My daughter bought her first car here! First... it wouldn't start 12 hours after purchasing. We had to have it jumped 3 times before we could get it back to the dealership. They sent us to their mechanic, they put a brand new battery in it. OK fine! Then her 30 day tag was about to expire the next day, so I called the dealership looking for it. Patrick answered said that the tag should be on his desk the next afternoon. He called said to come get it we weren't able to that day and we were going out of town the next and she was not gonna be able to get there due to the fact that her tag was now expired. I called the office I spoke to a lady in the office told her the situation asked her if somebody would be able to maybe drop the tag off or overnight it, she said absolutely not and that nobody would pick her up due to Covid cops were not pulling anybody over for tags anymore and that she would be fine. Absolutely not! I was not going to allow my child to be driving around with expired 30 day tags. So lady in the Office aggressively tells me she will overnight the tags and proceeds to hang up on me. My daughter loses her keys at work, so I bring her the spare key. The spare key does not work! So she has to leave her car overnight at work. She gets to work the next morning the car is not there. Because we were sold a car with a spare key that did not work her car was stolen at 1:45 AM from her parking lot at work! So thank you Patrick for your attention to detail and for selling us a car with a spare key that doesn't work. This ultimately led to my daughter's first car being stolen before she can make her first payment. I wouldn't recommend this dealership to anyone if you read the reviews all the good ones are from over years ago. This dealership acted as if I was bothering them with every question that I had. I called Patrick and spoke to him in the morning when I thought the car was towed and not stolen and I asked him if maybe he had given us the wrong key he said he didn't know he just gave us what was in the file the car key that came with it. So basically they didn't even try the keys before they sold us the car so who knows if the car key was the right key because they didn't even try it. Do yourself a favor if you're looking for a car for your child or anyone under the age of 18 or anyone that you care about their safety don't buy from here! We now have a child who is filing police reports and having to deal with insurance claims. So thanks again Patrick and team! read more

I was so proud of myself for purchasing my first vehicle with these people. I bought a 2010 Subaru Forester from this group in June of 2020. I was told the car had barely been driven, no accidents, no water damage anything. Not even 6 months within having the vehicle I noticed that my car was visibly leaning to one side. I had my mechanic look at my vehicle and he expressed it was literally NO WAY my vehicle wasn't involved in a flood. Underneath of my car was completely rotten. The struts were so rusted they broke which was why my car was visibly leaning. Fast Forward 2021: I was in a car accident in August of this year ... Auto Finders was supposed to submit my gap insurance claim after my insurance paid for my car being totaled. The claim was a total of about $200 AT THE BEGINNING. It is now December. No claim has been submitted on my behalf, no claim has even been started. And my credit is SUFFERING. It's as if they don't care because it isn't them which is unbelievable for me to be a paying customer. It's been 4 months and they have done NOTHING. Would not recommend. They make it seem as if they care, and will be here with anything needed and they truly will not. read more

I wish I could leave zero stars. After not even 3 months of having my car, I started having issues. Every sensor that could be on came on after a few drives with the car. I didn't think much of it until the car started to constantly overheat. After $1200 the car still wouldn't drive properly. Come to find out the head gasket might be blown which is an additional $1500-$2000 job. I'm a single mom with a special needs child. I've made my car payment on time since having the car. I was in a rough situation and they knew that. I feel like I was taken advantage of. After calling 3-4 times it still doesn't seem to be a concern for them so I decided to hire an attorney. I've given them two weeks to try and make this right or work with the loan holder to get me into a new vehicle and work with my loan. They haven't. So I obviously have to take other measures. Overall, I've spent $150 in Uber/Lyft fees and $1200 in pointless repairs due to their negligence. I understand that not all cars aren't guaranteed but this is absolutely horrendous. read more

I'm not sure why the lower rating for this dealership but I had the best experience in my life buying a car. And I'm 70 yrs old. I have gone through THAT irksome, time consuming, back-and-forth, BS many, many times. AND I did it from California. They were low key, it was a no haggle price (I know because I tried) they were honest & helpful when describing the Nissan Xterra. They sent lots of photos, went out to check the car for the things I had questions about and came back with answers, etc, etc. Now comes the Really great part. The car was for my daughters birthday. She is a single mother with a car falling apart. I wanted to surprise her with a new(er) one. Once the purchase was made they agreed to get it to my daughter to surprise her for her birthday. She lives three and a half hours away from Durham. Not only that she has a tight schedule with her work so time slot to get it to her while she was at home was very slim. The son of the owners, Patrick, actually cleaned up the car put balloons in it and drove the 3 1/2 hours to Kitty Hawk to surprise her in the morning before she went to work. Stay away from this place if your looking for a reputable place to purchase your car. I flew in from Washington DC on June 19th 2023 and drove the car home and found the alignment to be in really bad shape. I called and was told it was fine when it left here. I asked about their superb 3 month bumper to bumper warranty and again was told it was fine before you left the lot. I had the alignment done and just this past week August 16th both rear tires were leaking air. Come to find out the rear tires were pretty much shreaded prior to the alignment and were about to blow. I was told again the warranty did not cover the alignment or the tires. Not to mention my biggest question prior to purhase were the tires. I was told it passed inspection and they had half the life left. This was a huge scam and they would not back anything from the beginning. I should have known when I picked up the car and the inside was dirty and they did a quick vacuum. Stay away!!! read more

