This location is a great find in Sag Harbor if you don't want to rent a house for some ridiculous price.

We stayed two nights in a dog friendly room, which was spacious and clean - no previous smell of a dog at all! They had a dog bed and treats with bowls waiting for her. It was so cute! We visited the restaurant and our food was great. Service was quick and helpful with the menu as well. They had the fire place on which was so nice. We went to the bar/lounge afterwards and had a few drinks by that fireplace. So nice and relaxing. Staff was always welcoming and all drinks and food were good. Room was clean, spacious and comfortable. That's all you can ask for! My only complaint was when we were checking out I wanted to make sure our bill was correct and wanted to speak with someone. With Sunday brunch going on upstairs there was no one at the front desk for almost 15 minutes. During the time I was waiting two other people came behind me to wait as well. The front desk person who came back was quick and friendly to get us checked out but for the price I would think someone would be there at all times? We can't wait to come back to Barons Cove soon!!

Room to Improve: 1) Inflexible 4:00PM check-in. They emailed to ask when we'd arrive beforehand; I said 2:00 and would appreciate an early check-in, they said to wait and will text me when room was ready. Actually we had to wait outside in the heat or in the crowded lounge until 4:30PM, no early check-ins for anyone (there were other guests waiting with us). We would have walked into town for lunch had we known this. 2) Free coffee but no included food for breakfast, which is only served in their upstairs restaurant at extra charge. At BC's price point they could have offered a few complementary pastries, as is done at many cheaper venues. 3) The a/c in our room was old, noisy, had no remote and didn't work well. Musty smell in room. 4) Lunch served outside only in all kinds of weather, insufficient umbrellas to provide shade on hot day. (Pls see separate review for their restaurant). All in all our stay at Barons Cove was pretty good, but felt their oldish amenities didn't warrant high room rates plus puzzling "resort fees."

I had planned to book a one-week vacation at this establishment for my family, but after a recent…read morephone call, I've decided to take our plans elsewhere. A family member has a medical condition that requires a specific type of mattress, so I called to ask a simple question about what kind of mattresses they offer. I was connected with a woman named Beth, who was shockingly rude and unprofessional. When I began explaining the situation, she literally said, "I don't have time for this," and then followed it with, "Are you making a reservation or not?" I was stunned. We were ready to spend a week here, but after being treated like an inconvenience for asking a basic, medically necessary question, there's no way I'd trust our family vacation to this place. I'm genuinely at a loss for words at how poorly I was treated. Also, I might like to add it takes a lot for me to leave a negative review. I think I've only ever left one other negative review on my account. Trying to support small local business has always been a priority of mine and I understand people have good days and bad days so I don't usually take two social media to post a negative review but this was over the top nasty. I felt I needed to do so. Not to mention, I took a screenshot. The phone call was only one minute, so the fact that she became so nasty and saying she shouldn't have time for this I'm flabbergasted.

The Bridgehampton Inn is beautiful and historic -- feels like you're stepping back in time without it feeling modern or outdated. We were seated near the fireplace which was appreciated since it was such a cold day. I loved the artwork and modern touches, like the fun orange-swirled water glasses. We were lucky enough to come during Restaurant Week, so we had the opportunity to sample a bit of everything on the menu. We kicked things off with the tuna tartare, topped with wasabi caviar and crispy potatoes that were the perfect vessel for devouring this dish. We also got the seared foie gras on top of prosciutto, which was decadent and well balanced with the fig preserves. We also tried the escargot which was a standout -- soft and delicious, topped with garlic and parsley and served with fresh bread. For entrees, we had the local flounder with spinach and cauliflower puree which was fresh and delicious. The Berkshire pork guanciale was rich and tender, paired with freshly sauteed vegetables. The wagyu short ribs were the stand out for me -- served with crispy brussels sprouts and truffle mashed potatoes. Dessert was also out of this world. The hazelnut panna cotta had so much flavor that it won over my mom - a lifelong panna cotta hater. The Basque cheesecake was made perfectly, the right balance of cheesy and sweet. The strawberries with mascarpone cream were fresh with just the right berry to cream ratio. I literally dream about this dinner, and hope to return the next time I'm in the area.

The ambiance is charming and cozy, with that classic Hamptons elegance that makes you want to linger over dessert. We were honestly surprised that we haven't been here all these years--it's truly a gem that deserves all the praise it gets. The only small downside was the maitre d', who came across a bit less welcoming than the rest of the team. Thankfully, the rest of the staff more than made up for it with their friendliness and professionalism. Overall, we loved our evening and can't wait to return!

The reason for 4 stars instead of 5, is that this summer (we went three times), I was very disappointed with the burger. I've been eating their burger for 20 years, and this summer I was very disappointed when I tried to order it medium and the server said it was a "smash burger." Well, that wasn't the disappointing part. The disappointing part was that when the burger came, it was NOT a smash burger. It was just a small patty, overcooked, and smaller than the bun (which was awful). However, the scallop crudo, the pasta, and the other fish dishes are great. The drinks are good (well a bit expensive for drinks made in batches, but at least they come out quickly), and the vibe is to die for. Hopefully next summer, they bump the price of the burger by $5 and bring it back to a proper burger. Instead of the rubbery overcooked "smash burger" that wasn't.
