We started with shrimp eggrolls, which were wrappers rolled around shrimp and seemingly nothing more-4 for $12. I got the Thai beef salad, my go-to. It was fantastic. The meat was tender and flavorful and I had enough for two meals! Charlie had the trout in a garlic sauce and t was so yummy! The sauce was sweet and savory with veggies added on top of the fish. We had a slice of light and fresh coconut cake that was just delicious. The atmosphere was busy but not chaotic. All the waiters were attending to all the tables. Service was adequate. I can't wait to go back!

We live in Knightdale so this was a trek for the dinner hour but I stand by my decision. This place is right downtown off of Magnum so there's parking garages nearby. Don't be fooled by the facade. Apparently this place used to be Dos Perros, and the logo is still in the glass Inside you immediately walk into the front bar area and hostess stand. They were busy so it took a while for someone to address us. We grabbed a high top in the bar area. They have like a dozen AC units throughout the dining space, so temperature control was a priority. (Appreciated). Food wise we grabbed the calamari, some spicy wings and some steamed dumplings to start. Dumplings were decent. Calamari was pale and could have been fried harder. Also, it was a weird cut....long flat pieces instead of the circular cuts I'm used to. My kids loved it, but def not the best I've had. The wing sauce was a highlight. We asked for hot, but as a table if west Indian people, the heat level was mild. The wings were also slightly less done than I like. They were drowning in a plate of sauce though. I'm wishing i would have taken the sauce to go and refired some wings at home and put em under the broiler so the sauce would have caramelized on the meat. They had all the elements, but that would have def improved the flavor and texture there. For entrees, we got a Chicken Pad Thai (my son called it a spiritual experience) , two orders of pad see ew with crispy tofu and one Drunken Noodle with Pork. I didn't taste the pad Thai so can't cosign my son's review. The sauce on the pad see ew was the highlight. The tofu was under done (not crispy), and the Drunken noodles were decent. For the Triangle, this was great Thai. Comparing to all the other Thai I've had in life, this was ok. But if they want to seel their sauces on the side, I would def grab some of those and chef it up at home. Staff was friendly and attentive. Felt like family owned - no pretense, just helpful people.

For appetzera we have had the Fresh Shrimp Basil rolls and Nam Tok. The basil rolls are in rice paper versus fried. They are light and fresh, as is the Nam Tok. The lime in the Nam Tok was my favorite part of the dish I had some with and aome without spice. For dinner we have had the Shrimp and Bomb chicken on the board specials, spicy Basil wiith beef and Spicy Cashew Nut with chucken. The shrimp dish was light, flavorful and spicy. The Bomb Chicken to me was a spin on sweet and sour... only liggtly sweet and a good spicy. The spicy basil and spicy cashew are heartier disher and full of flavor. Our server reccommeded a 3 out of 4 and to add more if not spicy enough. Excellent recommendation. Great family run restaurant and we thoroughly enjoy the great dishes and very generous portions.

My friend is from that area of the world and on her recommendation we tried this new place in downtown Durham. It was terrific, what a find! The restaurant's unique handmade paintings on walls and other Philippino decor was very eclectic and cool. They had a hand painted mural of the famous Chef Anthony Bourdain Which was cool but he's from New York so I'll have to ask the owner about that next time I come back. Lol The place was packed and we were walk ins but the owner was at the reception desk and told us to wait and she might be able to find us a table. We were in luck and she directed us to the back room. The server was extremely knowledgeable about all the dishes. Since I had my Philippino friend along she told us what she liked as well as the helpful server. The food was delicious and had a beautiful presentation. What I ate I can't pronounce so look at my pics of the menu ;) I had a bowl w beef filet, onions, tomatoes, cucumber lining the bowl w Jasmine rice and a fried egg on top. My friend had oxtail and the other had an appetizer of Lumplang Shanghai and entre of Pancit Behon, all food was extraordinary and large portions. No doubt that was why the place was packed! We ordered the Thai Chicken Salad, Drunken Noodles, and the Wonton Noodle Soup. The waitress provided us with water (they also have different types of teas and soft drinks) and was pretty consistent about refilling our cups. The Thai Chicken Salad tasted a bit like Thai / Lao style Laab (not sure with the difference is between Thai and Lao style) but with much less herbs and seasoning. The Drunken Noodles were pretty standard but it didn't have much spice to it. The Wonton Noodle Soup had a nice light broth but the Wontons didn't have much meat in them. A few of the tables were missing condiments (sriracha, hoisin sauce, chili sauce) but since it was pretty empty we were able to grab them from other tables. Overall not that bad for Thai food. Was pretty disappointed they didn't have some staples like Papaya Salad or Sticky Rice but food was good overall. I will say the napkins they provide are nice!

However, we were utterly disappointed with our food there. The bao buns had a tender pork in it but the only sauce it included was hoisin which made it too salty. The Korean fried chicken in the 'Spicy' flavor was flavorless. The sauce was extremely bland alongside the chicken meat inside. Don't let the red bright color deceive you, we kept wondering when the 'spice' would kick it (it never did!). We each got a curry udon and added chicken to it. As frequent curry eaters, we wanted the Asian flavors we enjoy however, this udon was bland as well. The chicken we asked to be added felt like it was just chopped and put over the udon with no actual flavor integration into the dish. We left this place feeling like it was a waste of our money. Given their higher prices, I would've expected something A LOT better with some real Asian flavors.

There's not a ton of seating, but we got a table quickly. The service was quick, and even though the place was small, it felt more cozy than cramped. I liked having the menu on the wall! They had two vegan options, and my partner & I both got the Biang Biang noodles. It was good, and perhaps even better the next day (the serving was big enough that I couldn't finish it). My sister got the Jjajiang Mian & absolutely loved it. This was a very positive experience, but not mindblowing--I think that the hype around the "M" restaurants perhaps raised my expectations a bit too much. It's also possible that their non-vegan options are stronger than their vegan options. Overall, though, very yummy, the prices are very reasonable for Durham ($16 for the Biang Biang noodles), and I would come back & try the veggie curry if given the chance.
