The service was pretty much terrible. The food was really great, I enjoyed what I got (although it was a little bit oversweet for my tastes, but I digress). However, our waiter was very inattentive, sloppy, and slow. It just kind of ruins the experience. I don't know if we will be back here. It wasn't even busy (two other tables were occupied) and yet it took us over an hour to get in and out just because of the slowness of our server. In some cases, the food somewhere is so overwhelmingly amazing that, bad service or not, you're gonna think a restaurant has the sun shining out of it's behind for the rest of eternity. Unfortunately, that was not the case here. read more

Went here for dinner last night- came recommended as best Thai in Querque! A-8 assorted thai appetizers 2 egg rolls, 2 chicken satay, 2 pot stickers, 2 fried wontons, 2 mini egg rolls I really liked the satay. Maybe I just really like satay. In any case, this satay did not dissappoint- tender little chicken skewer! The apps came with a peanut sauce and another sauce (it was red, I'm not an expert, but it was delicious). Everything was om nom nom tasty. The regular egg rolls were giant - I really liked the mini egg roll (higher fried outside to innards ratio). N-1 Pad Thai (tofu) Lovely triangles of fried tofu. Great balance of flavors - crushed peanuts and peppers come on the side so self-regulation is possible (good for me and my aversion to burning off taste buds!). Very generous portion- I ate my leftovers for lunch the next day. The restaurant interior was nice and clean, if a little simplistic. I was a little surprised to see they don't serve any alcohol... I was looking forward to a Singha but drank water instead. read more

This is THE go-to Thai place on the east side. Ingredients fresh and preparation excellent. Pad Thai is best in town, Pineapple Curry a delight, Mango on Sweet Rice an absolute killer way to finish. Folks who own and work at this place are super friendly. I ding them one star because the dining room is small and it's hard to get a table during peak times. Consider carry out. read more

I can stand some pretty spicy dishes, but not at Thai Tip. First time I went in, I thought I'd play it safe and get "New Mexico Hot" (on a scale of Mild, Medium, NM Hot, and Thai Hot). My body yelled at me for days. I wish a waiter would have warned me. Now I get Medium and add just a little bit of Thai pepper. The food is some of the best Thai I've had in ABQ since Tina's left town. The food is not greasy like at a lot of Thai. The atmosphere is nice, and the Thai Tea is excellent. It's a small place so don't think you're going to show up with a party of 10 and get seating at dinner time. The profile for this place says that they do not serve alcohol but in fact they do serve beer and wine. This is currently my go-to place to Thai read more

This place definitely has the best pad thai in Albuquerque. By far. If you, like me, find most of the pad thai made by places here to be way too sweet give Thai Tip's a chance. I got the seafood combo and it had a generous assortment of seafood (including mussels, shrimp, and big chunks of white fish) and it was spicy and salty with only a hint of sweetness like pad thai should be. I also got the coconut rice desert and they definitely used canned pineapple but at least it was well drained. The quality of the pad thai keeps this place at a five star for me. I'll be back! read more

The food here is wonderful, and they have a special "new mexico hot" on the menu for spicy which you can still taste the food under; their "hot" does not kid around. Also, try the house-made ice cream! I frequently go for the Yellow Curry, the Super Fried Rice or the Pad Thai, but those are pretty much staples, so they're not terribly adventurous. read more

If the menu says in big bold letters that pre-orders are encouraged, this should be taken as a sign of how excruciatingly slow our dinner service was going to be. We went early on a weeknight and the dining room was nowhere near full and yet it took forever to get served the most basic of dishes. Apart from the slow service, the food is passable at best. The pad thai was way too saucy and disgustingly sweet and the tom kai was very bland. read more

This is a great, tucked away little gem of a restaurant. The food is great, although I would definitely take their spiciness reccommendations into account, because they can heat up the food awfully quick. The ambiance is rather nice too - a good date place given the cozy environs. Plus you can stop at the Adult bookstore right next door if the date goes well. read more

