It's rare these days to find a place that still holds that special, cozy, soul-soothing vibe. The moment you step inside, you're greeted with the familiar, comforting scent of well-loved books (you know THAT smell), and suddenly it feels like you're wandering through your book-loving grandma's personal library, with every shelf telling a story and inviting you to stay a little longer. The atmosphere is quiet, inviting, and warm, and the woman working there couldn't have been more wonderful. She noticed how deeply in the zone I was and graciously let me browse long after closing, no rush, no pressure--just genuine kindness and understanding of what it's like to lose yourself in a place like this. If you're a book lover anywhere in the area, do yourself a favor and pay them a visit. Businesses like this are rare treasures, and they deserve all the love and support they can get. It's more than a bookstore--it's an experience you'll want to return to again and again, I know I'll be back!

It arrived several days before the quoted delivery date, and was in pristine condition. It was an extremely hard-to-find hardback, so for it to be as flawless as it was (seriously, it was as good as new) shows just how much Gregor Rare Books cares about their products. Now I *really* want to go back for that First Edition "Master and Commander!"

Book enthusiasts and casual readers alike will find Gregor Rare Books a place to get lost in. While…read moresmall, there is no shortage of books you have been searching for, books you forgot about, and books you didn't even know you needed. Arranged in a manner that better suits your personal bookcase than any library, you will naturally gravitate to the right place among the shelves, visiting stories and authors as if they had called to you. The books are meticulously kept, and David is a wealth of knowledge about each one of them, as well as the lives and the loves of the writers themselves. A single question can lead to an engaging and enlightening conversation, and soon you will have a stack of books on the counter you have no recollection of putting there. Then comes the difficult part of choosing the ones that will leave the store with you. Trust me, this is not easy. Be warned: if you go once, it is very likely you will return. But if your travels keep you from returning to the island, simply ask David to keep you up to date on new arrivals. He will happily do so. With a diverse and broad selection (and with jazz guitar and piano recorded by locals playing softly in the corner), David and the bookstore stand out as an experience that delivers not only books to love, but the joy of exploration and discovery.

So, I decided to head to the Everett Mall (I was meeting up with some friends in Everett to game that night), because someone told me about Wishes. I was concerned that it would be a toy store with a few games in the back. No way! This place is Boardgame heavy. In fact, I saw titles and expansions I wouldn't expect to see in any Boardgame store. Dice? Not much of a selection. At all. I wanted a block of 36 D6s from Chessex. They might have had a handful of Chessex polyhedral sets. I was disappointed. But I decided to walk through the boardgane section. Again, Wow! Lots of depth of titles. I think I saw Twilight Imperium from a row away, and I thought, 'Would they have any Cthulhu Wars expansions? Nah, not in a mall, right?' OMG. I was so wrong. I found a shelf practically dedicated to Cthulhu Wars and Dark Souls! I highly recommend Wishes in the Everett Mall! The two employees I met (Zack and John?) were both friendly and helpful. I ended up buying a Cthulhu Wars expansion - The Sleeper. I still can't believe they had it in stock.
