The Arlington was such a fantastic choice for a nice date night on the island. Firstly, they have a parking lot - how fabulous. The interior is gorgeous. Beautiful fireplace and lovely decor. The staff was great and attentive. We tried a little of everything. My boyfriend is still dreaming of the blackened chicken wings. I tried the mussels as an appetizer and the sauce was to die for. I'm shocked I did didn't ask for more bread to dunk in that delectable jus. We also got the cheesesteak and the fish and chips. Both delicious fresh and the hand cut fries were a great touch. I believe the owners of this restaurant also own Daymark, which I can't wait to try as well. Loves this restaurant and can't recommend it enough.

Good food, good drinks and good service. End of the season not many people. Nice and quiet.

I have to say, this was our second time dining here and I was not impressed like I was the first time. The restaurant has been remodeled and looks great. They have plenty of seating, outdoor dining and a private parking lot which is a huge plus. The staff is friendly and do their job very well from the minute you walk in. However, the food was ok. I expected more for the price. They serve alcoholic drinks, portions were a good size, but some of the dishes were bland or had too much sauce and covered up the flavors of the meat. The winners were the chicken tortilla soup and the fried calamari.

The service was pretty rough. Our server never introduced herself and came off more like a frazzled, annoyed lunch lady--rushing around, clearly disorganized. She had us pay on a tablet at the table, which felt impersonal. We ended up tipping well out of sympathy, but honestly, it wasn't earned. That said, the food was surprisingly good for the most part. The crab cakes were excellent, and the salad was tasty, even though the feta cheese was clearly low quality. Shrimp and grits were solid, while the short rib was disappointing--not tender at all. They were out of one of the main drinks we wanted, and the fries tasted like Popeyes (not necessarily a bad thing). Despite everything, we actually had a blast.

I used to eat here once a year when I come down. I would get the duck. Yesterday I got the duck and was NOT impressed with the changes to the recipe. It also came MW when I asked for it to be MR. The accompaniments of the fennel is gross and the kumquats on top were barley cooked. All in all the recipe is not good this year. And then someone had the bacon mac and cheese and the pieces were huge SOFT bacon chunks - gross. The kale Brussels salad was very good.

Bucatini (shrimp, mussels, fish). Pasta was very thick and tasty sauce. Would get again.

Cozy and dark fisherman atmosphere. Very nice waitress. Live acoustic act in the bar. Food was very good. Abundant cocktail and beer selection of high quality. Must get the wings as appetizer, crisped to perfection (dry rub of sorts) with very good blue cheese dressing. Crab cakes very lump, some of the best. Bucatini with seafood also very satisfactory. Would return!!!

On the fence about this one....got there at 745 and was told we'd be seated in 45 min...first table was in the far side of the parking lot in complete pitch black...there were burst of lightening in the sky so we asked to be moved to a table under the tent where they had light bulbs but we were told those tables were for other reservations so we were more than a little annoyed that the tables under the tent "were spoken for" despite the tables remaining empty until they finally moved us there after I took the picture at 915. despite two tables front and center and a couple other empties were in the back. The food was decent but the service and seating experience just set the wrong tone and not sure we'll be back.

    Short ribs with kimchi

Always fantastic , the short rib with homemade kimchi is one of my favorite dishes. I prefer to go in the off season however even during the busy times, their weight, staff is always friendly, the bar always makes a great drink, and the food is always on point

When we…read morearrived, we were seated promptly and were given a large table to accommodate our party of seven. Ben came straight over and introduced himself and told us some of the specials and allowed some time to peruse the menu. We knew that we had to get the children their food first for us to enjoy our meals and we ordered pasta and flounder for the girls and a cheeseburger and fries for the little boy. It's hard to imagine that a restaurant can be very classy while being at the beach and a very casual atmosphere but people were mixed in their dress with those of us who were more casual, but somewhat dressy and others who got dressed to the nines to enjoy their meal out with friends or family. We decided on the advice of Ben to get some duck confit and also some tang tang shrimp and also Nice chopped salad which was fresh and crisp and also some tacos and then we were off to the races with our entrées. We all decided to choose something different and give a little bite to each of the members of our adult party. While I had seared sea scallops my buddy had salmon. My wife chose a salad with some grilled shrimp And my buddies wife decided to have a plate of muscles that she enjoyed immensely. The staff was fantastic in that they took away dirty plates and replaced them with new ones and made sure that the kids had everything that they needed for us to enjoy a quiet and adult conversational meal. Compared to Long Island, NY the prices were really very fair and the quality of the food was very very good. My scallops were excellent and the other plates that I tried all were cooked perfectly. I want to give a special shout out to Ben, our server, for being very friendly and his demeanor while explaining the menu and offering suggestions. I really do look forward to our next trip back

We started off with some 'doubles' for our drinks as we got settled and ordered a couple of other rounds during the trivia contest...so the bill added up quickly, but we had a blast with the trivia and ended up winning. Whether we were dining with a group of 9, an extended party of 16, or just enjoying a casual dinner at the bar, the service was consistently excellent. The staff handled everything with ease and professionalism - especially impressive given that our groups included anywhere from 3 to 6 children. They made sure the kids' meals came out quickly (a huge plus for us), and their attention to detail was excellent, even with the larger parties. The food was solid and well priced across the board. We tried everything from burgers and sushi to flatbreads, chicken, and the raw bar, and everything was fresh and prepared well. Drinks were also a strong point - reasonably priced, delivered promptly, and followed up on without us ever needing to ask. A nice touch during our visits was the live music - it kept the kids entertained and added to the laid-back, fun atmosphere. Even our evening at the bar stood out - we enjoyed the same great service and were able to take advantage of their happy hour specials. The updates that have been made here have only enhanced what was already a reliable, welcoming spot. Surf City Bistro continues to be one of the most family-friendly and consistently enjoyable dining options right in the heart of Surf City. We will be back again soon.
