The girls at the front desk were super sweet and gave me the rundown about the spa's layout and etiquette. Check-in was super simple. You walk in, ask for a day pass, make reservations for additional services if you want (I recommend reserving at least a week earlier to get your preferred time), and they give you your wristband and lounge attire/towel. The women's locker rooms and bath area were pretty clean and very spacious. You don't need to bring very many toiletries, as they have large dispensers of lotion in the locker room area and shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the shower area. They have hair dryers for use and lots of outlets in the vanity area in case you want to bring other styling tools of your own. I started off with a 30 min Quick Fix Facial and was serviced by Ellie (10/10 recommend). It was super relaxing and we made small talk about skincare based on my concerns. She was super nice and very professional. After I left my skin was glowing! I then headed to the juice bar and got an iced matcha latte (also super good) and relaxed by the lounge area with my laptop before I had my next service. It wasn't too loud, and there's free wifi, so you can get some work done, watch a show, or read a little. Keep in mind the lounge area is an open space connected with the juice bar and food court, so it's not library quiet. That being said, people aren't yelling, and nobody was playing their online media out loud, so it's easy to tune out all the white noise. I then got a 30 min Swedish Massage by Andy, which was more than satisfactory. I was worried about the massage being too rough, but he did everything just right. Only during a few second-long periods did it feel a bit heavier, but I knew he was working out a knot. Even then, it was not bad, and I was glad to know he was being thorough. For lunch, I got a shrimp tempura roll and miso soup, and both were tasty and fresh. I loved the complimentary yoga class, which happens daily from 2-3 PM. Regarding the bathhouse, it's listed on their website that you have to be nude, and plenty of people have talked about that, so I won't bore you with those details. That being said, the varying temperatures are nice, so you can choose based on your comfort. The showers are in the same bath area and are open, just to note, but nobody is really looking at you. You get comfortable pretty quickly once you realize nobody cares and there's a lot of body positivity. Overall, I had a lovely experience. The staff are friendly and help you feel comfortable, and there are plenty of things to do. Definitely recommend staying the whole day. If you want to enjoy all the amenities but are a little wary about the nudity, I suggest coming early when there's less people, and it feels a little more private. I was slightly hesitant to visit the spa based on the mixed reviews I saw online, but ultimately decided to give it a chance. I had never been to a Korean spa, and I live over an hour away, so I was really hoping for a good experience. That being said, I'm very happy I decided to come and look forward to coming back.

They then assign you a small locker for your shoes and then you go inside to the gender specific locker rooms where you have a larger locker. They issue you a uniform that you need to wear while in the common areas so you need to change into that in the locker room. Since the locker rooms are gender specific, all baths within that area require full nudity (I did not participate in those but I heard they were wonderful). Any service like mud bath and scrubs require full nudity and you can sign up online or right inside the locker room. If nudity isn't your thing, there are still plenty of things to do (just no bath stuff). In the common area, all genders intermingle and there are 5 different saunas will all different temperatures and all different themes. They have a sleeping room (which is also used for a nice yoga class), lounge chairs, a common sitting area, a cafe, and a small eatery. You can rent games at the cafe for free and the cafe has a huge menu of both healthy and indulgent treats. You can sign up for different massages, facial, hair, or foot treatments right in the common area. I do suggest signing up for these services online beforehand because they fill up quickly (all services are an extra charge and automatically add an 18% gratuity). We spent about 7 hours here with a group of 7 people and we wish we had more time. I do wish that they had proper showers inside with curtains and/or a changing area for those of us that are a little shy. Staff was friendly and we'll definitely be back. Afternoon got crowded so I would suggest going earlier in the day if you're going on a weekend.

Mani pedi was lovely and relaxing with Hilda, also a 5 star experience. There are no shower or locker room facilities, but I was given a robe and a tote for my stay. The facial and nail services also include hefty doses massage, so I'd ask the massage therapist to skip those areas and focus on shoulders or back instead to maximize your massage minutes! I understand that unexpected circumstances can happen, but the lack of communication and the extremely late notice were unacceptable. I'm used to beautiful decorating and light refreshments supplied. For the price, I think they should be providing more than room temperature, shortie water bottles. My spa at home is in an urban area, and yet costs $50 less per hour and provides: cold cucumber- and fruit-infused water, a tea/coffee or chai drink station, a small cookie variety tray, granola dispenser and then they come in to check on you once you've gone into the relaxation room to see if you'd like to have a glass of wine or champagne. The room is decorated attractively with a Tv playing relaxing spa-like scenes and long flowing curtains that provide some sense of privacy and relaxation in the dimly lit room along with quality music. This relaxation room at Mt. Airy looked sterile, like a hospital room and no music. The music during my massage was laughably cheeseball. I made the therapist knowingly chuckle when I told her it sounded like a mix between music back in the day in the Kmart restaurant and let's call it bad "racy" videos with its corny synth beats. Surely you can afford ASCAP fees to pay for something decent?? Even AI could produce better. But don't be cheap. Support musicians. Pay the annual fee. Back in the locker room, the pickled smell of casino cigarette smoke lingers lightly in the air. What I mentioned it to staff, they said they're fully aware and basically there was nothing being done about it. When I'm coming for a health retreat, why would I want to fill my lungs with a carcinogen? Seriously. I understand that the Mount Airy casino is a different owner and your power may be limited on that front, but at minimum you have every ability to run multiple air purifiers so that your guests have a better experience. There's really no excuse for all of this other than poor management. My boyfriend and his mom go here very often and I needed a hair cut so I decided to make an appointment. I tried to get Dana, the owner (who Steve always goes to), but she had no openings so I went to Abbey (sp?) and she was wonderful. I didn't really know what I wanted done to my hair, I'm very picky. I told her I wanted to get the dead ends cut but not too short, because I like my hair passed my shoulders and some end up cutting off more then I am happy with. I also mentioned I wanted to try side bangs and she did everything perfectly for me. When she styled it afterwards, I couldn't believe how much I loved it. The inside is very big, when you see it from the main street it doesn't seem as big. You have to park in the back and go through the back door. It's not just a hair salon.. they do hair cuts, coloring, nails, spas, and there's yoga! It's crazy how many different options are there but it's so clean. I highly recommend going here. I will be going back to this place whenever I need a hair cut.