Not a good experience. It was 6pm on a weekday. We are two seniors out for a nice birthday dinner. The place was already mostly full and the noise level already high, but we thought we could deal with it. NOT. Big mistake. It is a small place and It wasn't long before the noise level became excessive. We couldn't hear each other talk. The table behind us 2 feet away was filled with 5 loud yelling grade-schoolers, with no adult in sight. We could no longer deal with it and wanted to leave, but by that time we had placed our order. It finally came but there were no place settings or napkins. Those finally came but a glass of water never came. The food might have been very good, but by that time our senses had been dulled by the noise. The one good thing was the young waitress, who might have been one of the best we've ever had, but how does one waitress take care of 30 people? By that time we just wanted to get out of there, so we paid and just left. The takeaway from this experience is that if you are no longer young and not used to a very high noise level, do not go there expecting a relatively quiet dinner after 5pm. Go there at the time you want and check it out first. read more

The Good: Oh my god, the food is great. I had the New Mexico Hot Yellow Chicken Curry...YUMMY. The Thai Hot is pretty damn hot, so if you like hot, get that. Their chicken satay was good, but I have to admit, the peanut sauce was only meh. Their spring rolls are FANTASTIC! The bad: Good god, the hours....For dinner they are only open from like 6 to 8pm!! Hurry and get your food! The ugly: Nothing! The owner is fantastic and the service was good! read more

It's definitely a hidden gem. The mini egg rolls are very good when fresh. . The super rice was definitely enuff for lunch and dinner. U can definitely make your food to hot so keep in mind. Remember you can always add but u can't remove the spicy. read more

This has to be the best Thai restaurant in the ABQ! Pros: -Any noodle dish! -7 levels of Thai Hot (I've only gotten to #2, so far) -Service is top notch--maybe the best in town -The desert with Mango is delicious (very minor)Cons: -Restaurant is a little dated -It's a laid back dining experience, maybe priced a little high (but to be fair, they are better than their competition) -Portions aren't crazy big read more

Work friends took me to lunch at Thai Tip since they know I like spicy food and I'm still new in town. We got there early since they apparently fill up fast but we were able to be seated right away. The menu looks like your pretty typical Thai food. They have the stir-fries, the curries, the rice dishes, etc. I went with my go-to Thai food, Hot Basil. I was told that, despite my spice tolerance, to go with New Mexican Hot instead of Thai Hot. In general, there is a difference between tolerating a spice level and liking it. New Mexico hot was perfect. Very spicy but I still enjoyed the food. The servings were generous and the presentation was pretty nice. The shaped the rice into a heart which was a nice touch. They were also great about keeping my water glass full. We didn't have to wait for a table nor did we wait too long for our food but it was getting pretty full, pretty quickly. The atmosphere is kind of what I expected. A bit hole-in-the-wall but still clean. My meal was about $12 which is kind of on the higher side but not too bad. read more

Everything you've read about the spiciness of this place? All true. It's hot. Take that for granted. Great food. I like the Thai salad. read more

My favorite Thai place in ABQ so far, but expensive. SUPER spicy! They pride themselves on spicy food, so if you don't like your Thai food that caliente, ask for mild. read more

The service was absolutely fantastic. I wasn't so impressed with the food, but I've been spoiled a bit by a Thai friend showing me good places at home in Seattle. The portions are huge, which is neat if you want to take home leftovers. The flavor was pretty decent, but the sauce on my pad kee mao was nearly gelatinous (the kind of xanthan gum thickness you get in cheap Chinese) and both the wide rice noodles in that and the smaller noodles in my partner's pad Thai seemed to be a bit overcooked - but then we came midafternoon, so that might have had something to do with it. The mango fried rice, which we ordered after our server told us mango was in season, was absolutely fantastic. Overall the food was adequately fresh and well spiced. read more

Great food, excellent dessert, and John's Tea is amazing...but listen to the other reviewers--subtract a level from your usual heat. Seriously, don't try to be a hero. Other things to note: the restaurant is very clean and the service is excellent. They'll give you plenty of water for when you ignore the advice on the spice! read more

