I believe this hotel is normally $450 a night. But due to plummeting hotel rates because of the pandemic, this hotel rents for $150 a night now. I really feel like this place is all about the small touches. Mineral baths, closets that air out, extra pillows and blankets for the cozy types like me, and a TV that is NOT wall-mounted so us millennials can bring our Amazon fire stick to watch our shows. Southampton is all about shopping and spending on food, But it isnt particularly impressive to me regarding their food selection. Still, I enjoyed my getaway. Walls can be a little thin in this hotel, so I changed rooms so that I wouldn't have any neighbors.

The location of the Southampton Inn is very convenient for walking to town and they have a shuttle to the beach which we did not use because we were in town for a wedding, but is an added plus. As others have noted, the Inn, while well kept up, is more of an upscale motel. The rooms are not soundproofed, so you are sometimes able to hear what your neighbors are doing. :-) The beds were comfortable and while a bit dated, the rooms are spacious. Everyone working there whom we encountered was friendly and helpful. They have a nice pool and with a reasonably priced onsite restaurant, but a shuttle service to the Jitney and train for confirmed guests would be a nice thing to add. There is a 2-night minimum, so be prepared to shell out over a grand if staying over during a weekend!

This is a review for their restaurant only -- Southampton inn restaurant has delicious food at a reasonable price for the Hamptons. I actually came here for a promotional event for a fitness app but I ordered lunch at the hotel and I don't regret it! I got the "not so humble hamburger" which comes with applewood smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato, and three ingredients of your choice. I chose a fried egg, guacamole, and sautéed onions and my burger came out excellent. It was cooked to a perfect medium rare exactly as I asked. The guacamole was classic, well seasoned, and complimented the burger nicely. It was also a big burger (maybe around 10oz) and I was perfectly full afterward. The burger came with thick cut, well seasoned fries that were just to my liking. My friend got the veggie sandwich with the corn salsa as a side. It came jam-packed with fresh-grilled veggies including zucchini, summer squash, tomatoes, and eggplant. It's also slathered in a delicious garlic herb aioli that really ties the dish together. The corn salsa was crisp, sweet, and light; a perfect accompaniment to this sandwich.

I definitely didn't have the terrible experience here the other Yelpers did, but it didn't blow me away either. There was some good points and some things I would have appreciated if they were a smidgen more accommodating. As my Christmas gift, my fiancé gave me a weekend in the Hamptons, with accommodations for two nights at the South Hampton Inn. He purchased a gift certificate from them and they mailed it. So know, that they 1) sell gift certificates and 2) will mail it. He booked the July weekend shortly after and that is the time you need to book these places. They can and do sell out. This place is crazy expensive for what it is $500/night plus taxes and fees. Although, it is par for the course out East. What do you expect to pay? But you're not getting lavish accommodations. It's essential a well kept motel, I'm not sure I saw an elevator. It was pretty clean and we honestly only used it to sleep, so it met our needs, $1100 later on Sunday afternoon. While we were there, this hotel was quiet, despite a bachelorette party going on. The main great thing is they have a free shuttle to the beach. Otherwise, beach parking is $40. It's also walking distance to the town, but it's a 15 minute walk. Nothing for NYC residents but some may complain about that. They also have free parking, as most non-urban hotels do. I would have liked at least morning coffee in the lobby. The price here is nuts, they should put out free coffee in the lobby. The linens are paper thin. The room was fine, but not big or modern. I appreciated that there was a fridge in the room. Since there are not an abundance of hotels in South Hampton, compounded with the overall Hamptons luxury, they can and will charge what ever they want. So don't expect a bargain but it's not a terrible experience.

Ok, so to be fair although I have stayed here on numerous occasions, all of them have been when my bill is being picked up by my employer. Had I been shelling out 300+ of my own hard earned dollars to stay here, I probably would have given the place 2 stars at best. The extra star and relative positive feeling I have about the place are primarily due to the location, it's right in town and makes it easy to walk out for dinner, or even to the beach, Publick House or train station. Shuttle to the beach is cool, although I have never tried it. Also the rooms are clean, fairly tastefully and modernly designed and feature comfortable beds. Pleasant back courtyard area. On the downside the staff, who were competent and reasonably friendly on my most recent visit, I had found to be slightly rude on previous stays. The high price point should certainly warrant some more frills. The in room Wifi has been very spotty on every occasion I have stayed here, which was particularly irritating to me as a business traveler, which I think many of the other guests, particularly in the off season, often are. The lack of any type of gym facility isn't helped much by the offer to get a meagerly discounted rate of $25 a day offered for a gym down the block. Nevertheless, this is always my go to spot I request when I am sent to Southampton.

Great experience. Staff and resident cat are pretty amazing. Good food and drinks by the pool. Easily able to social distance. Complimentary coffee at Claude's. Heated pool. Bartender Jared was awesome. My best friend and I shared the lobster roll for lunch and it was really good. Great quickie getaway with girlfriends. There's a shuttle to the beach and beach cruisers you can rent. So many restaurants in walking distance. Can't wait to go back.

