I've suffered strain because of workouts, and continuous marathon training, and his treatments have significantly helped. After glowing reviews about MVP by the fellow yelpers, I decided to visit Dr Horner ~3 weeks ago after I experienced severe back pain induced from work environment. I was very delighted with Dr Horner's availability to see me in short notice. In fact after three visits at the same week, my pain has gone down from 9/10 scale to 7/10 scale - which helped me function better at work. However, what's left to be desired is Dr Horner's and his billing department's lack of transparency to let me know how much the cost of treatment per visit under my PPO is. I have asked and aired these questions and concerns since day 1; and Dr Horner responded has always been that my insurance is good and almost everything is covered. Then on my 4th/5th visit, Dr Horner mentioned that my insurance has to be charged up to $1,000 before I can pay $10-15/visit. As a result I have to pay $75/visit or more for my prior visits. This hasn't been communicated to me in the first two weeks; and out of sudden on the week 2, Dr Horner messaged this cost structure. Dr Horner also mentioned that he can "help" me by having the billing department overcharged the insurance company (in lieu of $75, he is going to try billing my insurance $150-200 to reach the deductible asap). Sketchy much? MVP Clinic and Dr Horner's business and billing strategy are in the borderline of unethical business practice. All-and-all, please be careful before you engage MVP clinic. read more

I had a really great experience here. I purchased an Amazon Local Deal for a consultation and medical massage. I had been having some hip and knee pain, and Dr. Veerman did an excellent job of helping me understand how the way I was sitting at work was contributing to the pain. He was clear, patient, and thorough with his explanations and showed me better ways to sit at work to avoid future pain. My massage therapist, Matt Horrocks, was really excellent. He was very professional and the massage was both relaxing and therapeutic for the specific pain I was experiencing. After the massage he showed me how to do some foam roller exercises that would also help me with my specific issues. Dr Beau Horner saved the day! I came to MVP after tweaking something in my back. When I walked into the office I was unable to turn my head in any direction without excruciating pain. I was greeted by the front desk staff and was offered a water while I filled out paper work. The man who helped me out was very kind and very funny which eased my mind because I was nervous. This was my first time at a chiropractor in all of my 33 years, so I really did not know what to expect. Dr Horner went through my paperwork with me and asked me a bunch of questions about myself and about the pain I was experiencing. After several tests, he found where my issues were coming from. He explained everything he was doing from the start of our appointment. I received EMS as well as an ice pack before the actual adjustment. I was in a pretty relaxed state when the adjustment began, which was amazing considering the pain I had been in leading up to our appointment. The adjustments were pretty painless. I felt immediate relief after he worked on my neck. There were a few scary moments for me because I had never been adjusted before, but Dr Horner let me take a moment between each step to relax myself. At the end of the session, I was shown how to do at home stretches to prevent this type of injury from happening again. I really appreciated the take home cheat sheet so that I can remember how to do them all. I left feeling so much better!! I could move my head and could look left and right without excruciating pain. I was really worried that something terribly wrong had happened to my back, but I was reassured that I would be on the mend in no time. I'm writing this the day after my appointment and have to say that a miracle must have occurred overnight because I feel I am almost back to my normal self. No more pain, just a bit of limited mobility in my neck. I really appreciate what Dr Horner did for me yesterday. He made a potentially (and literally) nerve wracking situation very comfortable and informative for me. I had a great experience with Dr. Veerman at MVP Chiropractic. I was in a car accident in high school that gave me permanent low back issues, and let's just say I've done a lot of physical therapy in my day. So a couple of years ago when a personal training session at my gym re-injured my lower back, I came to MVP looking for physical therapy. Dr. Veerman is very personable and had immediate availability. After an assessment, he helped me get things figured out with my insurance so I could afford treatment. During my physical therapy sessions, Dr. Veerman pointed out things about my posture and technique while doing exercises that NONE of my previous physical therapists ever had. I was very nervous, but he put my mind at ease and was extremely informative about what was my actual issue. I've never been to a chiropractor so take that into consideration when reading this. I have two young kids who insist on being carried pretty much everywhere and was feeling like things were just not right. I saw Dr Gretchen about a month ago and she has been awesome. She told me my main problem is tight muscles pulling things out of alignment so we've been doing bi-weekly treatments and she's been showing me stretches and exercises I should be doing at home. Let me start with the shallow part of my review: If you're going to a chiropractor as a straight girl, a lesbian, a gay guy, or a straight guy...she's perfect. I'm straight, and I have a crush on her...nuff said. :D