The bed that we stayed in felt Hard as a rock pillow was horrible. Plus the room smelled like a stale ashtray from cigarette smoke. We stayed in room 118 and it was horrible. DO NOT STAY HERE! Worst hotel I've ever stayed in. On 21st July I booked for 1 night, and paid through Booking.com then on arrival they asked for a credit card, after 3 hours they charged me again $427.66. I luckily got notified so I then went to reception which because it was under 24 hours the refund went straight back into my account. Then, 3 days later they take the $427.66 out of my account again, this time it takes 12 days to go back into my account after constantly calling them. THEN, on 7th August they try again twice to take the $427.66 out! I'm now in the UK so would be very difficult getting a refund. read more

Well if you want to go to the Hamptons and you just need a bed and a shower, this will suffice. If you need wifi, it might be a problem. Rooms were ok, clean, water worked cable worked, and there is a pool. Although the hotel is about 50 feet from Montauk Highway , phone service drops immediately, and it dosent matter what service you have. The hotel wifi is suspect, if you are on a call and moving around, good luck. Thank goodness this was a work trip so I wasnt really there to have fun so I could deal for a few days but if I paid out of my own pocket...omg.Overall, i do not recommend this place read more

We originally had the Bentley hotel, but when we came in late there was no one there, so they gave us this place instead (which looked a lot better, so yay!). They said they just remodeled it, and it is definitely bigger than my studio apt! I really liked the room, though the walls were a bit rusty (pics attached) and there were a pile of ants on the floor. Other than that, the room is spacious, it's a great deal and location, and the bagels in the AM were super fresh and delicious!!!! Yummmmy! read more

First off, they misled us about the room we reserved. They show a photo of a suite type king room which is what we wanted. But when we arrived, we were given a plain king room. We asked for the room we thought we had booked and were told there is only one room like that but it was occupied. We made them give us a discount. Then on the third and last day of our stay, we went down to the office at about 8:50 am to get a beach pass (which is part of the booking package) and were told there were none left. They told us to " try later, maybe someone will return theirs." Really? You would think they would at least advise you to come before dawn if you want a beach pass!! And the icing on the cake, when we settled into the room we found that the remote does not control the TV! This has led me to believe that Southampton does not want visitors. If you don't live here don't bother! NEVER COMING BACK! read more

Never, ever again. Horrible experience. After booking, received email confirmation that our request for early check in had been approved. Upon arrival they claimed to have no knowledge of this. Also, be wary of the $400 hold they place on your credit card for letting you borrow their beach pass for a few hours. They tell you the hold will come right off, but it stays on your card for days. The rooms are clean & look like the pics, but the pool is no where near that nice, heated or clean. I saw a toothpick floating in it. We had to argue to be put on the first floor, even through our reservation stated we would be, only to wake up the next morning to an ant invasion. This is one of those you-get-what-you-paid-for places. And don't get me wrong, they're not cheap, but they are considerably moderate-priced for the area. We booked late in the season, and the Atlantic was the only hotel with availability. For fear of losing that, we booked it without looking at reviews. Upon check in, we were given a spacious pool-facing room, to accommodate for our 4 person occupancy. The second bed was even in it's own semi-room with a privacy curtain. Everything looked great for the first five minute. Then we started noticing the little things, like the broken light knobs, the missing hangers, the worn out towels, and oh, right, the broken shower knob. We couldn't turn on the hot water. They were very nice and immediately gave us a different, identical room. Identical as in also run down and lots of broken knobs, no hangers, only 1 suitcase rack, etc. etc. The bathroom was in dire need of renovation, as everything was cracking and falling apart. The water ran colored at first, as if no one had run water through the pipe in quite some time. The second room, being the only one available to accommodate 4 people, also happened to be right next to some construction-type work, where we heard drills or hammers of some sort for a few hours when we first checked in. Honestly, I wish I could've rated this hotel better because I had a great stay. Everyone was so friendly and the rooms were very spacious (though outdated - they could've used some maintenance). However, I left my android tablet and after numerous attempts to get it back with the employees, I Googled its location: Kosovo. I think we can all assume what happened. The first time I called about my tablet, I was told that I needed to have someone pick it up. When I asked if I could do a USPS/ UPS/ FedEx pickup, they said that I needed to provide the packaging. Wow, what a pain - I called all mail services and no one also pre-delivered the packaging. I finally got fed up and mailed them the packaging myself. A few weeks later, I never heard back so I looked online and saw that someone in KOSOVO was actually USING my tablet and all my accounts. They were logging onto my accounts and my games, among other things. What a nightmare! When I called to find out what happened, they said they saw it there but it wasn't there anymore. They said they would call me back a few weeks ago but they never did. Honestly, I'm more upset that they made it so difficult for me to get my tablet back so that they could sell it online and then they lied about it. Just came back from a quick weekend stay at The Atlantic with my husband. I was nervous after reading all the bad reviews but we had no problems at all during our stay. It seems like there's a lot of variation from room to room, based on the reviews and photos. We stayed in room 223 on the second floor. It was super clean with new laminate flooring and modern furniture. It was also super spacious, you could easily fit 5-6 people in this room if you needed to. The bathroom could definitely use some updating but I'm not the type to get all bothered about cracked tile or cheap toilet paper... The free continental breakfast was actually better than others I've experienced. There was a decent selection of bread, english muffins, pastries and spreads like butter, cream cheese, peanut butter, nutella, and jelly. I've definitely had worse stays at nicer, more expensive places and I can't complain about this place at all. read more