We had reservations at the Southampton Inn for Sunday night through Thursday, 5 nights, celebrating our 55th wedding anniversary. We missed Sunday because of hurricane Henri and were told that no refund would be made but that a credit would be provided against amenities. Having no choice, we agreed. The room we were put in had a very noisy wall AC unit which we put up with but the next morning we were awakened to a loud noise and continuous roaring throughout the day which as it turned out was a huge AC unit for the basement restaurant mounted under our front window. The noise was so loud that we requested a room change. No help was offered for moving and the cleaning staff actually told us to hurry up as they were going to be leaving. Considering we are seniors, that was a bit off-putting. The new room was much better but the door didn't fit the frame and couldn't be easily opened, especially from the inside. My wife actually couldn't get the door open by herself. The hotel manager came to the room for a different issue, also had trouble getting the door open but never did or said anything about it. No WIFI because of the storm and the cable went completely out the second night. And, one of the reasons we went there was the in-house restaurant since we had a dog and eating out with one can be problematic. We were informed by the restaurant staff, not the hotel, that for the season the restaurant was not open for dinner due to lack of help. This "Inn" is showing it's age, the above problems, cement crumbling, sidewalks uneven, bushes very much overgrown. The in-room refrigerator in the first room didn't work and had to be replaced. The original room had large gaps around the door where it was missing weather-stripping. I sure wouldn't want to be there in the winter. We finally gave it up as a bad job and left to go home on Wednesday, having stayed only 2 of the 5 nights. Originally we paid a substantial down payment on our credit card and to our surprise were charged additional "deposits" on our card without asking though they did email us after the fact. A refund of the two nights we didn't stay was made so at least we had that. I could not ever recommend staying at the Southampton Inn which was billed as the second best hotel in Southampton.

Tax issues on both receipts.

3.5 stars. My…read moregirlfriends and I stayed here 6/29 - 7/3/20 post COVID, right before 4th of July weekend. This hotel was the best option in terms of budget and needs for our group. I was a bit apprehensive about staying here, as most of the reviews for this place were quite negative, but I did take them into consideration, and I do also want to form my own opinion as I always find positives when I go somewhere. Communication was great before the trip. They quickly answered any questions that I had prior to going. The hotel is located on a highway, turning into the driveway wasn't an issue, but making that left heading out east could be tricky during high traffic hours! The grounds are lovely, the white lobby building stands out amongst the greenery. They offer a self-check in kiosk, though there was a front desk attendant to help us and eventually give us keys. We arrived around 12, and were informed that our room wouldn't be ready until after 3PM. Kimberly offered us drink tickets while we laid out by the pool. This is a small hotel, with double beds or a king size bed rooms surrounding the pool area. There's a bar and restaurant to the left of the pool. I believe that the suites are located on the other side opposite the bedrooms. The bathing club was my favorite part of the hotel. The beds were comfy and the umbrellas were useful. We were able to get pool towels the first day, but none were available the next day. I definitely suggest bringing your own towel, especially if you head to the beach while you're here. It does come in handy. They do offer poolside service. You can order food or drinks from Naia, their new restaurant. Though the food is good, it's overpriced for what you get. Same goes for the drinks, overpriced. Luckily we received drink tickets since our room wasn't ready until after 3PM. That was a nice touch. I ordered the watermelon skewers. Very refreshing and simple. Room was big enough for our party of 4 girls. The fridge is perfect for storing your drinks or snacks. They have an awesome mini bar selection, again overpriced, but a nice touch if you're not prepared. The bathroom is small and we had to ask several times for towels! There was only 1 full set! I used a hand towel to dry myself off the first night, LOL. Don't open the window to vent out the moisture. A bunch of ants came marching in! Oops! The beds and pillow weren't comfortable at all. You only got one pillow (per person) and it was soft and thin. I suppose it could be worse. The black out shade on the windows were helpful. Definitely bring an eye mask and ear plugs if you want to sleep in. Now, for the music. Yes, it's true. They play loud music during the evening hours, right outside your hotel room. Monday and Tuesday night, the music ended right before 11PM, but Wednesday night's music ended at 12AM. The A/C drowns out some of it, but you can hear the bass. What's funny is that the bar/restaurant only had about 3 people in it! They do have smaller speakers in the bar area only, instead of using the "surround speakers" around the pool and courtyard area. I would suggest doing that during the later hours of the evening so people can rest peacefully! Free breakfast was great! Be sure to email them before 9PM so your order will arrive on time. You get a choice of a bacon (or no bacon) egg & cheese croissant, Nutella croissant, or parfait + coffee, tea, orange juice. They were able to do an egg and cheese croissant for me which I appreciated. Overall, a good stay. Some parts are not as glamorous as their Instagram feed, but it's not as bad as some of the reviews below. Just come prepared and make the best of it!

The Bridgehampton Inn is beautiful and historic -- feels like you're stepping back in time without it feeling modern or outdated. We were seated near the fireplace which was appreciated since it was such a cold day. I loved the artwork and modern touches, like the fun orange-swirled water glasses. We were lucky enough to come during Restaurant Week, so we had the opportunity to sample a bit of everything on the menu. We kicked things off with the tuna tartare, topped with wasabi caviar and crispy potatoes that were the perfect vessel for devouring this dish. We also got the seared foie gras on top of prosciutto, which was decadent and well balanced with the fig preserves. We also tried the escargot which was a standout -- soft and delicious, topped with garlic and parsley and served with fresh bread. For entrees, we had the local flounder with spinach and cauliflower puree which was fresh and delicious. The Berkshire pork guanciale was rich and tender, paired with freshly sauteed vegetables. The wagyu short ribs were the stand out for me -- served with crispy brussels sprouts and truffle mashed potatoes. Dessert was also out of this world. The hazelnut panna cotta had so much flavor that it won over my mom - a lifelong panna cotta hater. The Basque cheesecake was made perfectly, the right balance of cheesy and sweet. The strawberries with mascarpone cream were fresh with just the right berry to cream ratio. I literally dream about this dinner, and hope to return the next time I'm in the area.
