With having four kids in tow, we requested the room in back where all of the arcade games are, to give the littles space to move around without disrupting others. It's definitely a little quieter up there, with a fair bit less ambiance, but that was fine with us. Service was on the slower end, but still a friendly guy. We first ordered some cheese curds for the table and damn are those good here. Big in size, too. A few brews were had, along with a margarita for me. Very tasty. We then ordered chicken tenders from the kids for our boys to split, and I went with brisket tacos. Tacos are on the pricey side, but certainly delicious. Overall a place we'll continue to return to!

I am absolutely FURIOUS about our experience at Foxtown Brewing…read more This place was a COMPLETE DISASTER from the second we sat down. Our drinks were WRONG. The kitty cocktail didn't even have cherries in it -- how hard is it to put TWO CHERRIES in a glass? And the root beer tasted straight-up disgusting. Flat, weird, just BAD. That was the first sign this whole thing was going to be a mess. But here's the part that really makes my blood boil: WE WAITED ONE HOUR AND FIFTEEN MINUTES FOR OUR FOOD. AN HOUR. AND. FIFTEEN. MINUTES. And it NEVER CAME. Not once did anyone give us a real explanation. No urgency. No apology that meant anything. Just nothing. We were sitting there starving while tables around us were getting served. After wasting over an hour of our lives, we finally said screw this and canceled our order. We walked out hungry and beyond irritated. And you know what? We went to a FAST FOOD place afterward and it was FASTER, BETTER, and actually COMPETENT. That's honestly embarrassing for a place that's supposed to be a legit restaurant. Completely unacceptable. Ridiculous service. A total waste of time and money. I am beyond disappointed -- I'm pissed. Do better.

You know I love a good hidden gem…read more Old Germantown is just that. We were in the general area-ish doing some shopping and wanted to get some pizza for takeout some place closeby to enjoy at home while watching the Olympics (because it's in Italy--so pizza seemed like just the thing). A search on Yelp brought up this place as somewhat closeby. It was after dark when we went in search of it. We drove down a rural road past what appeared to be a driveway that led to a farm. This can't be it. We tried again. Navigation brought us to the same driveway. My husband was ready to give up. I decided to call the business. A kindly gentleman answered and said--yep! It will look like you're driving to a farm but we're here! As we got closer to the end of the drive we saw a bustling parking area. While it might be hard to find--the people have found it. And, so did we. We entered to find beer hall vibes with tons of communal seating. We asked if we could order to go which they were more than willing to accommodate. We found a couple bar stools at their bar, ordered our salads and pizza, and then enjoyed a couple of stout beers while we waited. The beers, salad, and the pizza straight from their wood fired pizza oven were all fantastic. We got one of their specialty pizzas which was a white pie that comes with ricotta (as well as mozz) mushrooms, and basil on a crust that has just the right amount of chewiness and char. Lovely! The folks working here were above-and-beyond friendly. And, one told us that they have a large outdoor patio during pleasant months. We will definitely be back during the pleasant months. And, let's be real--during the less than pleasant months as well. Get to it!

Upon driving in there is a building for the restaurant along with nice outdoor seating, and area for kids to play! We went in mid May on a sunny but cool evening. The kids loved having the sand area and toys to play with while waiting for dinner to arrive. They have a good menu, but there seemed to be a decent amount of items unavailable especially the sausages my friends wanted to try. We ended up with the spring pizza, sassy pig, a plain cheese, and then a three combo of sausages. I thought the pizza was all good, not the best I've ever had but solid. The spring pizza was my favorite. The sassy pig was very unique but good! Personally, I wasn't a huge fan of the sausages but others in my group liked them. We upgraded that to include fries and there was only a very small amount. We will definitely be back, seems like a great spot for groups!

When is a "Traditional Bratwurst" served with deep fried potatoes. It's all show, expensive show. They push the beer and drinks, sure, it's German themed. What apparently is not understand by the owners is that in order to consume alcoholic beverages one needs a good meal in them. Like a broth soup! Does this place even know how to make soup without cheese? What sauerkraut? Is sauerkraut German? Apparently not in Germantown. And the multiple plug--in air fresheners in the bathroom oozing out the fake covering odor onto the people on the bar stools and sitting at the tables, covering whatever real scent of food is left. The kitchen is in the building next door - Relish Supper club. In a time when Germantown really needs a place for quality German food, the owners (who also own Stillery in Richfield and some other place) give us a supper club. RIP German heritage in Germantown. The best place for German food in all of Milwaukee is still at 59th & National, not in Germantown.

This restaurant sits in the Mequon Public Market and legitimately has better fried fish (and chips) than St. Paul Fish Market just across the parking lot, as crazy as that sounds. They also have a respectable beer selection, plus some good cocktails on offer. We were acknowledged and never ignored by staff even though there's an option to order everything through a QR code on the table. The manager stopped by a few times to check on us before it got overly busy, which was also nice. I'm excited to come back here and enjoy the patio when it warms up.
