The owner, Lili, is amazing. She always makes time for us and helps us understand how to take care of the plants we're purchasing.

Treasures and Teas - Black Current Tea and Organic Japanese Bancha

Treasures and Teas

Teas and Treasures in Edmonds is a very adorable shop with a focus of - tea, of course. One wall is…read morefilled with glass jars of teas, sorted by type (black, green, white, etc.), with origins of each tea identified. They sell in a minimum of 2 oz for most, unless they cost more than $5 per oz. Most are $4-ish per oz. I had a very fun time chatting with the lady about the types of tea, the flavor notes, brewing process, and more. It is so obvious that we are both tea lovers. Since I am also a tea hoarder, I chose ones that I didn't already have which can be difficult. Lol. Luckily, she suggested I try the organic Japanese Bancha which is somewhat adjacent in flavor to Kukicha, a Japanese tea using only green tea stems. The bancha is a subset of sencha. I also chose a black current tea; the aroma is captivating! Other than tea, they sell many gift items, including clothing. It is a very fun place to browse, shop, and sample a small cup of tea in their thermos.

I've been on quite the tea-kick lately, so stumbling on a local biz filled with dried leaves and rare goods, really got me excited. Half of the store is dedicated to tea and tea accessories. Their largest wall showcases dozens of cannisters of fresh dried teas. The assortment is astounding, you're guaranteed to find one that fits your flavor profile. They also have tastings onsite, though the flavors are rather limited. The accessories were top notch. I couldn't help but fall in love with the many tea pots, mugs, and unique goodies you can't find anywhere else. I grabbed a number of green tea blends to take home. I've noticed that including a cup of tea with fresh leaves has really added some excitement to my daily gratitude practice.

When I did not hear from Lindsey that week, called the beginning of the 5th week to find out when they would arrive. I was told they would not arrive in time for my planned event. They arrived 2 weeks later. This had to have been known when I called on the 3rd week yet I was not informed. You may think pillows are not big deal. These happened to be accents that were the finishing touches of my living room and tied into my art work, etc. I wanted them for the parties I was having. I was so disappointed. However, I would have been able to adjust if Lindsey had taken any responsibility for the delay. Apparently there was an outstanding invoice that they had not paid that delayed the delivery. One can understand when unexpected things happen. But ultimately if there is a sincere apology with a financial remedy, one understands. There was never an acceptance of responsibility. When I picked them up there was no offer of a discount. When requested at least some discount, I was given 10% off the least expensive item. Still saying we did everything we could... I love to support small businesses. What is unfortunate, they have lost out of my promotion of their business as well as any future business from me.

Over the years we have completed a fair number of remodeling projects that went well - - but a…read morebathroom remodel with Interiors of Edmonds was a truly horrific experience. The carpenter's wall wasn't plumb and he cut through HVAC ducts. The plumber left a leaky overflow drain and a shower pressure valve that didn't deliver enough hot water. The electrician broke parts when he installed a lighted medicine cabinet. Lack of coordination resulted in going one step forward, then two steps back (e.g. wall board went up only to be taken down to accommodate plumbing; completed plumbing had to be rerouted to accommodate framing). The entire comedy of errors took over 4 months for what was estimated to be a 4 to 6 week job. Cost estimates weren't held to. We now have a new contractor repairing the remaining problems. Interior of Edmonds should stick to selling you a chair or some nice fabric. Otherwise keep them out of your house.

While the space is tight, The Wood Spoon does a great job of filling it with all the necessities. Not only do they sell every kitchen gadget on the market, they also have an amazing selection of aesthetic pieces. Including bowls, plates, glasses, or any decor you might need for the home. I visited during the holidays and the store was absolutely magical. They had a huge selection of festive goodies and ornaments, making it one of the best spots for picking up. a one-of-a-kind gift. I couldn't imagine a better place to snag a trinket for the hostess in your life. I ended up taking home a number of seasonings and sauces to enjoy over the holidays. I specifically loved the Yozu Bourbon rub!

Growing up, it was a store my grandma enjoyed, my mom enjoyed, and my sibling (an older sister) and I enjoyed. As a family favorite across multiple generations, our visits could get to be a bit lengthy - and were always fun. The workers were consistently kind, and the interior was warm, well laid out, and without dust. Offerings included festive items during the holidays. It is one of few stores in my life I have gone looking over every item on the shelves on multiple different occasions because we were taking so long in the store. My first time doing this I was uncertain of how to approach it, though I was certain that I did not need anything. Then, going through the items, I found a few items I wanted that I had entirely not anticipated. This happened a couple times until the store became a fixture in my memory of where to go to looking for specific items/kitchen item genres.
