This place is freaking AMAZING. I love board games and I loved themed restaurants so this was perfect. I first went here when I planned my partner's 40th birthday and we had such a great time drinking cocktails and playing Catan. The second time we went here it was to bring my out-of-state friends who love board games. That time we rented out one of their board games for free, which was nice. Went here for a board game night with some friends - we brought our own games but the bar had a huge selection behind the bar. We made reservations for 5:30 on a Friday and it was pretty empty when we walked in, but filled in after a bit. I really wanted to like this spot but a few reasons I'm rating it a 3 for now: - Drink selection was not great. Cocktails were $10-$12 and I tried two - the Thane Belmont's Jewel (basically a whiskey lemonade) and the Calcifer's Cup (this drink was INSANELY sweet). Also, my husband paid $8 for a stout and it was a can pour (I don't think they had any beer on draft but might have missed that). - Service - the bar was pretty slammed and all of our party waited at least 15-20+ minutes for our drinks to arrive. Two people at our table ordered the same cocktail and it blew my mind that one of the two was delivered about 15 minutes before the second. It would've been so much more efficient to make the same drink 2x and deliver together. - Food was meh. We got a basket of tater tots (I think they were $10) and they were bland and not crispy as they should be? I thought they were just too expensive for what they were. Really enjoy the concept of the bar but I don't think it was worth the $60-$70 for a night out when we could have had an equal experience at home for free. read more

Honestly all their food and drinks are kind of expensive but you are paying for the ability to play their games too. Great place to hang out if you are into games. We ordered one of the pizza's and it was ok not great. A little on the undercooked side. We noticed everyone else (who looked and acted like regulars) ordering the soup bowls so we will try that next time. It was a jack n the box night (Xbox game) so we were excited to go and play. But after two hours we decided to leave and as we were paying our check we learned it was a whole new staff working that evening. I'm not really sure where Thanes Table is getting such stellar reviews. I have been there on 4 occasions and each time it's been a complete nightmare. I wouldn't even go there, except that they have Harry Potter Trivia in which I am on a team, otherwise, no thank you. Waiting at the bar for one hour to get a drink and mediocre food is totally unacceptable. Their drinks aren't great and the food looks like something my 7 year old neighbor could make, on a bad day. Waitress was rude when approaching my quiet group to tell them they were closing and had to leave. Interesting since the sign on their door said they were still open for another half hour. We mentioned their hours are reflecting a later time on their door to which she responded that google was wrong. We didn't say google, we said their door. She ignored us. After packing up and waiting for the check, it never came. We had to go to the bar and ask for it only for the waitress to ask what our orders were because she didn't write it down or remember it. They had just had a fundraiser event the night before to raise funds to help them stay open after just 3 months from their grand opening. I can see why now.
