing to help relieve this issue. You would have invested a lot of money for minimal, if any, results."