You definitely get what you pay for here. If you want to be in the area and you don't want to pay a lot of money this is what you get. It's not bad though. It's just not good either. I would stay here again the next time I'm in the area of the price is right and I guess that's what matters the most. The positives aside from the price is the staff seems nice, and the rooms are a decent size. There is free wifi and a complimentary breakfast which mostly consists of bagels muffins and cereal. The negatives are that the bed feels really really crappy. Like the springs may as well not even be in the mattress. The shower head should be replaced. It's wonky as heck. You could hear almost every car that drove past on the roadway outside. Not too bad at night but in the early morning during it gets noisy. Basically if feels like if they put $1000 into each room by replacing the mattress, shower head and windows this place would be a lot nicer. read more

It's really hard to write reviews of hotels, especially seasonal ones because the prices can change SO much and thus totally affect your viewpoint. I think often prices are deleted from Yelp, so this review is based on spending less than 3 benjamins for one night, with a late booking, for a single Sat night stay in June. As a side..... It makes me laugh when people complain about prices in the Hamptons, it's a bit like moaning about it being too sunny in Dubai, the fact is that people come to the Hampton's not DESPITE it being expensive, but BECAUSE it's expensive, if the Hampton's were cheap, they would not be the Hampton's, So to moan about prices is missing the point. Nonetheless, this hotel for my booking, was remarkably good value. It's clear that the new owners have taken over what used to be a dump and are gradually starting to make it a wonderful place, so the general standard is very acceptable, but rather unequal. There are touches from some of the best hotels in the world and the owners have done a great job of prioritizing. In a few years this place will be great, but at the moment it's certainly not a luxury hotel, but nor is the pricing based on that. Pro's - HUGE Room, one of the largest I have ever stayed in. - Very comfy beds and great bedding. - Great value. - Very clean. - No min stays in the peak season. - Great pool area, - Fast free wifi, - Very friendly staff. Con's - Very unequal standard of accommodation, a lot of parts of the room are from another era- bulky old fashioned TV's, terrible kitchen area, nasty old fashioned light switches. - This hotel will be a lot more expensive for most peak weekends. - At the end of the day, this is a motel style place, it won't ever feel posh to check in. - The more good reviews like this, the more the hotel will have the right to charge more. read more

The Atlantic provides decent value in an area not known for it. No axe to grind here. Adequate, clean room (renovated in 2015); with a flat screen TV, queen bed, baseboard heaters, a modest A/C, powerful shower and a walk-in closet. Honestly, the place is being brought back to life after years in decline. Small table for two and IKEA-type furniture, bleached wood floors. Ask to have your room face the pool side. It's a throwback beach motel with open gallery hallways, continental breakfast buffet included and an outdoor pool with deck. The Atlantic is right on 27/39, close to everything we wanted to be near (Hampton Bays, Bottle Hampton, Riverhead). Of course, being nice to staff results in a pleasant stay. The place can get overrun with NYC Type A guests who take out their Hamptons frustrations (high food cost, drinking culture, local police) on the staff and furnishings. I have stayed a few weekends and had a great time by keeping expectations realistic. It's a beach motel, not the Palace. read more

