The Hedges is completely charming and quaint. The staff is very friendly. The common areas and rooms are immaculately clean. The rooms are pretty simple and the room I had was small, but it was very comfortable and the bathroom was nice. The breakfast is really creative and flavorful each day. My only complaint is that it should be served just a little later. I was coming from the West Coast and breakfast from 8-9:30 for me is really 5-6:30am so I was groggy and had to drag myself down there. I get that it's a small business and they can't offer it all day but even an extra hour would be really helpful. Overall, I would stay here again. I felt at home.

This is an excellent place to stay. I especially love its location. You will find it convenient to all the restaurants, galleries, shops, etc... and within walking distance of the best beach in the Hamptons. The buffet breakfast has amazing muffins, fresh fruits, great coffee and is located in the lovely dining room on the first floor - previously The James Lane Cafe. Or you can eat outside around the beautiful gardens. FYI: Cable flat screen TV, WiFi, comfortable beds, and that good old fashioned "you are home" feeling as well as a great staff who will tend to you in "lap of luxury" style.

Jenn and her husband were amazing hosts. Great honor bar, amazing food, nice rooms and amazing showers. The inn has everything from towels to bikes. This is a must stay! Beach is nearby and the grounds are so nice.

    The amazing coffee!

We had the pleasure of staying at the inn last week and I will say that it was the best breakfast I've had. The 3 course meal of figs, Parmesan eggs and waffles wears phenomenal. I loved the assortment of fruits, granola, muffins and the fresh OJ was amazing. Ann orders coffee from Starbucks but I promise you that it was the freshest coffee I've ever had. Overall, the stay was wonderful and the meal was incredible. Highly recommend the inn for your East Hampton trip. Breakfast is complimentary and will be one of the best meals you've ever had. The kitchen staff is graceful and super helpful. You won't regret your stay.

The hotel was amazing everything was beautiful spectacular that's the entrance way to the bar

Our accommodation was situated on the third floor, which was ideal, featuring a king-sized bed, a television, and a bathroom equipped with a spacious soaking tub. Each morning, we enjoyed a complimentary breakfast that included eggs, yogurt, fruit, pancakes, coffee, tea, and more. This meal was available in a cozy dining area or could be served in our room. Additionally, there is a small snack area accessible throughout the day. The Inn itself exudes the charm of a bygone era and is well-maintained. The staff consistently demonstrated friendliness and attentiveness. The Inn is conveniently positioned within walking distance to downtown and other attractions. Overall, it was a delightful stay.

The rooms have iPod docks with 30-pin connectors. I mean at this point just remove them if you aren't going to replace them guys - they haven't worked with any iPhone since 2012. 3. A woman who fell squarely into the "surprised and afraid to find herself in charge of a hotel" category was incredibly rude to my wife when we were working from the room (as we had been told we could) the day we needed to inexplicably vacate it for a different room. "My husband is showering, we need 15 minutes." "You can't have 15 minutes." Like, what are you going to do? Forcibly remove us from the room? You guys were the ones who told us we could use the room. 4. I should also note that the rooms were LITERALLY RIGHT NEXT DOOR TO EACH OTHER and to my eye completely identical. (The one we moved to had a small balcony but otherwise I didn't detect any material difference.) It doesn't seem like an insurmountable puzzle to solve that you could have just put the other people into the vacant room. 5. They decided for some reason to empty the hotel's septic tank during our friends' wedding photos. 6. It's one of those places where a hopeless fussy person has laminated lots of signs with rules and instructions. Do NOT remove the laminated guide to the room from the room itself. Do NOT use any towel other than the blue ones for removing makeup. Do NOT flush anything other than toilet paper because the house has EXTREMELY sensitive plumbing. It all seems like someone very, very angry runs the place. (Is there a significant problem with guests removing the laminated guide from the room?) One star for a good location and another star for a pretty good breakfast (you are entitled to ONE cooked item, per the rules).

We stayed two nights in a dog friendly room, which was spacious and clean - no previous smell of a dog at all! They had a dog bed and treats with bowls waiting for her. It was so cute! We visited the restaurant and our food was great. Service was quick and helpful with the menu as well. They had the fire place on which was so nice. We went to the bar/lounge afterwards and had a few drinks by that fireplace. So nice and relaxing. Staff was always welcoming and all drinks and food were good. Room was clean, spacious and comfortable. That's all you can ask for! My only complaint was when we were checking out I wanted to make sure our bill was correct and wanted to speak with someone. With Sunday brunch going on upstairs there was no one at the front desk for almost 15 minutes. During the time I was waiting two other people came behind me to wait as well. The front desk person who came back was quick and friendly to get us checked out but for the price I would think someone would be there at all times? We can't wait to come back to Barons Cove soon!!

Room to Improve: 1) Inflexible 4:00PM check-in. They emailed to ask when we'd arrive beforehand; I said 2:00 and would appreciate an early check-in, they said to wait and will text me when room was ready. Actually we had to wait outside in the heat or in the crowded lounge until 4:30PM, no early check-ins for anyone (there were other guests waiting with us). We would have walked into town for lunch had we known this. 2) Free coffee but no included food for breakfast, which is only served in their upstairs restaurant at extra charge. At BC's price point they could have offered a few complementary pastries, as is done at many cheaper venues. 3) The a/c in our room was old, noisy, had no remote and didn't work well. Musty smell in room. 4) Lunch served outside only in all kinds of weather, insufficient umbrellas to provide shade on hot day. (Pls see separate review for their restaurant). All in all our stay at Barons Cove was pretty good, but felt their oldish amenities didn't warrant high room rates plus puzzling "resort fees."
