We ate breakfast and lunch at the Dune Cafe. Food was delicious. I will say maybe the Poke Bowls are a little pricy ($36) considering you order at the counter and eat out of plastic bowls with plastic utensils, but the fish was fresh and the bowl was delicious. Iced Coffee was $9, but that's an average price for coffee at this point. The bar food was amazing! We started with the mixology class which was so fun. Definitely loved that experience. The pretzel is huge and was so soft and perfectly salted. The hummus and pita were DELICIOUS!! I definitely recommend trying the hummus. We experienced the bathhouse which is nice and relaxing. We weren't able to get robes since they were short on robes and only offered them to spa guests. Understandable, but it was a little uncomfortable walking through the lobby in a towel. They didn't kick us out after 50 minutes, which was nice and we appreciated that. The pools were nice, they seemed maintained. The steam room and sauna were clean as well. The room we stayed in was nice and clean. I liked the different living areas. Note there are a few steps inside to walk up to the bedroom and bathroom. Also, there are steps and can be a substantial amount of steps to get up to the room depending on your room number. My only complaint is - we stayed during a light snowstorm. Although the snow was light, the stairs weren't cleaned and got slippery as we were walking to and from our room to the lobby. Would have liked to see the crew dusting off the steps. Overall, it was a nice experience. Still would say it was pricy for the off season, but I think it was well worth the money spent. Glad to say I stayed at gurneys at least once in my lifetime

Upon arrival, was notified that the pool was out of service because the heater went down. They said I should have received a call. I didn't. After learning this, we figured we would spend most of our time in the hot tubs. Turns out, the heater went down for those also didn't work. The pool and the hot tubs were basically polar plunges. We booked a corner ocean view with a large balcony. The room itself was nice. Large, spacious and a wonderful shower with very nice water pressure. However, the room had ants. And a lot of them. I wish I took pictures. For a newly renovated property, you would think the HVAC systems would have been upgraded. But no. The heating in the room was so loud we actually had to turn it off in the middle of the night because it prevented us from sleeping. This property as a whole puts A-LOT of money on the esthetics. The lighting it beautiful, the wall decor is gorgeous, but it's the the things you don't see easily that need help. Ripped cushions, rotting wood on the patio, ants, poor HVAC, and clearly not a 24/7 on call pool repair for a resort that in the summer time charges $1500 a night for a basic room. Again, you book a winter getaway at a place like this to enjoy the pool and spa. When it's not working properly it just ruins the entire trip and there is no point in staying there. A seperate review of the restaurant was already posted by me. The restaurant was the saving grace. But I absolutely will not stay at this property again.