Went here for the first time after landing from an evening flight - not my usual Thai spot, but a friend recommended it! All the reviews about the hotness which were echoed by the waiter had me pretty worried! I know I can eat spicy, but so many strangers urging caution had me a little paranoid. Since it was my first time there I decided to only get "NM hot" pad kee mao, my usual dish for tears of pain and delight and delayed internal discomfort. When it came out, I was actually disappointed at how mild it was! As a regular at Thai Cafe in Santa Fe, I go with Thai hot, and this felt more like a medium or maybe white-person-hot to me. Like, I could eat it as fast as I wanted, with no breaks for sweating, shaking or just sucking down cool air and cold water. I will say, the waiter brought us out Thai condiments and a dish of fresh pulverized chilies to bring the level of spice up to Thai hot and then I was able to happily sweat through the dish. Next time I'm there, I'll just order Thai hot and see how they dish it out :) But it wasn't as bad as I was expecting, but that's with the frame of reference that I eat a lot of Thai food and enjoy pain, so, you know. My husband ordered basil fried rice, and it was just ok. Needed more basil. read more

We have ordered from Thai Tip multiple of times Through DoorDash. Last night was totally disappointing. My husbands green bean curry was not even enough to feed a child. He has had it before and the serving was normal adult size. read more

We've returned to Thai Tip several times since my previous review. Service has drastically improved. I do think they could still work a little more on teamwork, but we haven't had awful service like our visit back in December. Their papaya salad still reigns as the best in Albuquerque. I would give 5 stars, but I find the heat level here is SO inconsistent. When we order the papaya salad medium heat, it's either relatively spicy or melt your face off hot. When ordered mild, it's pretty much sugary-sweet. I heard the server telling another table you can order in between mild and medium, so I think we will try that next time. read more

I LOVE Thai Tip! I was turned on to Thai Tip two years ago when a coworker took me there for lunch and have been going there regularly ever since. I've had the teriyaki fried rice and the pad Thai. Both are consistently amazing and very well prepared. I know I should try other menu items there but I can't seem to break from those two. I have taken my wife and a few friends here and like myself, they feel this is the best Thai in town. It's worth going to even on our days off and need to drive 1/2 way across town. read more

The food is every good. This is one of the few restaurants in ABQ that me an Mr. agree on. Their food is made to order and fresh, it tastes delicious and consistant each time we go. The staff is polite and professional. This is our favorite ABQ restaurants. read more

One of the best Thai place in town. I've eaten here many times and it's great. Portions are smaller that other Thai joints around town, but as Americans we should eat less. It's also a small space. read more

Good for albuquerque which is no culinary town. I had the veg curry mom had pad Thai. Both were good. Wait staff was weird, bunch of young boys with no social skills. Expensive for conventional food and a lousy environment. One wood wall in the place is just beaten up. Awful looking. read more

Great place! Very busy! Loved the pot stickers! I had Pad Thai and ordered with extra veggies! Delicious!

decided to give a new Thai place a shot but never again! I ordered take out and ordered Massamum mild and it was hot I couldn't eat the food, I asked for peanut sauce didn't get it when arrived to pick up was ignored until some one finally asked if I was waiting for an order ended waiting 45 minutes for a 30 minute order my rice box was 3/4 full never in my life have I seen that it's usually overflowing, my massamum was 1/2 the usually size which after all this drama I'm #%^* so ended my day with Taco Bell....I'll just stick to my Jasmine Thai and little Thai Kitchen disappointing read more

After having tried this place two or three times I figured it was time for a review. The food here is very good , we are big fans of Thai food and this place is legit. The food is fresh and the service is good. I have tried the spring rolls, yellow curry, pad Thai, and the fried chiles dish - all very good! The spicy level was my favorite - I get "NM spice" which is a pretty good kick. Give this place a try. read more

