What a disappointment. We came there for Thanksgiving dinner after not getting reservations elsewhere. My main complaint was the food but the staff there where also subpar. We were a bit early for the reservation but the Hostess kindly said who are you get your table right now. So she brings it to this small round table that could probably sit comfortably two people maybe three if they squeezed we were a party of five. I declined this table as it would be uncomfortable to eat Thanksgiving dinner onto tiny little table and the The hostess then said oh I got you this table because you where early. She didn't tell us had a nice table with enough room but it was a hallway on the way to the bathroom which by the way had no lock on it and very confusing. Every time someone of a walk to the bathroom the whole floor would vibrate while you were eating dinner. The main issue is they served us a soup which was very good followed by oyster which were the smallest tiniest thing I've ever had. Danny the main entrée it's up the turkey was tender and moist and good but the stuffing was basic stove top stuffing. The cranberries tasted like they're straight out of the can. They charge $16 for cocktails and it came in a very tiny wine glass. They were kind enough to send it back when he didn't taste very good. I ended up getting wine which was good at $16 a glass. Why the one star? Basically I felt very ripped off. The bill for my daughter a 5 year old was $46 for 2 very basic dishes and ice cream. The stove top stuffing was insulting. The food was typical of a high school cafeteria (except the turkey which was good). They have some nerve passing them selves off as a nice restraint charging supper high rates for this mediocre food! The staff overall was very disorganized and I can give examples but will pass. I knew how much the mean would cost going in and have no problem paying for it but I expect good food and service. It's like paying for a new BMW and they deliver a Cheap 10year old Toyota.

From the moment we arrived at the Maidstone until we left, it was a magical experience. Kyle greeted us for a seamless check in. This was our first holiday as a couple and it was perfect. The location on Main St is convenient and short drives to Montauk, Sag Harbor and Southampton. We sat by the fire and were just in the moment. I didn't even care what the wifi password was. Never checked! Breakfast was tasty and hit the spot. The staff is warm and very helpful offering suggestions for trips and restaurants. This is now our new holiday tradition!

Only had cocktails but they were fabulous. Yummy cucumber martinis and loved my sidecar. Delicious bread and peppered butter. Great ambience and service.

We came here to celebrate my birthday. My boyfriend picks the place and the room, everything is lovely from the warm welcome at the check in to the welcome drink by the fireplace. The room is not spacious but sweetly decorated, boutique feeling all around, simple but unique. The breakfast in the morning is good, not many options, but everything is top quality and the breakfast room is bright and quiet. At this point you'll wonder why the three stars... well we had an awful night, that's why! We went to bed quite early, around 10.30pm, and we weren't able to sleep till half past 1!!! Our neighbors, room 10 and 11, stayed up for three hours knocking on doors, slamming them, talking loudly in the hall way and calling each others out on the stairs! We tried a couple of times to ask them to be quiet but no way they'd listen. Unacceptable behavior from them and honestly also from the hotel: in a place like this I would expect a bit of monitoring here and there. On top of this the property is well maintained but it is old and it is definitely not soundproof! Imagine what a pleasant night... So all in all I was really happy to spend sometimes in this charming hotel but I don't think I'll be back, if there is one thing a hotel should guarantee is that you sleep safe and sound and unfortunately this is not the case!

This is literally one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at! When we walked into the room we were aStounded by the claw foot tub and the gorgeous bedroom. The staff was fantastic and the area couldn't have been more bucolic. Furthermore, the restaurant was amazing and I couldn't have enough of the popovers!

Our accommodation was situated on the third floor, which was ideal, featuring a king-sized bed, a television, and a bathroom equipped with a spacious soaking tub. Each morning, we enjoyed a complimentary breakfast that included eggs, yogurt, fruit, pancakes, coffee, tea, and more. This meal was available in a cozy dining area or could be served in our room. Additionally, there is a small snack area accessible throughout the day. The Inn itself exudes the charm of a bygone era and is well-maintained. The staff consistently demonstrated friendliness and attentiveness. The Inn is conveniently positioned within walking distance to downtown and other attractions. Overall, it was a delightful stay.

The rooms have iPod docks with 30-pin connectors. I mean at this point just remove them if you aren't going to replace them guys - they haven't worked with any iPhone since 2012. 3. A woman who fell squarely into the "surprised and afraid to find herself in charge of a hotel" category was incredibly rude to my wife when we were working from the room (as we had been told we could) the day we needed to inexplicably vacate it for a different room. "My husband is showering, we need 15 minutes." "You can't have 15 minutes." Like, what are you going to do? Forcibly remove us from the room? You guys were the ones who told us we could use the room. 4. I should also note that the rooms were LITERALLY RIGHT NEXT DOOR TO EACH OTHER and to my eye completely identical. (The one we moved to had a small balcony but otherwise I didn't detect any material difference.) It doesn't seem like an insurmountable puzzle to solve that you could have just put the other people into the vacant room. 5. They decided for some reason to empty the hotel's septic tank during our friends' wedding photos. 6. It's one of those places where a hopeless fussy person has laminated lots of signs with rules and instructions. Do NOT remove the laminated guide to the room from the room itself. Do NOT use any towel other than the blue ones for removing makeup. Do NOT flush anything other than toilet paper because the house has EXTREMELY sensitive plumbing. It all seems like someone very, very angry runs the place. (Is there a significant problem with guests removing the laminated guide from the room?) One star for a good location and another star for a pretty good breakfast (you are entitled to ONE cooked item, per the rules).

We stayed two nights in a dog friendly room, which was spacious and clean - no previous smell of a dog at all! They had a dog bed and treats with bowls waiting for her. It was so cute! We visited the restaurant and our food was great. Service was quick and helpful with the menu as well. They had the fire place on which was so nice. We went to the bar/lounge afterwards and had a few drinks by that fireplace. So nice and relaxing. Staff was always welcoming and all drinks and food were good. Room was clean, spacious and comfortable. That's all you can ask for! My only complaint was when we were checking out I wanted to make sure our bill was correct and wanted to speak with someone. With Sunday brunch going on upstairs there was no one at the front desk for almost 15 minutes. During the time I was waiting two other people came behind me to wait as well. The front desk person who came back was quick and friendly to get us checked out but for the price I would think someone would be there at all times? We can't wait to come back to Barons Cove soon!!

Room to Improve: 1) Inflexible 4:00PM check-in. They emailed to ask when we'd arrive beforehand; I said 2:00 and would appreciate an early check-in, they said to wait and will text me when room was ready. Actually we had to wait outside in the heat or in the crowded lounge until 4:30PM, no early check-ins for anyone (there were other guests waiting with us). We would have walked into town for lunch had we known this. 2) Free coffee but no included food for breakfast, which is only served in their upstairs restaurant at extra charge. At BC's price point they could have offered a few complementary pastries, as is done at many cheaper venues. 3) The a/c in our room was old, noisy, had no remote and didn't work well. Musty smell in room. 4) Lunch served outside only in all kinds of weather, insufficient umbrellas to provide shade on hot day. (Pls see separate review for their restaurant). All in all our stay at Barons Cove was pretty good, but felt their oldish amenities didn't warrant high room rates plus puzzling "resort fees."