The room we booked was not the room we had when we arrived! when we checked in they took a 400$ hold on our cc for the beach pass which we were asked to return at the end of the day for each day which we did.... one of the days we went to the front desk for a pass at 8:50 am they said sorry we don't have any more passes so you're on your own! this was ridiculous no one ever said hey come early to get a pass and why don't they have passes to accomodate every room!!! there are many beaches on the pass so using covid-19 as an excuse of capacity is BS. Really wish that my boyfriend and I would have looked at the reviews for this place, other then the ones on the hotel generated search screen by Google. We had a wedding to go to and this was one of the closest most inexpensive at $142/night after taxes. We let the pictures on their page sell us. Problems with the room. * The room had no heat!! For the month of November the temperature was in the 40's. We were hopeful in thinking it would eventually "kick in". *The room was clean! Except for the huge white stain on the carpet which was so suspicious looking. *The bed sheets seemed clean... If they weren't we had no choice if we didn't want to freeze all night. (We slept in full sweat pants and hoodies. Luckily we had these!!) *Last but not least, getting ready to leave and the bathtub had a huge cockroach. This was before I was going to try and shower. At that point we forewent the showers packed up and left. ...... Spoiler we also skipped the complementary breakfast. I do regret not bothering to telling management at that point in time. I just wanted to get out of there. Also while checking out I was never asked how my stay was. I didn't even get a thank you!!! I got... "Checking out? What room?" I'm reading multiple reviews regarding theft and credit card fraud. Please believe them. Please. I was "accidentally" charged an exorbitant amount of money (when they cancelled my room due to "over booking" and "attempted" to "refund" my deposit) Then sent me some phony receipt claiming to refund the $800 charge. I never received the refund. So they "attempted" to refund again. Then charged me ANOTHER $800 without my approval when one of the managers essentially accused me of lying, claiming I received the initial refund (which I didn't) It's been a nightmare. I've been going back and forth with these people for a week and I don't know what to believe anymore. I truly wanted to believe they were being honest when they said it was a mistake and a misunderstanding between the staff, but my credit card company seems to think otherwise. And based on these reviews, I'm thinking I agree. Please don't stay here and risk putting yourself through this. I've done nothing to deserve this and people need to be aware. read more

I have never written a bad review, but here it is. This was by far the most false advertised most uncomfortable experience I have ever had at a hotel. I'm not for the glitz and glam but feeling UNSAFE as you are walking to and from your car or even when you are in your room is not okay. First of all I do not have a smoke detector in my room it has been removed and all there is the base. When I waked out of my room this morning to get the continental breakfast which apparently they don't have (even though it was offered to me when I booked over the phone one day prior) there was a person pacing outside of my door. When I went to the front desk to ask where breakfast was I was told they do not offer breakfast. I explained to the person that it is stated on their website and that I was told on the phone there was breakfast. He said sorry we don't offer breakfast. I walk back to the room and the person was still standing in front of my door. It seems as though people may reside at this hotel permanently as there are coolers and bbqs and other personal items outside of the rooms. I have never felt so unsafe and unhappy with a stay. Again I am not one for the glitz and glam I always choose the dated bed and breakfast over a hotel any day. I have never been so uncomfortable or unhappy with a stay ever. read more

Omgness what a place! We had to stay here cause we didn't plan in advance with airbnb and all these deals were gone. We had to stay in a hotel for the wknd. The rate for August was $425/night. It used to be a motel and it still. The place is ran down, the rooms are damp and smell funny. A local taxi driver told us that they also sell the rooms by four hour blocks at night. I'm not sure how true this is but the place was jammed at night. There was also a yucky vomit in the hallway that night... poor housekeeper! At the check in we were greeted by two men who were foreign... they proceeded talking to each other in their language. I always find it rude and I am a foreigner myself! The rooms didn't even have a Do not Disturb sign. I definitely didn't feel secure leaving any valuables there and didn't want any housekeeping personal in the room without me being there. There is a $10 charge if you lose your room card and you have to ask for the second one. I would not have an issue with this place at all if it cost $100/night. My steaming comes from the feeling of being robbed or taken advantage of because it cost $425. I only gave a second start because the room was rather big. read more

The place itself is an old partly refurbished motel on the highway far away from the city center. I would not complain if it was 80$ per night, but what they charge here is an outrage. Had our wedding hotel block at The Atlantic last weekend. Love the renovations to each room, i love the attention to detail. The staff was accommodating although sometimes hard to get in touch with the group coordinator. They worked with us to provide access to the breakfast room for our private after party. Avoid this place it is not secure. I checked out of this place and someone come in my room and smoked in it. My card was unauthorized a smoking fee (which I don't smoke) and I had to dispute with my bank. The manager Jack, hung up in my face, and ultimately could not provide proof of smoking damage. This hotel values money over hospitality. I've stayed at this hotel plenty of times. I've spent THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS and have never had a problem such as this. I have been accused of illegal activities and unspeakable things I am APPALLED. There are other alternatives in the area that are more reasonable with price and value hospitality. They have illegal immigrants living on premises as well this place gives a black eye to the beautiful Hamptons. read more

