Stayed at the Hamlet Inn April 29th-May 1st. The receptionist is really concerned with covid that she will not come near you. The first night we to the front office about some ants we seen was told someone would come spray no one ever came. I asked for some towels at 1:30pm and was told they would be in a bag outside of the room came back at 9:00PM and we had no towels called the desk number and was told we should have called before 9pm and they had already left and it would be an hour before they could get back to get us some towels. We wake up in the morning our room was infested with ants and when we told the manager Denice all she said was the next time we book with them to mention her name for a discount was not offered any compensation we had ants in our room. We should've been refunded something. read more

I spent a Saturday night here recently and had the best time. The moment we walked into the office to check in, Denise went above and beyond to give my SO and I suggestions on what to see and where to eat. I mean, she explained the area so well that I refuse to throw my map out with all her printed suggestions of the best local restaurants. We entered the room and it was impeccable. It was cozy and well-lit, the bathroom looked very new and was well stocked. We connected to the wifi and had no issues with it, or the TV. While our stay was brief, I loved the atmosphere and the quiet. I came in the spring so the pool was covered, but I imagine it's a hit with guests in the summer. The temperature in the room was comfortable so we did not need the AC nor the heater. The office was stocked with Keurig cups, water, ice, and oatmeal. In the morning it was great to have some coffee, tea, and oatmeal to start off the day. I look forward to coming back once the summer rush is gone but definitely recommend this inn to all. read more

Great location and normal price for high Season in Summer. There is a small fee I asked about and was told all motels have that so I think it's for internet and pool towels etc. Cute little set up with pool and comfortable lounge chairs and areas to sit with a huge lawn. Beach passes are available upon request and the beach is gorgeous there. Near the best restaurants and shops and beach within 10 minutes driving plus grocery store, CVS and an Indian Reservation. Rooms are large and equipped with a coffee machine, refrigerator, microwave, blow dryer, ironing board, iron plus there is a large screen tv. There is also a couch and a nice sitting area outside the room. The bathrooms are also equipped with the necessary items. The shower head is a little weird you can't adjust it so make sure you wear your shower cap. The beds are pillowy not firm so don't be like the 3 little bears. Lots of pillows of all firmness. There are wooden blinds so the one suggestion I would make since they can be peaked in a tad bit is to add black out curtains. During Covid they are taking extra precautions but you can get whatever you need if you ask and they are at reception 9-9 pm. They also have coffee and packaged snacks in the front for breakfast. Denise the lady at the front is very nice and welcoming and gives explicit instructions on the property and is practicing social distancing and they request masks. She is also helpful with a map, directions and restaurant suggestions. The whole staff is very nice. They also have different room choices, to be noted one does have a sky light. Parking is very convenient right outside. It was very quiet I just heard someone knocking on a door but besides that it was peaceful. Yes it's the Hamptons and there are bugs mosquitoes and bees etc but you have to keep the door closed. It does smell a bit musty but all the motels in the Hamptons have that smell. I couldn't figure out how to open the windows but it probably helps to air it out and they do leave the doors open after each guest leaves. They have a wall unit that's ac and heat and I noticed a gas detector. Do try to arrive before dark because it can be difficult to see the street signs and they send you an email to go a different way than gps suggests. read more

Denise has been impossible to deal with. We were getting 2 rooms for 2 nights. We had a rain check from the previous year for one room. She cheerfully said she would honor it and had it in the system. I tried from 7/7/23 until lauriebagley2@7/28/23 with over a dozen calls and emails to finalize the transaction. She would promise she would send me the paperwork within 10 minutes, 1 hour, by end of that day, etc., but never did. Who does this? I cancelled the whole thing and would say it was the worst hotel experience I've had. read more

I've stayed here on 2 diff occasions and it was fine for what we needed..cute, beachy vibe.. quick easy check in, clean rooms, built in pool for guests.... what more do you need?... they offer up beach passes, bikes for rent, and they also give you a full page of all the restaurants which is great for those who aren't familiar with the area. I had the same room each time, 2 beds, clean, good size mini fridge with complimentary waters... of course, it's always better when you bring your own food and drink.. fridge came in handy for our arsenal of alcohol since on both occasions the main goal was to drink enough to put down a horse. Anyway, very close to the Main Street as well as cowfish and rumba which are prob everyone's go-to. They were very safe during pandemic times and enforced their rules. It's not really loud at night and there is not a dj at the pool so If you're looking for more of a vibe, hit up Capri. This is much more chill and relaxing. Would return. read more