I would have to say....LOOK ELSEWHERE! This place was a little too high priced for what we got (13 bucks for soup with NO rice on side). We ordered the Tom Kha soup, and it was too spicy for us and did not have enough meat. We didn't like the flavor (we make Thai at home and go out to Thai 3x monthly) and also didn't appreciate the server did not check back in after dropping off the food (we wanted to get some rice to tone down soup). We had planned on ordering more after the soup but the service was terrible because there were a low amount of people in restaurant (2 tables) and took close to 45 minutes to get soup out and no water refill til we tracked down server and asked! We decided to just leave and go to another restaurant after the soup. We will not be back, too many other options in town, with much friendlier service and better food. Don't waste your time with a place that doesn't care about service and has higher priced Thai food then most other ABQ restaurants. read more

We had a wait to pick up food to go. No water or place to sit while we waited. We had to stand next to patrons eating. The food is pricey with no allowance for lunch time or for Seniors. The food did taste good. We will go back when these customer concerns are met. read more

I have two words for you. Pineapple Curry. It is so delicious that I have dreams about it. Trust me! It will not disappoint.

Ordered food for dinner as a pick up order. Tried their pineapple fried rice and spicy noodles. Dessert was sticky rice with mango and vanilla. Food is okay. I have tried several Thai places almost everywhere I go, this place is certainly not the best. Filled our tummies and went to bed, that's all I would say. read more

Thai Tip came recommend by friends so I thought I'd check it out. First thing I noticed was the $2+ higher prices than some others. Okay, well maybe there's something to it. While the servers were friendly and accommodating, I found the food ordered by my party (green curry, pad thai, spicy eggplant) was pretty ho-hum. The eggplant was undercooked, the only vegetable in the curry was bamboo shoots. The pad thai was actually pretty good, but not worth the trip and price just to get it again. read more

Service use to be good here now, not so much! I had been craving all day spring rolls from Thai Tip. So I call and order, to go, and when I ordered the spring rolls the waitress asked if I wanted 1 or 2. I ordered 2 and then I said that I wanted Peanut sauce as well as the regular dipping sauce. I pick up the order and get all the way home and when I open the container witht the spring rolls, No Peanut Sauce!!! WHAT A BUMMER!!!!! So I call to let them know and they just half heartedly said sorry...They never even offered to make it right...just a lame, no emotion, sorry. Then the waitress tries to put it off on me by asking, "well did I read you back the order?" You just lost a loyal customer! read more

The Tom ga is great. The salad is a reminder to me to never order a salad or pho in a Thai or Vietnamese restaurant before first confirming they actually have some mint or cilantro or basil, whichever is advertised. Thai salad without any mint is boring and bland and too sweet. Yuck. Again, the soups here are amazing. read more

possibly my favorite Thai restaurant in ABQ. I've tried the thom yum soup, the fried potstickers, the pad see ewe, and the red curry. All are pretty delicious. In fact, I've gotten that exact same combination two visits in a row. I gave this place a 5 star because they didn't skimp. I am very particular when it comes to how big a serving I get for the price I pay for it. I usually order my food to go, and with most restaurants, when soup is ordered, they will throw everything into the container. With my thom yum soup with tofu, I was actually confused when I got a separate takeout box labelled "tofu for soup." They didn't skimp! I was incredibly impressed as most restaurants would add in the tofu with the rest of the soup and make it take up unnecessary volume. I'm definitely going back here as the food is tasty, and I get a good helping for the price I pay! read more

This review may seem a little biased, as this is my favorite restaurant, but so be it. Thai Tip serves profoundly delicious food that is all prepared to order nothing sits around waiting for you to show up. On the one hand this means it is incredibly delicious, however this does mean that sometimes it takes a while to get your food out to you. I however do not see this as a drawback as the extra time spent the restaurant is more than made up for with the quality of the dishes. The staff, John, Tip and Richard primarily, are all very very friendly and have gone out of their way to make us feel welcome. I accidentally discovered this restaurant during its first few weeks of operation but thanks to that serendipitous discovery I've had many wonderful meals since. read more