My friends and I expected to stay in a room with two beds, but upon arrival we quickly discovered that there was only one bed and the other "bed" was a broke pull out couch that we could not sleep in. We thought we were being accomodated and given a complimentary room for the next two nights (we had to switch rooms two times), however, Dia, the manager charged us without notification for the additional room that was supposed to be complimentary. Shane at the front desk was exceptionally sweet and inviting. Helped us out in a last minute jam and even hooked us up with a discount! Even when we checked out the lady at the front was super sweet and helpful. It means a lot and goes a long way when you go above and beyond for guests. I've worked in the hospitality industry for over 20 yrs- I was concerned with booking in the Hamptons and getting an uptight snotty attitude (from what I was warned about) but this staff was so sweet and inviting! Great find. The staff was always friendly and as accomodating as they could be. They are moderately priced on weekdays. Weekends cost more. Clean rooms but carpets were pretty stained up. Very comfortable beds and good beddingband pillows. We styed in their two bedroom "suite" its basically two rooms and one queen bed and the other has one full. I would think two double beds in the other room would make more sense. Nothing more special than the other rooms so I wouldn't call it a suite. Great thing is no one is really here during the week so we were the only ones at the pool. read more

Major major hassles and an incredibly rude front desk receptionist. I booked two rooms through hotels.com. The hotel said they didn't have the second reservation and put us in one of the rooms we had and a really inferior room. It was smaller, reeked of smoke and had cigarette ash on the toilet seat. I requested a new room and suddenly another room of the size I had paid for was available. Later, I got a call when out at dinner that they had only been paid for one room and would be charging me for the second (Hotels.com had already charged me for both). I was told I would have to go to hotels.com and ask for my money back and that they would be charging me for the second room again. I showed the proof of the charge to the front desk receptionist, who proceeded to yell at me. I called hotels.com and they called The Atlantic and had it worked out in five minutes. I will use hotels.com again. I'll never stay at The Atlantic again. They haven't got the slightest idea of what hospitality means. read more

BETTER OFF SLEEPING IN YOUR CAR!!! If Zero stars were an option I would have chose it. But 1 star goes to the staff. I stayed at the Bentley hotel. (Room #14) But you have to check in at the Atlantic Hotel which is about half a mile down the street from the Bentley. I read about this style of checking in on a review but thought I would be staying at the Atlantic not the Bentley. Anyway, the staff at the front desk of the Atlantic were nice and welcoming. I received brief/vague instructions on how to get to the Bentley hotel from there. Not very clear but I managed to figure it out. Got to the motel and parked my car. Then, proceeded to go and check out my King size bed room! Motel style set up, I did not feel a sense of a warm and welcoming vibe upon entering the vestibule to get to my room. The hallway light did not work which made that long hallway leading to the room a bit unsettling and a great location for someone to hide out in or to get out of the cold. The room had an open flow layout which was nice. Had a breakfast bar, balcony, pull out couch, two severely old tv's that made that ringing noise once turned on (one in the bed room and one in the living room). Had your essentials - fridge, sink and microwave. BUT overall seriously dated and old and I couldn't shake this horrible overwhelming feeling of how creepy the room felt. I couldn't sleep all night, the room smelled awful, I developed a sinus infection from the stench. Must be mold or mildew possibly in the carpeting???. Paint chipping all over the wall. Black scuff marks on the wall and stains in the carpet. The windows in the bedroom could not even open. The only air I was able to get was from the air conditioning/heating unit and the huge balcony door. A piece of window molding was used to lodge the balcony door shut since it did not have a locking mechanism (possible broke off??) 0_0. Couldn't even slide open the blinds to get to the balcony door as the stick mechanism used to slide the blinds open broke off and was left leaning up against the wall.... Moving on- There was a huge hole created behind the door of the bathroom that looks like someone kicked the door open so hard that the doorknob made a bash in the wall. The room felt so uninviting I didn't even want to take my shoes, jacket or purse off and the entire area looked ABANDONED. I felt like I was in a scene of a horror movie. Only got about 2 hrs sleep since, I pretty much slept with one eye open all night and the lights on. In the end I couldn't take it anymore, I did not feel safe in the room and couldn't bare to be in there one second more. I checked out at about 5:30 am - 6:00 in the morning just to fill my FLIGHT response to get out of there!!! I believe sleeping in my own car would have been a safer and better choice. This hotel needs SERIOUS renovations and care. Very far from QUALITY. Will NOT be staying here again. read more

Won't be staying here again... my b/f and I spent a night out east for an anniversary and were uncomfortable... the carpet of our room was COVERED with stains, the furniture had cheap sheet slip covers where the stains on the furniture still showed... there was a decent-sized cobweb that you could tell had been forming for months and the BATHROOM HAD ANTS. We told the young girl at the front desk and she laughed and said "it's the season." I'm no hotel snob, I could not be more easy-going but I don't care what the season is, that is unacceptable. We didn't pay to vacation with ants. I was relieved when we left. Very disappointed. The pictures looked nice on the website but as they say, sometimes looks can be deceiving... read more