In response to management. I did notify front desk. Floor was never cleaned. I had to get on my hands and knees and scrub myself. Was disgusting! Front desk staff was as terrible and as disgusting as floor maybe worse. No chance of a return visit. Ever. read more

Stay away from this place if you want to have a pleasant weekend gateway. The room is nasty and we got skin rashi after the night stay, I hope it was not bed bug!!! I bagged all my clothes and ran to the Laundromat before entering my house. The manager was rude and not helpful at all. You are running a hotel business and providing service not pissing people off. The price is comparable for the location but totally not worth it. I really wish I made other choices. read more

Needed a place to stay for one night while attending an event in Sag Harbor. Staff is very friendly. We had to check out at 5AM before breakfast would be open. The staff arranged for us to have access to the bagels, fruits, OJ, etc we could take back to our room for the next morning. Room was clean, quiet and comfortable. It was a cold, dark night and I simply could not get home without risking my life. So, I was so very lucky to meet Denise and secure a wonderful room and atmosphere on my way back from Montauk. Its probably a good reflection of my successful use of yelp that I seldom write negative reviews. However this is one. We were at the beach late in the day on labor day weekend and on a whim decided to stay the night (Cooper Beach is SO much nicer than Jones). Its a long drive back to Brooklyn with two kids. With limited cell reception (is that a feature or bug in the Hamptons?), we couldnt do much research. Our expectations might have been misaligned with our stay at this motel (definitely a lower case m). When we called they asked for $325 a night. We negotiated down to $250. At that price we expected something reasonably nice. The rooms are motel style running in a strip along the parking lot. They were spartan at best. A little dirty and run down. There was a musty smell in the room mixed with a dense cloud from cleaning products. The AC unit had two settings, Gale force and off. The shower tray where one puts soap was absent and only the aluminum clip that would hold the shelf was in place. The bathroom screen (pet peeve) was disgusting and hadnt been cleaned (maybe ever). When we went to checkout they tacked on a 5% "service charge" (tacky) and when we called them on it they took 20 minutes to reverse the charge. If they charged $125 a night (vacation weekend) my expectations would be aligned. read more

Don't stay here if you value your safety! I was in Southhampton for a conference, and came in a couple of days early for a mini vacation. The Hamlet Inn was close to the conference site so I booked it. And to be fair, the place is small, quiet, spotless and as a decent continental breakfast each morning. However, I was rudely awakened at midnight last night by some drunk banging on my door and screaming at me. I woke up with a start, and screamed back and went to the window and peeked out and yelled at him to go away but he kept yelling. I screamed again and he finally tottered off. This is a pretty small place over some pretty pleasant grounds, so while my brain understood it was probably just a drunk guest at the wrong door, I was terrified and found it impossible to sleep last night. This was compounded by the fact that when I called the desk, which I was assured although the office close at 11, the manager was on site and responded to all phone calls, all I got was a voice message. Granted that this was likely a drunk guest as I said, but the manager certainly could've had a better vantage point of the parking lot and the area around the rooms to make sure it wasn't somebody looking for trouble. I certainly wasn't going to open my door to find out. As a person staying by myself I found it extremely upsetting that there was no one to reach by phone, despite the managers assurances several times to guest as I was in the breakfast room or nearby that there was somebody available 24/7. I don't expect that in a quiet vacation town like Southhampton there's going to be an issue like this, and it certainly hasn't put me in the best frame of mind. read more

And safe to say you had plenty of interactions with my guests and my wedding planner, who went back and forth with you a number of times, and all of which I was kept abreast of. Awful experience since check-in. We arrived and the manager told us that we had the worst seats in the house like at Yankee stadium because our room was small. When we went to our room we noticed that there was a piece of gum on the window directly next to our bed. I called and asked if the room was cleaned prior to us checking in. The woman gave attitude and said that she didn't even remember checking someone into the room, even though it had happened moments ago. She said that she was with guests but would come right after. We waited 30 minutes but she never came so we left to our event. When we came back to our room hours later, the gum was still there!! There was a note attached to our door saying we'd be compensated $35 for the small room. I wrote back and said that the small room wasn't the problem but the cleanliness was and if we'd be compensated for that. During checkout the woman at the front desk said that there was nothing else that could be done. I would never stay at this hotel again or recommend anyone. The staff isn't attentive and the place is not clean! read more