I purchased a used (1998 BMW) last Christmas for my daughter. I thought this was a good purchase after driving the vehicle, and, the sells pitch about it being a "real cream puff" having had only 1 owner (an ex IBM Manager) blah, blah blah. . Within the 1st few months the vehicle began leaking from the transmission and the oil pan (practically ruined the garage floor of my 3 years old home). To date, I've spent $980.00 on a broken ignition switch, $2350.00 on a new transmission, and another $816 on the replacement of another oil pan with sills and gaskets, etc. Needless-to-say I'm both hurt (because of the lies) and upset because I've nearly paid for this car a 2nd time.... I think it's pretty funny how the owner only responds to the bad reviews, and there are always excuses as to why the customer is wrong. Also, it's very sad that these "buy here, pay here" dealerships offer financing for people with bad credit, and sell them faulty vehicles knowing they will not be able to afford the fix. A few things to note: 1. The truck is one owner, 120,000 miles. 2. The truck is under a three month, 3000 mike warranty. 3. The oil was replaced even though I told him I wanted to send the oil off for an analysis to find out if any additives were put in the truck to cover up a leak. 4. When the oil was replaced, it was black and thick, and had white smoke "billowing" out. Billowing was the exact word used by Ford. The "three month warranty" is only valid at the shops that the owner, Michael, deals with. The owner of Walkers Garage personally told me that he isn't capable of doing an analysis, and noticed that the f150, one owner, 120,000 mile truck is burning oil and has burned one quart of oil in 2700 miles. The truck is billowing smoke, meaning a blown head gasket, but Walkers Garage told me that he will not call is anything other than a "cold crank" because Michael, the owner of Auto Finders gives him so much business. He also said that if the head gasket is busted, he has no idea how to tell, and has no ability to fix it. We've offered to take it to Ford and pay the analysis, and if it comes back as the head gasket, we asked for it to be fixed. If it's not the head gasket, we told Michael we would pay for the fix. They told us absolutely not, it's "their warranty" and they will only take it to "their shops." Michael said Ford will do unnecessary work in order to get payment. I can already tell you, Michael is going to respond by telling me he offered to fix the truck, but we walked out the door. We have been there a few times now to ask if they would fix the truck, and he says "I won't fix what isn't broken" and "we will only fix it at our selected shops." When we politely kept asking, he got very defensive, and kicked us out. That's where the "we're offering to fix your truck, but you walked out the door" will come into play. Snakes don't always look like snakes. Most time they look like well-off, educated white people. read more

Been looking for a new truck for quite a while now I guess I'm pretty picky. Saw they had the truck I was looking for online but was pretty skeptical after having checked so many out that were torn up, beat up, rusted out, had mechanical issues... So I called and spoke to mike and he went over the car fax with me and sent me a copy. Explained that they had just gotten the truck in on trade. Mike did tell me about a ding or two that was on the truck but after seeing so many that was the least of my worries. I went by expecting to be disappointed. I got there met with Mike and the rest of their staff and found the truck was exactly as Mike had told me. The truck looked GREAT. Was exactly what i had been looking for. I purchased a vehicle from Auto Finders back around 2014. The Expedition was dirty and I thought that I could clean it up as I really needed a vehicle. However, I could not bear it, I thought that I could just clean it up and was not able to and then I found thing broken inside (seats did not work, radio did not work, major stains on the roof, grime on the steering wheel that I could not scrub off, engine smoked really bad). Looks like they took advantage of me and my situation.I called several times and they were not responsive after my initial call with my concerns. Time was of the essence, I had a coworker follow me back to Auto Finder's site and asked them to allow me to return the truck. I am thankful that it was within the 3 days (which was my argument) and I was able to get my money back. This was a nice outcome but not an easy one as they took my call initially and then ignored me until I drove up in the parking lot ( I called every couple of hours for 1.5 days). Purchased a vehicle from The Auto Finders eleven years ago and were pleased with the experience so we purchased a new Honda Odyssey through The Auto Finders on August first. While the purchase and delivery went well, the follow-up - tag, title, etc., has not. Our temporary tag expired yesterday and we still don't have the permanent plate. When I contacted the person who handles tags and titles earlier this week, I was assured that we'd have the plate today. Now I'm assured I'll have it tomorrow - and I have no confidence in that assurance. There was a small part in the vehicle's dash missing at delivery and Michael assured us that he'd get it and send it to us; it's a very inexpensive part. We haven't seen that yet either and I doubt we ever will. Next time we need a vehicle I think we'll shop elsewhere. read more
