Very friendly and even personalized, despite the fact that it's usually completely full. Now, for the drinks and food. The cocktails are delicious, very potent, and well worth the charge. The food is to die for. It is a little pricey, but definitely worth it in every way. Freshly cooked, delicate to taste, packed with a good assortment of healthy vegetables. Stopped by here after a long day of shopping at Tysons mall and it was amazing! You get so much quantity for the amount that you pay for, especially as a vegetarian (~$13/dish). Staff made some amazing recommendations and they did not disappoint. We got the Veggie ka prow, drunken noodles, and veggie fried rice. The flavor was great, but also loved how much and the variety of vegetables they put into each dish. The Ka Prow tofu dish had the most perfectly deep fried tofu and flavored so well. Overall you walk in and it feels like you're in a 5 star restaurant, and you get that feeling but without the crazy prices of a 5 star place. Very modern upscale vibes in the heart of Tyson's. Honestly have never made a review for a place yet but this experience made me want to write one. Out of pure honesty the place was very disappointing. Seating did not take too long it was after sitting down that took a while. We only ordered waters and it took almost 10 minutes to come out. Then after getting our waters they said they would be right back which I didn't think would take long, but it had taken another 5 minutes. Finally after ordering the food came out. Honestly the portions were well set, and it was decent food I have to say. Only problem that waving down a worker was very hard. There were 5 workers that night and it was not busy at all but no one really paid attention to the tables. I saw a few workers just talking to one another with others on their mobile devices. After taking long moment for the check, I was finally done for the night. If you go I would definitely tell you it is not for the service. The food is just typical Thai food and there nothing very special about it. Out of 10 I'd give it a solid 3, for decent food and the design of the place you'd expect more than what you actually get. This is my experience but others could've definitely differed. It was sad as I had really high hopes for the place, just wanted to try another Thai place thats not my usual across the DMV. I do not plan on returning as it was a waste of time. Also for some reason it is $4 for a bowl of white rice, I can't believe they are expecting you to eat entrees and curries with no rice. We had eaten at Thaisons a few months ago and thought the food was quite good. We went there again this week and were most disappointed. We ordered the spring Taro roll, stir fry vegetables and pad thai with chicken and shrimp. The spring rolls were tasteless, with no flavor. The stir fry was ok but a little salty. The pad thai was terrible. The chicken and shrimp were overcooked to the point of being inedible---probably pre-cooked and stuck in the microwave--really leathery feel and taste. We ordered $100 worth of food from here through Uber Eats and they didn't sent any rice with the order. I called to let them know about the rice and they said they would call me back and didn't for 15 minutes by which time I started making my own rice. They offered free spring rolls next order which isn't really adequate. Another hostess was polite and hospitable, so we were happy to be seated and ready to grub smelling all the amazing aromas. The chicken satay was delicious, and perfectly dropped off the skewers . Pad Kapow was fresh, just the right amount of basil and gralic sauce. The Penang Curry was on par with Lemongrass at The Aria in Las Vegas. I was working on a project and decided to take a quick break. I had never been to Thaisons before. I showed up at 540 PM, and there was only one other table of people. Before I could even order, the server said, "I wanted to let you know that we are going to have other parties here later." At first I didn't understand what she meant, but then she made it clear that I shouldn't stay there too long. That is not the proper way to greet a paying customer in an empty restaurant. We used to order from this place when it was Tara Thai, which was kinda ok but at least reliable for a few dishes. But then quality at Tara Thai took a nose dive, not only food but service and take-out orders consistently either wrong or taking over an hour or both. So we were glad to see the place change hands. However my experience so far with Thaisons (sorry that's really an awful name, especially for a restaurant in Falls Church) is meh. The food simply isn't very good. What I have ordered has been bland, and mushy. And the service not much better. The chicken satay comes with a side dish that could have chiles or fish sauce but it had neither, just chopped cucumber, red onion and red pepper in a sugary sauce, it was sweet and almost completely devoid of flavor. Similarly the peanut sauce tasted like peanut butter. The Pad Thai was also bland, and mushy, obviously cooked way ahead of time and just scooped out of a pot for us, it tasted like leftovers. The sauce was vaguely tomato-like which made the dish taste oddly like Chef Boyardee spaghetti. The service at a weekend lunch was what I would call "least effort", nothing more than awkwardly taking our order, delivering food, and avoiding our table until it was time for the check. We won't be going back. I predict the place won't make it a year so we will see who takes it over next. read more