This ridiculously priced facility charged 500 dollars for a room that would be overpriced at 100 dollar . To add salt to the wound the owners were rude and insulting. The continental breakfast was compromised by no one attending to the supply of electricity, water or juice. I seriously doubt that NYS inspections are current. I should have brought my tent with me. Pros: Very friendly and accommodating staff. Great location in Southampton - away from the nightmare that is the Hamptons traffic but close enough to the town of Southampton where the longest drive to town will be 10 minutes. Decent ambiance to the room, I believe they recently renovated. Grounds were nice. Cons: Floors in the room were a little dirty. The sand and dirt people drag in there daily has definitely accumulated. There were ants in our bathroom. Group of about 8 young gals were partying in the room next to us every night before they went out at about 11 then they would come back at 2 slamming doors etc. Conclusion: we paid about 500 a night for the room. 350 would be more appropriate, but it was a holiday weekend. Wouldn't be against recommending it to anyone. Wasn't all that bad. read more

Stayed at the Hamlet Inn for a couple of nights and was quite pleased with our stay. The Inn is a small motel on a beautiful piece of property with a swimming pool and a nice outdoor seating area. As I read through some of the Yelp reviews it occurred to me that some of the reviewers must expect a 5 star hotel in the Hamptons. This is a MOTEL in the Hamptons people and it's a great place to stay and relax. This quaint motel has very comfortable beds and updated rooms. Each room has a small sitting area just outside of each room and if I'd had more time during my stay I would've spent more time there. The room we had had an aesthetic issue with the bathroom door but it didn't keep it from working. The manager, Denise, was very helpful and spent quite some time with us making sure that we knew our way around. I would recommend this sweet little gem of a motel to anyone looking for affordable lodging in the Hamptons. read more

Stayed here the other night. Molly was very lovely and helped make our stay a pleasant one. We came in for the Hampton Classic, but will return again on our next trip. We had a corner room with a nice view of the morning deer. It's a small place and that's actually very nice. Had a small but complete continental breakfast with quaint tables to sit at. Our room was nice and clean. My only recommendation would be to remove the shampoo devices in showers. Thanks again for a nice stay. See you again for sure! read more

How in the world this place has received more than two stars is beyond me. Probably because there's not much to choose from in the way of lodging. Or these are friends of the owner. Or the travelers have never left town. However, you couldn't pay me to stay here again. Worst travel experience of my life. This hotel was booked for me, or I would've never ended up in this predicament. Here's a short list of why staying at this place feels like complete highway robbery. Broken shower knob, damp floors, musky odor, broken baseboards, crappy furniture, ancient mattresses and pillows as flat as pancakes, woke with bug bites each night, BUG CRAWLED IN MY EAR (no kidding...had to go to emergency room), missing plates on electrical outlets, horribly small bathroom with no vanity for getting dressed, loud window unit, broken blinds with very little privacy, no closet and the list goes on and on. And to add insult to injury our room at the Park Lane hotel just off 5th Avenue in NYC was cheaper than this room. It really should be illegal that the owner is getting away with this. Some people have said this place is clean. My opinion is that just because the owner wised up and decided to get white duvets and linens, doesn't make it clean. Oh and how ridiculous is it that there are only a handful of rooms, yet I had to wait every morning for the cleaning crew to wash laundry before I could get clean towels. This place could be so charming with a COMPLETE overhaul. Please don't go here so the owner is forced to do something with the $300+ per night she's getting from people. And for the record, while I've had the pleasure of staying in some fine establishments, I've also spent many a night in your standard Holiday Inn and the like. read more

We just spent a weekend out on Long Island at the Hamlet Inn and it was definitely a great trip. The Inn is small and relaxing, and the staff was more than friendly and accommodating (we went for the triathlon the day we checked out and they offered us rooms to shower in and breakfast to eat, even well after check out time). It was super. We had an extremely pleasant time at the Hampton Hamlet Inn. We stayed in two rooms , which were both great, and we stayed for a week. The atmosphere was very comfy and relaxed. The staff was very gracious, friendly, and accommodating. My children loved the pool and expansive grounds. The rooms were very clean and spacious. Bathrooms were completely renovated.
