We were disappointed that the breakfasts are no longer complimentary. Parking is good and ample. The front desk and restaurant crew were very helpful and greeted us every time. Shout out to Nancy who went the extra mile to ensure we had what we needed. The hairdryer was broken in our room and another clerk (sorry I do not recall her name) quickly went and brought us another one. The mattress seemed a little firm and was not as comfortable as other Hilton facilities, but maybe it's a sign I am getting older. We appreciated our stay but have experienced better at other Hilton facilities. This does not mean that the staff are not attentive, just a different experience for us this round. Swimming area was nice though a bit warm. Water temp was nice. Hot tub was not working very well, but they were aware and were trying to address it. Great location close to a lot of local attractions and great restaurants.

They said "we thought you already checked out." I had not and felt extremely intruded upon. I gave it a second try last weekend - never again. This time there wasn't much the staff could have done. The hallways and main corridors were super warm. The room was renovated and was clean - mostly, however, the walls were super thin. One one side a family was blasting the movie Hamilton halfway into the night while on the other side a toddler was screaming for hours. The child did not sleep until after 1AM... so neither did we. I don't blame the other guests, however, structurally I would not stay here. The doors were also thin so I knew who was running down the hall and talking at all hours. I was lucky - our room, 403, was near the end of the hallway. I can't imagine what it would have been like in front of the elevator. At breakfast the person helping us kept standing there staring at us. Each time I went back up to the buffet, I felt their eyes on me. It was quite uncomfortable. Finally, worst of all, I did not feel safe in my room. The hitch that holds the door closed was loose and I didn't trust it to keep us safe. I reported all of these concerns at checkout. I was not even thanked for letting them know, muchless had anyone apologize for the experience. This one is a nope for me.

Marriott should be ashamed of this property. We have been going here a few times a year for some…read moreten years or so, and I've come to the conclusion that I am the proverbial frog in the pot of water that is slowly brought to boiling...the hotel has been steadily going downhill, a little at a time, and I've finally realized that the gravity of it is really too much at this point. I think that part of the problem is that they have a number of long-stay residents, as I've learned from talking to fellow guests. Yes, I know that Residence Inn is generally targeted for longer hotel stays, but these are people staying months at a time for a temporary job. There is nothing inherently wrong with those types of guests, but it leads to a downgrade in level of service from that of a hotel to that of an apartment building. Also, as a pet-friendly hotel, the hotel has turned into a de facto unattended kennel during the day. While their owners are at work, or vacation travelers go to places where dogs are not welcome, the dogs are left alone in rooms all day, barking and whining...all...day...long. And once one starts, they all start. The constant din is really unbearable during the day. In the last year or so, signs have gone up around the hotel about Quiet Hours being from 10:00pm to 8:00am. The fact that the hotel management felt it necessary to put those signs up portends the type of behavior that you can expect from some of their current clientele. Garbage cans/piles sitting outside rooms will be there all day long. The walls in the hallways are all marked up. The internet was squirrelly and, according to the staff, it has been that way for over a month due to a power outage. On our most recent visit, we were in our room for less than an hour when the door pops open with another guest walking in that had been assigned the same room...assigned by the same person at the front desk that assigned us that room. When we queried the lady at the front desk about it later, she said that's been happening since the power outage a month or so ago. The lack of concern on the part of the lady at the front desk was alarming. And then when we went back to our room, our keys no longer worked. It's really a shame. It is a great location, right on the strip. Many of the staff are friendly and trying to do their jobs, and the complimentary breakfast is pretty good. However, this hotel is not operating anywhere NEAR the Marriott level, and it is damaging the Marriott brand.

Upon entering, we were greeted by a pleasant young lady and quickly checked in. We were given complimentary bottle waters and made our way to our room. One thing that has changed: the rooms are not automatically cleaned everyday, if you need towels in the interim, you can ask housecleaning or the front desk for additional ones. This location has an indoor and outdoor pool, exercise room and laundry. They provide a decent complimentary breakfast with items such as pre-made omelets, sausage, potatoes, oatmeal, cold cereal, make-your-own waffles with toppings, hard boiled eggs, assorted muffins and bread, and juice/coffee (with the later being available in the lobby 24/7). The rooms were clean and well appointed with a mini fridge, iron/board, coffee machine, bath amenities (body wash, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion). All in all, still a great place to stay when visiting the Williamsburg area.

The Manor is what I would call "modern colonial chic" so you still get the old-school feel without the antique fragileness and dead people rotting in the basement stench. Next time I am in Williamsburg; I will most definitely be staying here again. Oh and shout out to Annita who helped me book my stay, she was so patient and enthusiastic about answering all of my a trillion and one questions which made me even more hyped up beyond my usual extreme caffeine adrenaline boost. There may be a family that benefits from housekeeping that swings a door into your feet at 9am, because they are hanging off of a creaky bed, but it certainly wasn't mine. Never mind the pretentiousness of a pretend cigar lounge, meaning not one to smoke in but just an aesthetic throwback to a time when people actually enjoyed themselves at this location. Not that one would want a cigar after eating chocolate pudding that tastes like it was infused with Trix cereal or any of the other dishes who sacrifice taste for novelty. I would have at least been frightened by the Colonial Williamsburg ghost tour, but after staying at this location, I realized that even the spirits probably wouldn't stick around.