Now down to the stuff that ACTUALLY matters: She listens to what's going on with you, obviously genuinely cares/great bedside manner -- very thorough, doesn't rush you. She shows you exercises and stretches that really help you get stronger and better between visits. I felt so much better the first time I went to see her, I saw her 4 xs in a one week period. I can't say enough good things about her...request to see this woman! Secondly, yes I need a good bone-cracking adjustment on a semi-regular basis, but Dr. Martinez introduced me to their massage therapist, Mary Mitchell, that comes in the office in the middle of the week for a couple days. I have to say: RELIGIOUS EXPERIENCE!! My body was so tight, so knotted, so stressed...she released knots and stress in areas I didn't even know existed...it was a bodygasm. I had [oh so good] tears running down my face during a good portion of the massage. I have found the massage therapist I've been looking for in Chicago for the last 3 years. I always requested men to massage me at spas/chiropractors in the past because I thought a woman couldn't give the amount of pressure I needed. I was wrong...she can be as gentle and relaxing as you need or has firm/deep as you can take. FINALLY! She comes in MVP during the week and also works at Urban Oasis on Maple. If you're looking for a spa experience you'll have to see her at Urban, but if you're looking for an incredible experience regardless of location, come to MVP and request this woman. I couldn't agree more with my fellow Yelpers. This team is fantastic. I work in an office reading my computer and papers on my desk all day. I had developed a strange crick in the vertebrae between my shoulder blades that would flame up once in a while, rendering my back and neck immobile for a few days at a time. After these flame-ups became more frequent, I went to see a chiro who did not do very much to help (although admittedly, I probably didn't go as much as I should have). Well, it flamed up again, and I read such positive reviews on Yelp about MVP (and it's 3 blocks from my office), that I decided to give them a shot. I saw Dr Mike and Dr Gretchen a few times over the course of a few weeks, and they were both fantastic. The healing they preach and practice is much more holistic than others that I have heard horror stories about. They are patient, taking the time to explain your maladies and then instructing you in a very hands-on manner how you can not only get rid of the pain, but stengthen your muscles so that you never have to see them again. They will sit with you as you do the exercises right in front of them, ensuring that 1) you have the right form and 2) that you are actually doing them. He started by doing a very thorough, professional exam and we were talking for twenty minutes about lifestyle and habits and what actions were different in my life. I suggest anyone with a similar problem as mine to try chiro and for that I recommend MVP chiro. To give some context, I have a cervical spine and neck problem. I get "banana headaches" that originate from the base of my skull where it connects with the neck that extend to my temples. I sit in front of a computer all day and bad posture along with overworked neck muscles caused the problem. A dull ache would develop at the back of my neck, sometimes only on one side, and it would last for weeks and months. I've had an MRI, CT scan, diagnosis of TMJ by dental surgeons, a lot of PT, etc., and finally chiro is what works for me. My experience at this place has been great. First of all everyone is very friendly and courteous, nothing is rushed. My chiropractor is Beau, and my masseur is Matthew. Beau is very professional, knowledgeable, and eager to actually help you with your problem. He will spend a lot of time with you to explain to you your condition as well as his plan of treatment. Matthew does a good job with the massages, and I've been to quite a few to be able to tell the difference. I was previously getting physical therapy, which never helped much. PT might be the solution for some other problems, but in this case, my neck saw improvement immediately after seeing MVP chiro, when months of PT yielded no results. (That's not to say the PT was not good, it just wasn't what I needed perhaps) There are some overlaps between the two, specifically, the exercises they prescribe to strengthen some of the muscles for better posture. The adjustments and the massages however were much more helpful for me, which they don't do in PT. I don't think any cure will not involve exercise and good posture on the part of the patient. While I'm not completely healed yet, as my problems were accumulated over time, I do feel that I'm making progress and I'm finally getting some control over the neck pain I've had persistently. If you've been having issues like mine, I urge you to try chiro and to try MVP chiro. read more

I came in for two sessions to treat lower back pain in mid/end of May. Unfortunately, I did not get any relief which is ok, I know these sessions work for some and not for others. The issue that I have is that I got an invoice on July 11th with a due date of August 10th, but got a call on July 28th telling me my account is about to be sent to collections for non payment! I explained my invoice states the payment is due on August 10th and I have proof to show it. The lady on the phone didn't provide much explanation and just said their records show I'm overdue. I didn't want to risk hurting my credit so I went online and made the payment asap, but found their lack of proper record keeping disturbing. I'm awaiting one more invoice from them, so we'll see how that goes. Needless to say, I would not recommend using this place. read more
